Adebimpe

Josiah stood for a while and grabbed the paper from the lawyer without declining. He signed it and hand it over to the lawyer. I was surprised that he didn’t even question me at all. He probably might have really wished to end it once and for all also. I left his house happily and returned home. I couldn’t go to Mr Charles house for more than 3 days because I was expecting the outcome of the divorce issue. Although, I called his line severally without response. That even gave me concerned on what might be going on with him.

“Could it be that he has reconcile with the lady? Because unlike him.”
Adesewa came out and was dressed gorgeously. I asked where she is going and she reminded me of the male friend that is coming over.

“Oh! Is it today?.” I asked.

“Yes Mom, so you have forgotten.”
“My dear you won’t mind your mother. I have a lot going through my mind right now. So is he closed by?.” I asked standing up.

“Yeah, I think so because he called me not quite long that he missed his way but he has gotten it right.

“What of your grandfather?.”

“He hasn’t come back from his outing.” She answered. I went inside to change into a casual wear that’s good to approach someone. Not like anyhow person. But my daughter boyfriend. I have disciplined myself not to overlook her social and relationship lifestyle, because a child that you don’t want to give chances to have boyfriend will end up having it behind you. But I trained and have disciplined her to abstain from men at the young age when she should be hustling for her future and be a boss lady if herself before venturing into a relationship. But it seems she likes the young man with the way she explained it to me. Well, she is above 18 and definitely be allowed to date. We have young girls of nowadays that get married at the age if 22 or 25 years and they are living happily. Allowing her to have a boyfriend doesn’t mean she won’t focused on her dream and I trust my Adesewa not to disappoint me.

I sat on the chair awaiting the boy when a text message popped up on my phone that my divorce with Josiah as been granted and we are to show up at the court house the next day. I smiled happily. I wanted to text me Charles about it but I has a change of mind that I will inform him after everything is settled. I just hope he’s fine.

“Good afternoon ma.”
I looked at the young and tall man standing at my front. I smiled and answered him as he sit.

“How are you my dear?.”

“Fine ma.”

He answered in an outspoken manner. My daughter sat beside him and they began to chat. I stood up to give them some privacy when Adesewa called me back.

“Yes my dear. What is it?.”

“He want to speak with you.” She said and leave the sitting room immediately.
“I hope all is well son?.” I asked sitting back.

Two days later
I was so eager and excited to share my experience at the court yesterday to Mr Charles. As I get to his house. I found it locked. I opened it and entered, the sitting room look so messy. Pillows and the chairs were into different places. I stood speechless for some minutes before I decided to make everything fine before he arrives from work or wherever he might go. At that moment, I knew the lady hasn’t been with him since I left. What baffles me most is our everywhere looks so messy. Mr Charles is never the dirty type. So what could actually brought all this mess. I worked for more than 3 hours just to make everywhere cleaned. At the end of it, I slept off tiredly. I woke up some hours later and Mr Charles hasn’t returned yet. I looked at the time and it was 5:32pm. He has never been this late outside before, so what could have kept him so late. I looked out through the window and it’s just some passerby going to their destinations. I walked around the sitting room and sighted the journal I saw earlier under the long chair. I picked it and realized it was the previous journal I once saw some times ago. I sat on the single chair and opened it. I read the past once I took a glance at back then and opened to the last page he last write something. I read along my eyes going through the sentenced. I couldn’t believe what I was reading, tears started flowing from my eyes. I started regretting while I left him Days ago without knowing what actually happened.

“But why will she be planning to wrecked him. Who is the fu*cking person! He write that his job is at stake because of her. (Puzzling) could it be that it’s that….”

I heard a crack of door and saw Mr Charles coming inside staggering. I ran to him immediately to help him balance. His body rack of alcohol. He definitely has gone out to drink.

“Who are you?.” He asked flinging my hands away.

“Don’t tell me you drive this way? When did all this started Charles??.

He looked closely at me to be sure I was the one standing.

“Is this really you Bimpe?”.

“Yes, I’m the one Charles.”

He hugged me tightly and started crying profusely. His grips was so tight that I couldn’t move my body an inch.

“You are choking me Charles!.” I said in other to abstain from the alcohol inhaling.

“I can’t believe you came! I thought you have left me .”

His tears are now falling on my shoulder to my back. I thought of what to do and dragged ourselves close to the chair and purpose fall on it together. He let go off my hands at last. I looked at the clock and saw 7:13pm. I know I just have to stay back with him till next day. I left in on the chair and watched him snoring heavily like a working machine. I called my father and told him what happened that I won’t be coming home that night. He told me to be careful and look out for me Charles condition. I ended the call and slept off some minutes later after reading a fantastic story on Faith stories page.

“Wake up, good morning.”

I woke up glaring at Mr Charles.
“How was your night?.” He asked smiling.
“I think I should be the one to ask you that, for coming back yesterday night…”
“Don’t go back there dear.” He said interrupting me. It’s good to see you here. How long did you waited for me yesterday?.”

“As long as you can imagine.”

He smiles and go to the dining table to make a coffee. I wonder how on earth he quickly recover from the drunken State he was yesterday. It’s so obvious that he is not happy.

“What time is it?.
“I think around after 8.”
“Are you kidding me? Are you serious.” I asked looking at the wall clock behind me. I really slept for long.
“So, who should now be asked question?.” He said smirking and sniffed.
“What is going on Charles? The way I saw you yesterday wasn’t good at all, there’s something bothering that you’re not telling me.” I said after making up my mind to talk about it.
“I am fine.” He answered.
“Fine? You’re not fine Charles. It is written all over you!. What is the problem? Why have you not been picking my calls? I hope it as nothing to do with that riffraff that came that say?.
“Yes! Yes you right (standing up and waking towards her) that girl is a bascard! A phool for that matter. Can you imagine? Can you just imagine Adebimpe.”
“What am I imagining, I don’t understand.”
He hit his head in regret.
“My job is at stake right now.”
“I know…I mean how?.” I said, but thankfully he didn’t hear it .
He began to tell me what transpired between them and how it’s going .

“Well, I don’t think you should be scared about it. This how most people do this days to tarnish a person image. Don’t worry, we will find something to do about it. Because with the look of things she might be working in hands with someone in your office.

“Are you for real??.” He asked, almost bluffing out his coffee. How could that be possible?.”

“You said your supervisor is angry with you because you did some errors you practically didn’t know anything about. And your colleague is telling you to confront your supervisor for not believing you. Like, how on earth would you believe such dumb advice. What if your colleague is trying to take over your position? What if he has been looking for a way to bring you down. You know your enemies by be your Emily and Joshua. They can render you useless with just a word behind you why they applaud your stupidity at your front.

“Hmmm, can he actually be the one? No I doubt it .

“Okay ooo keep on doubting, doubting Thomas. Leave the girl to me. Infact tell her to come here tomorrow, I don’t mind staying here to resolve this before going home. All I will do is just to act foolishly to get what I want.
He stood you happily and kisses me unaware. I stopped him that he shouldn’t forget I’m still married.

“Come on! Let be real to each other and forget that Crab. I know that you love me, and that’s while you have always been around me. And now I have tell you about my past. Everything about me, why I remain single for years.

I think it will be good if I also tell him my mind than beating around the bush. Hitting the nail straight in the head will be perfect. I could feel and see the excitement in his eyes. Knowing and working for him is a blessing to me. I had never thought I could ever see someone that can d*ie in love for me as Mr Charles and my ex lover before I got married to Josiah. God is perfectly working things back to normal for me. Mr Charles has been my helper, supporter infact my father’s favorite. Giving him the chance wouldn’t be a bad idea though. I get up and wrapped my hands behind him and whispered to him.

“My divorce as been granted and now I’m free to go on with anything I desire for. I was grant the custody of my daughter because of my financial upbringing for her without Josiah support.

“Are you serious?.” He asked facing me. He removed the boogies from my left eyes and caresses my hair smoothly.
“Yes. I’m serious about it. Infact Josiah left the court crying without gaining anything. And now I’m back in track as a single mother.
“You are only single with your adopted daughter, but don’t you believe you can still have your own children.”

I laughed mischievously.
“Children? Well, there’s nothing God cannot do. But I still love my daughter so so much.
“I know. And I also love her too. Very soon we will become a family.
“Huh! Family? (Giggling) I would love that.

Two days later the lady came to Charles house like a monster. She became furry seeing me on Charles big Polo. It’s actually Saturday and Charles is around so it makes things easier for me. I have prayed concerning the issue day and night and definitely believed it’s God that is doing is wonders. When I was planning to make it slow with her and God did it by making it more slower. She became calmed after some minutes, maybe because of what she’s about to say. Charles wanted to charge angrily at her but I made a signal to him not too. She took out her phones and placed them in the table. She went in her knees and started crying. Charles was speechless because he said he didn’t believe it was Kórédé pleading on her knees.

“I am sorry Charles. I didn’t know that fo ol of a man was trying to used me for his selfishness.
“How? And which man.” He asked.
“Is it not your friend, that phoolish man!.”
“My friend? Which of them. You definitely knew I have them plenty.
“That cr@zy Philip that doesn’t want to cooperate with me.
“Huh! Philip? How…. What! I can’t believe this! What transpired between you two and how is it related to the s*x tape.

She said it was his friend plan with a some of his friends to get him drunk that very day.
“He called me some months back that he wanted to see me, at first I was like, hope nothing happened to you. But when I met him he told he despise you that at your work. You are always given the best accolades and attention to while it feels like the rest of them were there to play. He said he needed to pull you down a bit so that you will be irrelevant in the presence of your supervisor. He wants to cause more issues between you two so that your post can be giving to him.

“Ha! God! I can’t believe this. Philip! So Philip has been the one behind everything going on at my work . Ohhh shit! He fucked up big time! And he is my real gee. Like we did things together all the time. I still went out with him yesterday.

“Don’t mind him. He took you out yesterday just to add fuel to the argument you had with your supervisor. He wanted you to do something that can warrant your sack letter. He is not a friend but a traitor!. He cheated me after collecting money from you. He refused giving me my own share.”..

“Are you cra zy ! Your own share of what you’re planning to ruin my life for. So, where is the tape now? .He asked.
“I know I have wronged you, But at the same time I didn’t want to do something that will end up hurting you. I only came to use the sex video to lured money from you. There’s nothing like se*x video of us.
“Ha!.” I shouted.
“What I showed you was just a romance video. But we did it to look like we are having s*x I am so sorry Charles. The idi0t is aiming to send the video to your supervisor after collecting such huge amount of money from you. I only did it because of money. And at the end I wasn’t able to receive the money. See(opening her phone) this is the real video here. It’s nothing so serious about. “

He wanted to bashed her in annoyance but her stopped him from expanding what is on ground. I told him to calm down that in as much she came to confess what she did, that he shouldn’t react out of anger.

“Then what is the main reason of coming to say all these?.” I asked.
“I want him to go and punished that traitor, he should be arrested for blackmailing. He has the video on his system. You can sue him.”
“Then what should he do with you that started all these?.” I asked

“Ehm…ehmm I can…you know, be free. At least I came to tell you about it.” She asked stuttering.

To cut the whole story short, Charles sue Philip and he was made to pay 10 million for blackmailing and defamination of character. Kórédé was not left out as she was also told to pay 5 million for what she did. Mr Charles and I got married 5 months later. Infact my father and his father were the happiest of all on that day. My daughter wouldn’t stop praising me and my husband. I’m glad after all the challenges I ended up being with someone I love. I believe age doesn’t differs the happiness of anybody. You can be happy and gloriously married at the right time. I believe my first marriage was just a coincidence to my life occurrence. Gods plan can never be predicted truly. Because who can imagine that Mr Charles could be the right man for me all these years.

TWO YEARS LATER

Faridah daughter, Rihannat lived on with her cross. She falls sick at least twice in a month. She realized her mistake and turned a new leaf and focused more on God for a change of permanent stories. She joined a church close by to her house and became part of the children teacher. She used her stories to preach to the teenagers to abstain from the love of money. Her mother had to start some petty business to support her husband Josiah as they have forgiven each other to live as one.

ADEBIMPE
I can’t imagine that we have really gone this far. Adesewa graduated early this year and to God be the glory, she was given a job at TELEVISION BROADCASTING STATION where she worked as a journalist. Her boyfriend proposed to her last month. It was so happy that I will be a grandma very soon. Charles still believed I might still took in (pregnant) if I don’t loose hope.

“I am over 40 years Charles. Menopause is real oo it’s better we go for another adoption.”

“Don’t belittle your faith my darling.” He said going out of the house.

It’s not like I’m belittling my faith but it seems God doesn’t plan to give me a child. My daughter came home unannounced and took me outside covering my face. I asked what is going on until she opened it and I saw a brown new car.

“Who owns this Adesewa?.” I asked surprisingly.
“It’s for you mom!.” She said excitedly.
“Me? A new car!.”
“Yes mom, you deserve more than this.

I hugged her happily and blessed her for what she did. She also bought a fine suit for Charles and many male accessories. One month later while preparing for Adesewa introduction I fell sick all along to the extent I landed at the hospital. It was there I was confirmed 2 weeks pregnant.

“Mummyyyyyy I’m so happy right now .” Adesewa screamed around the house jumping excitedly.

I couldn’t believe I was actually carrying a child in my womb that moment. At 45 years I am carrying my first fruit. Is this God not wonderful.

“My love do you now believe in faith?.” Charles asked with so much joy written on his face.

“Our baby is on the way.” I said in a teary eyes hugging both my husband and daughter.

THE END.
