Adesewa was surprised that her mother boss could come pick her at the bust stop yesterday. All through their retuning home, his conversation with her was so casual as if he has know her for a very long time. She kept quiet after getting home and was determined to ask her mother the next day if she has rested enough. She was expecting her mother to go to work in the morning, but she is still at home feeling relaxed.
“mother, what happened? Is there no work today?.”
“I took a day off because of you.”
“How is your boss now going to eat?.”
“I have prepared enough for him. So it’s just to microwave it.”
“Okayy, because I was surprised still seeing you at home.”
“What are we eating this morning mother?.”
“I think you should ask grandpa first.”
“Okay mother.” She answered standing to go.
“I didn’t forget the gist you will be telling me about ooo my baby.”
“Of course mom. I will surely tell you.” She answered her as she walked to her grandpa room.
Knock…knock!.
“Who is that?.” Adebimpe asked.
No response.
Knock…. Knock !
“I said who is there na! Oshey àró kutúkutú oó (is too early for this).” She said and walked to the door and opened.
“Ha! Mama faridah. What happened?.” She asked surprisingly seeing her on her knees. Please get up. What happened?.
“Just let me remain like this mama Adesewa (crying) ha! Something is happening to me.
“What is it? Please I said get up. I hope nothing happened to your husband?.”
“Nooo it’s my daughter! My daughter ooo please.”
Old solder came out with Adesewa because of the voice he heard.

“Can she enter?.” Adebimpe asked.
“Enter where? Is this her house.”
“I don’t mind to stay here. Don’t worry let me just tell you why I’m here.”
Go on!.” He answered. He sat on the long bench placed beside the wall.
“Please (crying) my daughter is…..is in the hospital.”
“Ehn’..ehn.” He answered.
“She needed blo od.”
“What happened to the one in her body?.” He asked.
“It is getting dried.”
“Dried ke? Did vampire suck her blo od ni?.” Adesewa asked laughing.
“Its not like that my daughter.”
“Your daughter?.” Adesewa asked and bursted into laughter. Do I look like your daughter? Or you don’t know what to say “.
“It’s okay Adesewa. Let her talk please!.” Faridah said cautioning her daughter. So, Mama Rihannat what do you want me to do now.”
“I need money. The doctor has given her 7 pant of bl ood.”
“Jesus!.” Adebimpe shouted and told her to sit. How come?.
“That is what I don’t know. I was told that she needed more bl ood and…And I have spent all the money she has including mine. I have rally round since yesterday night, but no one is ready to give me. I even begged my sister if she can donate blo od for her but she gave me an excuse that she’s not feeling fine and for that she won’t able to donate.
“How much is the money?.” Adebimpe asked.
“50 thousand Naira.”
“Don’t worry, I will give you.”
“Thank you oooo mama Adesewa. May God bless you (rolling on the floor) you will not cry over your child.
“You mean you will give her mother? Have you forgotten how…
“Come on Adesewa, this is between life and de ath. And moreover we shouldn’t pay evil for evil. There’s more you know nothing about. Mama Rihannat is not an evi l person okay.” Adebimpe said to her daughter.
“Can an outsiders donate for her?.” Old soldier asked.
Adebimpe look at her father in amazement including Adesewa.
“father! Do you want to donate for her?.” Adebimpe asked excitedly.
“Why did you think I ask then.” He said and she jumped at him excitedly. We are all human.
Mama Rihannat shouted and started thanking them. Adesewa look her mother in amazement on wondered what is going on. Adebimpe and her father hurried inside and get dressed immediately to follow mama Rihannat.
“So I should stay back home now?.” Adesewa mumbled behind her mother as they go.
Adebimpe go to the nearest ATM stand and withdrawal the money and followed her. Some minutes later they arrived at the hospital. But the doctor has not come. Mama Rihannat took them to Rihannat ward where she’s . When they entered they found her still sleeping as she takes the last pant of blood giving to her.
“What really happened? How did Rihannat end up looking like this. She is looking so skinny.”
Faridah couldn’t answer because she doesn’t know what to say.
“How are we now going to pay the money and to donate, because I will also like to donate for her.” Adebimpe said.
One of the nurse entered and told them the doctor is around. They went to meet him and faridah gave them the money. She told them Adebimpe and her father also want to donate their bl ood. The doctor looked at them and ask their genotype. They told him and he order them to go into the lab for confirmation. Some Hours Later, Adebimpe and her father results came out and they were told they can donate. Faridah jumped up excitedly thanking her creator and began to roll on the floor praying extensively for Adebimpe and her father.
“Our prayer now, is that God should have mercy and restore Rihannat health to normal. But you should ask her what happened. She must tell you how it happened. Because looking at this thing, I don’t think is natural “. Old solder said sitting down exhaustedly.
