(Episode 8)
My 32nd birthday was suppose to be celebrated in two weeks time and Mike started planning towards it before he even traveled to the village but unfortunately, he came back with new wife.
Now that he is no longer part of my life, and I am not in the mood for any celebration, I had to cancel the plans for celebration…. The birthday came and passed.
I started concentrating only on my work, business, parents and siblings with no interest for men and their advances.
Years passed, I became stronger, fiercer and richer.
God has helped me to train Rita my immediate younger sister and the one next to her through the university,
Rita came with a man that married her immediately after her graduation from the university…… she is now in her husband’s house in Abuja while the one next to Rita traveled read more stories from coolvalstories to Lagos in search for greener pasture so I had to bring the rest of my siblings from the village to stay with me so that I can easily train them too.
One evening, mama Oluchi my good neighbour ran to my house looking so excited
‘Mama Oluchi this one you are looking so excited what is happening, abi oga don surprise you with something hooge?’ I asked her curiously
She replied
“Stella, something good is about to happen,
My rich elder brother that stays abroad came to Nigeria in search for a good matured wife, a woman that will never cheat on him, that will be able to give him children and manage all his resources here in Nigeria while he will continue to stay abroad to hustle and be visiting her in Nigeria from time to time.
He has only two months to achieve his goal,
To find the right woman, marry/wed her, knack her belle before he goes”
We both laughed very loud at the “knack her belle part”😂
She added that
” I already told him that I have a very good and hardworking woman of 35 years in my compound that possesses all the qualities he mentioned
so he said he will be coming to my house next weekend just to see you, then if he likes you, the search will be over as he will marry you immediately, then you will become my sister in-law💃💃”
I just smiled and said let’s wait till then na and see how it goes…
At that point, I wasn’t even excited about the news because I stopped expecting anything good from men….
After all my experiences with Jerry and Mike, I had given up all hope on men!
The next weekend, Mr Tony mama Oluchi’s abroad elder brother came to his sister’s place as promised, then she brought him to my house.
Immediately he saw me, he smiled at me lovingly.
I gave him sit, he sat down and started asking me questions about myself….
I answered all his questions and even told him about the ones he didn’t ask
like how Jerry drugged and tried to ra*pe me back in the university days and how Mike deflowered me and got married to another woman.
He also told me all about himself and his experiences with women that has kept him away from marrying till this 40 years of age!
After our long conversation, he suggested that we go out somewhere for a drink and I obliged!
