MY WICKED FATHER

FInal episode

The rain began when we were in the court.

Ahh, I said inaudibly.

However, I reasoned, this is not the rainy season.

Oh, I guess today’s rain wants to wipe away everything bad.

I could hear voices talking to me about my victory,

Don’t be intimidated because you’re going to win. The voice continues,

I nodded even without knowing who spoke”

I have cried for justice for so long, please fight for me.

I don’t have rest since I came here.,

Please don’t fail me.

I assumed that was my late mother.

I covered my ears with my two hands,

I wanted to yell, but I would risk being charged with contempt of court.

I then sneaked outside.

and returned after a little while.

My case was brought up,

They called on my lawyer, but he was no where to be found.

Alright, the magistrate said,

Defending counsel? He queried.

My father barrister stoop up,

My Lord, with no doubt, the complainant was falsely accused my client Mr Rowland Ene Ene ‘m’

Having seen what is playing in the court today,

I pray the court to quickly pass a judgement,

On the basis that,

The complainant’s lawyer came and pleaded with us to drop the case after determining that it was entirely fabricated and without merit. Which he can attest to that.

So for that, I suggest the court of competent jurisdiction should pass the judgement base on fact.

My Lord ,I reserve my comment till next when call upon.

, “Noted.” The magistrate.

When my brother and I looked at each other, he grinned cockily.

Before I render the judgement, Any solicitor for the complainant? The magistrate enquired.

Yes, my Lord, Barr Meh affirmed.

Everyone turned and looked at me with surprised.

So I turned and look at my brother Jake and smiled.

He contorted his face.

But I didn’t mind.

A lot of people have lost confidence in the judiciary system,

The lawyers who swore the oath of allegiance to protect the law and the common citizen have deviated from that aspect.

I stand with the protocol that the law must take back its respect and become no friend to any individual or love one ,

But act with fact .

I called on my client Ms Linda Rowland, to come close to the witness box and testify.

I went to the witness box and hold the Bible.

I Linda Rowland Ene ‘F’ have swear before this honourable court that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God.

After residing the judges Rule,

My father’s focus was all on me.

I felt sorry for him, because I’m going to jail him,

Who gives him such a mind? I asked.

Why is he so heartless? I queried.

To be sincere, poverty is a sin and dysfunctional peer groups are another root of the world’s problems. I thought.

Maybe it was someone who initiated him even without his knowledge, I reasoned.

As I was thinking,

I was unaware that I had spent some time debating in the witness box.

Until barrister Meh came and shoved me, I regained consciousness.

Oh, my thoughts were definitely wandering. I said.

I removed the video recorder and put it on display, and everyone watched it.

My father, brother, and even their lawyers were all in a state of disbelief.

I step out from the box, feeling very sad.

After the magistrate finished watching the video ,

Are you guilty or not guilty? He asked.

After waiting for few seconds, I’m guilty, my father replied.

Where do you keep his remains ?He queried,

I buried him, my father replied,

The magistrate gave an order to exhumed the body.

I have hereby sentence you to de@th by Hanging. The magistrate said.

I cried so loud,

the arm men came and took my father away,

But before he was taken away,

He pleaded for forgiveness,

Jake, he called,

I’m responsible for your mother’s death.

Please forgive me,

Linda, you’re a strong girl, may God keep protecting you, before he could finish talking,

They forcefully took him away for execution ground…

Mike body was found After the exhumation, and was later given a befitting burial..

Jake came and begged for my forgiveness and we lived our normal life.
