Lakunle summoning courage, decides to unravel the mystery surrounding the paternity of Simi’s daughter. Initiating the first step, he contacted a lawyer, setting up an appointment to discuss the matter. When he told Modupe about his decision she supported him. The court ordered a paternity test to be conducted on Lakunle and the girl. found herself entangled in a court battle initiated by Lakunle.

In the midst of legal proceedings, Lakunle invited Modupe to Lagos and took her out to dinner. He decided to have a conversation with her about his feelings. He was nervous as he sat across from her in the cosy restaurant. He took a deep breath and began.

“Modupe, there’s something I need to tell you. It’s been on my mind for a while now.”

Modupe was curious “What is it, Lakunle? You know you can talk to me.”

“Yeah, it’s… it’s about us. You see, every time I’m around you, there’s this warmth, this undeniable connection that I can’t ignore. And, well, I’ve been wrestling with it, trying to make sense of these feelings.”

“Go on, Lakunle. I’m listening.” She encouraged him.

“I’ve come to realize that it’s more than just friendship, Modupe. I genuinely care about you, more than I’ve allowed myself to admit. I like you, Modupe, in a way that goes beyond what we’ve been. Initially, I thought it was gratitude, but I know that I have fallen in love with you.”

Modupe’s eyes widened slightly, her expression shifting from curiosity to a mixture of surprise and warmth.

Modupe Smiled “Lakunle, I… I had a feeling, but hearing you say it makes it real. I also have fallen for you, I had to wait for you to realise and acknowledge what you feel.

Lakunle was Relieved “I was afraid it might change things between us if you feel differently, but I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer. I love you Modupe.”

“And I love you Lakunle. We will together navigate this path, where ever it may take us.”

As their eyes met, a silent understanding passed between them, a new chapter in their relationship had been opened—one that held the promise of something deeper and more beautiful.

Lakunle woke up the next day with the news of Adesuwa’s engagement in all the papers and social media, he was happy for her. It was a celebration of love triumphing over adversity. Surrounded by friends and family they exchanged vows, promising to cherish and support their spouse through thick and thin.
