“So, how is family?.”

“Family?.

“Why not, are you not married yet?

“He is married.” She answered on his behalf but he smiles and tell him he hasn’t been married.

“How about the family picture you have in your house sir? And you told me when I came to your house for my first resumption that you are married and I should watch my limit. I hope you remember that.

“He is an old soldier son, his father was my course mate doing one of our courses in jaji in Kaduna. He was a captain while I was Lt colonel. He can tell you all that just to make sure you focused on your work.”

“Old soldier is right mum sewa. I am a very preservative person, and I don’t like anyone intruding my personal life. The family picture you saw was younger sister that lives abroad, we took the picture with her children when I travelled to visit them. At least you can see another man standing beside her in the frame.”

Adebimpe keep quiet looking at Mr Charles and her father.
ONE MONTH LATER

MR Josiah has been at home nursing sickness. He was diagnosed with HIV positive. He couldn’t believe Nkechi will infected her with it. He regretted having her as wife. His wife has neglected him including his children. No one wanted to go closer to him or have anything doing with him. He was expecting his children to at least showed up for him but he was left all alone. Nkechi family has taken her children in their care. Luckily, her first child didn’t contact HIV. He stood up looking pale and unbalanced. He really missed Adebimpe at this moment because he knows she wouldn’t have neglected her like others. He wished he didn’t send her packing. But at the same time, if Nkechi didn’t took him to herself by separating him from Adebimpe and faridah, who knows what would have been their own faith likewise.

“Now, I see the reason behind my soreness and throat dryness all the time. To even go out is even scaring me because I don’t know how those that have know about my illness will react again. To eat is even a problem.

He opened the door and walked to faridah room to beg her to cook for him.

“Farida! Faridah!!.”

She opened the door wearing a full coverage Muslim attire that covers her face and her body

“Yes.” She asked.

“Why are you covering you body faridah? Is this how you have been dressing in this house.

“And how is that your problem? No tell me .What do you want ?.”

“I am hungry.”

“So?.”

“Why are you doing this faridah? You should be happy and thankful to late Nkechi from separating me from you for the past 4 years.

“it doesn’t matter, because I know if you had even have anything with me, I might not have had it. You’re the one that can’t keep your manhood at one place. You seek for it and now you have gotten it. So deal with it yourself and don’t bother me at all.”

“Didn’t you hear what the doctor said about taking care of me or do you want it to result to AIDS? .

She laughed clapping her hands together.

“Taking care of Who? You? What do you expect me to say to him before, if not that I will look after you. So you expect me to be helping you out with things until you get me contract it abi? You want me to stick with you now when the deed as been done. It’s now you know faridah is somewhere to cook for you. So you can actually come to me to request for food Josiah! I shouldn’t have been in this house with you if not for my father. He doesn’t listen to me when you are maltreating me. Is it now that he will want to have anything to do with me when he has heard about what happened to you.”

“I am sorry please.”

“What is sorry? If you know what is sorry, you won’t even dare come to me to request for food. If you know what sorry is all about, you wouldn’t have neglected me and my children for that unscrupulous woman. Adebimpe will be so glad that she has left you before all these happened. If is not for Allah that have been protecting me who knows what she would have done to me, if she could do that awful thing to Adebimpe. What if she has di ed that day. Won’t Adebimpe daughter see me as an ev*il person. I have decided to endure since my sister told me to keep praying for the restoration of my home. But, see now it as been restored but my husband is facing a long time infection that could take the grace of God to be cured. And you now want me to stick with you at this moment.

“I said I am sorry (he wanted to prostate but she told him not to try it) just let me lay down and beg you faridah. I am sorry please!.

“Where are your family? Where are those you called friend? Even Adebimpe and her daughter, where are they? Who is now here with you or the Nkechi that got you infected, where is she now? The misery man behind her HIV where is he now? A ghost, yes a ghost. Where do you want to find a ghost?. After all your caring and everything for her, look at what she end up doing to you. I’m very sure if she is still alive, you won’t have known still, because you will constantly keep on doing self medication thinking it’s normal sickness while she laughed at your back. Because she knows what she has done. Well, thank God for my life and my children. If you know what is good for you, you better go to church and cry to your maker for divine healing because merely looking at you now. I don’t think you may live long because of the financial needs for consumption of medication or do you have more money?.

He couldn’t answer.

“No problem. I will pity you and give you food. But you must not return the plate to me. Just keep it with you.”

“Faridah, why are you taking this to heart. It’s not that you can just be infected like that. Haven’t you be relating with Nkechi when she was alive? Don’t you have things together? Did you know all those while that she has HIV. Please don’t do this to me. I know you’re resenting back because of what I did. But you shouldn’t forget I’m your husband.

“Which husband? You better don’t get me angry this man.”

She closed the door and brought out food to him and warned him never to come near her door again unless she called him.

“What a life.” He mumbled, looking at the plate of food he is carrying.

RIHANNAT

She opened her eyes and turned around. She feels so relaxed and happy that she has caught another maga (rich man) again. She has been living with Henry for the past 2 weeks. Her father illness even pissed her off from going home.

“Babe.” Henry called her. He noticed she has woken up, he kissed her forehead telling her to open her eyes became he knew she is awake.

“Good morning.”

“Morning babe, how was your night?.

“Fine.”

“I am about going out, you know I told you about the deal I’m having this morning.”

“Sure. I’m okay, you can go.

He carried his backpack and a face Cap heading towards the door. Rihannat gets down from the bed and followed him outside.

“Take care baby.”

“Sure.” He answered reversing back to drive out.

“See you later!.” She shouted waving at him.

She entered the house yawning and stretching her body. She took her phone and dial her mother number.

“Good morning mother.

“Rihannat, what is wrong with you? I have been calling your line for days now and you also refused to call me. What happened?.”

“Mother, calm down now! Nothing happened to your daughter. I’m here doing great. Anyways, I will send something to you now. Just manage it.

“No problem. My own is that you should be careful.”

“No qualms mother. Wait ooo how is your husband? I hope he hasn’t die.” She asked laughing.

“He his all alone regretting himself.” Faridah received an alert that popped up at the top of her phone. She swiped down and screamed and shocked. Rihannat! Is this not 800 thousand or is my eyes inching me.

“Mother, I said you should be calming down. Is that why you wanted to screamed out your lungs. Like I said that is just a little. Don’t worry, manage it.

“Manage what? This is too much na! If your father should see this, won’t he pay for the drugs he is said to buy.

“Please mother, I don’t want to hear that you gave my money to one reckless man ooo I only gave you and my brother and sister.

“Wait faridah. Where did you get this money? You know I don’t usually ask but this one you gave me now is more than the ones you have been giving me.

“Don’t worry mother. Just be praying for me.”

“Praying for you? On what…”

She ended the call and put her number on blacklist.

“This is why I don’t like you disturbing me with your talk and calls. Putting your number in blacklist is the safest for me.”

She hissed and throw her phone in the sofa.
