“You are not leaving this house today!.”

“And why?.” Josiah asked angry faridah.

“I can’t take this anymore Josiah! Is this how you married me, just look at me. Because of you, my father neglected me, because of you! I couldn’t have peace in this house, what have I done to deserve all these?”

“See, see faridah ‘ I don’t have time for exchange of words this morning. You know I’m late for work and I have been happy for some days now without getting stopped or troubled by any of you, so let go off my cloth now and let me go!.” He said in annoyance expecting her to leave him.

“Taba (Never) I’m not letting off.” She answered removing her vale with the second hand. Josiah flares up at her and pushed her to the chair.

“What is it sef! What is it??? Am I the only man in this world? Why are you people choking me unnecessary ehn! It’s because of this your attitude that makes me married another wife. You complained too much, you don’t respect me likewise so how did you want me to behave with you as husband? No tell me! The only thing I’m concerned with you is our son if not I would have sent you away.”

“subuhanulahi Megida! So the rest of the children are what? Are they not your children?”. She asked.

“Yes they are but I’m only concerned about when they will be ready to go their husband house.”

“You are wicked ooo Abba! (My husband) you are sending Nkechi daughter to school while you abandon your first daughters at home based on you don’t want to waste your money on female education, is Nkechi daughter a boy? No tell me na! Is she a boy!!!.”

“ha! This woman want to put me in trouble.” Nkechi whispered from the room behind the door.

“Who told you that I’m responsible for her daughter education? She has the money to send her to school and that is why she is going or am I the one paying for mama sewa daughter? Come on get out from my way before I do what you will regret.”

“I am the only one you always know how to handle but if it’s that barren woman now you will do as she said. No problem, ba wahala I know what to do.” She said and turned back to go when Adebimpe dragged her back.

“I want you to finish what you’re saying before I start my own. Am I the one you just called barren woman, faridah? If I should start now you will start gnashing your teeth together like flying bird. I don’t want trouble this early morning ooo faridah ki o shó àré gídígàn ni (be warned).

Seeing what is going on before Adebimpe will face him, he quietly pack his shoe and opened the door to go.

“I don free.” He said inside his car as he is about starting to go.

“Wait! Wait!!!

He looked at his front seeing Adebimpe running towards his car, he speed off immediately before she could catch up.

“I think this is even the right time to have another house separately, because I can’t continue to condone all these market scene everyday.

He arrived at his park where he do shadowed passenger, he was on his third round for the day with his passengers when they started discussing on polygamy crisis. What brought up the topic was because a woman who was going through her social media came across Yul edochi alleged married to a second wife. The woman questioned why men can’t be faithful to their wife instead of having extra affair out of their marriage. “Some men think having two wives is part of enjoyment or right as a man, I don’t know why he will do such when he has a pretty wife and wonderful children “.

“Madam, shey you no see watin Judy carry ni?.” A man said laughing at what she said.

“So, he went for Judy because of what she carries right? But why do some men don’t appreciate what they have? Didn’t he see the asset his first wife had before courting with her? We should stop all this propaganda insinuation that is not right.” She answered.

“But, wait madam, madam wait I hope you know it’s right for a man to be polygamy in nature than woman because he will be one taken the responsibility.” Another man sitting at the front said to her.

“So, how about the first wife decision, how do you expect her to feel after spending years with the man she has planned and declared on the altar to spend the rest of her life with, all for him to just go out and impregnate another woman. Is that one good? What if it’s the opposite? What would you people say.” She asked and there was no response.

“Ehn, madam. Thank God you’re a woman, if as a woman in her husband house now go out to have affair with another man, that is an abomination and also form of adultery. No woman in her right sense would go behind her husband to commit adultery, that is a sin!.” The man sitting next to the woman broke the silence.

“É mà gbóró (just listened to yourself) so it’s not a sin for a man cheat on his wife to the extent of taking her in as second wife! Abeg don’t say that again ooo uncle because some women might not take it likely with such husband at all, why do we have some cases whereby the wife stab her husband to de at just because he married another woman do …”
.
“That is stupidity na.” The man at the front said interrupting her. As I’m right now that I’m still bachelor ooo if I now marry and decided to marry another wife I will freely do it and if my wife doesn’t agree to it, then we can file for divorce and we go our separate way.”

“That means you don’t love your wife, if not you won’t even have the mindset to even take in another woman or do you think those people having more than one wife are enjoying their home? Most of them are all living under stress. Even Yul edochi right now will know the consequences of what he did because the happiness between his first wife won’t be there again and you know how we women do jealous. He will have to be making it up to both of them most especially his children.” She said.

“Madam, if I should tell you that in my house I have 3 wives and we are living peacefully without hatred.” Josiah said.

The women was surprised why the men happily applauded him for what he said , supporting him for his braveness.

“it is communications and unity that matters in building a family, I love my wives because they understand each other.” Josiah said.

“But, driver. It might work well in your house maybe because you’re rich…”

“Ehn’ rich.” He said laughing. Do I look like Yul edochi, I’m just a taxi driver with little earning and I’m glad I have been able to provide for my family.

“But I’m very sure, that at times they will always be fighting that you might not be aware of.” The second woman said.

“There can’t be fight ma, if they all love each other as he said. This thing is not really hard, what should we now say about Muslim that married more than 3 wives sef, it’s we Christian that is taking things far beyond our religion. Even in the bible we have some men who had more than one wife. Let just embrace it as normal thing if it’s something that is good for us.” The man at the back said.

But I’m still standing on the Truth that having more than one wife after so many years with your first wife is a sin. Instead, divorce her before marrying another woman and even divorcing is bad unless if the marriage as reach a domestic violence stage.

“Madam, just forget about it! Men will always be men. We know what we want and we know if we’re capable of what we are indulging to.” Josiah answered with all seriousness.

“Driver, my prayer for you is to live long because the day those wives of yours will start ehn’ it’s not even like they are living apart, Ha! Under your roof driver (laughing) I pray they don’t start and put you in between one day.”. First woman said laughing with others.

“It can’t even happen.” Josiah answered laughing also.

“What happened na Rihannat?.” She asked.

Rihannat laughed enviously.

“Am I your mate? When did all these start Adesewa? You think you can be intimadating me with your book huh! If not that my mother doesn’t have money and father didn’t want to send me to school, did you think you can be using all this to intimidate me!

“I don’t like it ooo Aunty Rihannat, please I don’t want any trouble this afternoon.” Adesewa answered picking her books up. Written by faith stories

“You don’t even have shame at all! You’re living with someone that is not your mother and you’re happy, Instead of you to be crying on her neck everyday to find your family for you, and you are here suffering. Who knows maybe your mother is one rich person now, what am I even saying sef. It might be that she sees you as bad luck that makes her to dumped you when you’re a baby. You have no identity and…

“Enough! Enough!! Aunty Rihannat. What is the meaning of all these? (Crying) how does my business concerns you? I have a mother and my mother has gone to work!.”

“You mean that barren woman?.” She asked in a mocking manner.

Adesewa slapped her face for calling her mother that way, Rihannat slapped her back and they started fighting.
