THE ADVENTURE OF AKOR
Episode 23

While Akor was shouting, one of the nurse ran in and asked us what’s going on and I told her Akor is seeing ghost and she asked why I urinated on my body and I told her it was out of fear… ” I didn’t know they admitted two mad people in this ward” she murmured to herself and left then brought a doctor back with herself and the doctor look at what Akor was doing and asked the nurse to bring Akor’s folder… She went out and came back with the nurse I gave Akor’s card and the doctor wrote something on his folder while his card was handed over to me.
They left us and Akor was still busy crying… “I looked at him and felt like giving him a hot slap to shut him up. Leave women alone you will never listen. See where it has landed you, what’s up with all this your crying? If you don’t shut up this minute I promise I will remove one of your teeth”
While I was scolding Akor, some men came and told us they are transferring us to another ward… I said okay, and there carried Akor who refused to walk in a wheelchair…
We got to the place and guess what, it was the psychiatric unit… Immediately we approach the room allocated to us,I saw one of the mad man there dancing and I started laughing because I know our stay will be fun.
We got to the room and saw about 4 ward attendance suppressing one of the mad man that was being so stubborn… There tied him to the bunk and was pumping some injections in his a$$, I checked to see Akor’s reaction but his were closed…
Akor was finally given a bad spaceand I left to the visiting room to sit there because while in the room with Akor, one of the madmen was looking at me and licking his lips… “E be like say this one think say I be food ooo, I said to myself and ran out of the ward into the waiting room… There’s television, ludo, whot, football and other games in that room for those that their madness has reduce to play with…
I was there when one of the attendant walked up to me and told me my brother is pressed but have refused to go to the restroom… He handed a container to me and told me I should give it to him to urinate inside so I can discard it… I started stomping my feet and murmuring, but when I looked at the attendant he was smiling and told me if I am not careful I will be given my own bed space…
I quickly left him to see Akor, I gave him the container and left immediately because I couldn’t stand the sight of watching him urinate in a container for me to dispose…
I was in the waiting room when I saw Akor running towards me, sweating profusely… He came and I asked him what the problem was and he told me one of the madmen in his room drank his urine after he urinated in the container and kept it on the floor… I couldn’t contain myself and I started laughing out so loud
Immediately sighted 3 attendants running towards us I stopped laughing … They came and didn’t even ask what was happening but bundled Akor and landed him on his bed and I also saw one of the nurses there running to the ward… The next thing I heard was Akor’s voice screaming “I don die oooo”… After few minutes everywhere was quiet and the nurse came and told me he won’t be Awake for a long time… It was after she told me this that I realized my trouser was very wet because of what happened earlier… I quickly decided to leave the hospital to change my clothes and also freshen up at home… While on my way to the gate I saw Agnes wandering about in the hospital and I asked what’s up with her and she told me she has been looking for us and that she brought food. I collected the food from her and went under the nearest tree and started eating… She was staring at me in awe but I ignored her because I was so hungry…
When I finished eating I gave her the plates and she ask calmly “what will Akor eat now” I told her Akor won’t be awake till the next day… While we were still talking, I saw two of the attendant running towards me, I remembered how they treated Akor earlier, did you know what I did next? I remove my slippers and carried it in my hands and I started running towards the nearest fence…

Episode 24

I finally got to the fence and I threw my slippers over the fence but before I could jump over to the other side a security man grabbed one of my legs and started dragging it… “Do you want to kill me?” I ask him but he kept on dragging me… I finally got down from the fence and the attendants came to me and ask me why I was running that way, I didn’t answer them while I was already in a karate mode ready to fight.
We were calling to give you this list to buy those drugs for your brother when coming back… After they told me this I was so relieved and told them “una for no the run towards me like that na, I nearly break my waist trying to jump over this fence”… Please, what about my slippers that I threw behind the fence, can I get it back please? You can’t the security said… There’s a big river behind those fence, your slipper is gone…
Why didn’t you tell me when I was throwing it? What kind of customer services do you run in this place, I was scolding when the attendants looked at each other and one of them said to the other “shey this one no be madman like this?” The other one replied… Make we give am bed before him go craze finish come the give us extra work”
As soon as I heard that, before they finished talking I was already on my heels! running so fast that my legs almost touched my head… I ran to the extent that I ran past my house. I finally matched break and ran into our compound, immediately some of my neighbors saw me running towards them… They all took to their heels, some were running and falling and I stopped running and started looking at what they were doing and laughing so hard while trying to catch my breath. After there succeeded in getting into their rooms, I started feeling so much pains under my foot, that was when I realized I ran all the way from the hospital to my house barefooted…
At this point I was praying so God and hoping Vicky or her evil friends did not see me… Before I could finish praying, I saw Vicky’s car approaching me. I tried to run inside but she already saw me. What kind of day is this I yelled in pain… She didn’t even wait for God to attend to my prayers? Na wao, devil you wicked o! I said to myself.
I saw Vicky approaching me with so much anger in her eyes, I don’t know if my eyes were deceiving me or not but I thought I saw her with plank… Immediately I sighted that I ran inside my room and locked the door. She came to the door and started banging my door, yelling that I should open the door… I told her, ” baby please drop the weapon and I promise to open the door”
What are you talking about, which weapon are you talking about? Are you mad or something… I peeped through the window and saw that it was her handkerchief that was in her hands. I felt so embarrassed! What kind of day is this I said to myself again…
I finally opened the door and Vicky grabbed me by my shirt and gave me a thunderous slap… Immediately the slap landed I became deaf in one ear, I put one of my finger inside the ear trying to correct the blockage but she gave me another one On the second ear, immediately that one landed I knew if I don’t act fast I may receive permanent deafness in both ears…
I immediately started crying and calling my neighbors to come to my rescue before Vicky disorganize my face with slap… She lifted up her hands again but one of my neighbors who I didn’t see coming caught her hand. That moment was one the best moment of my life…
I got the opportunity to ask her why she’s trying to disfigure my face? Even if you don’t want me again don’t you think I need this face to attract other suitors? Sorry ladies I mean…
Suitors indeed, you are nothing but a terrible liar… You told me you have a container at sea, you told me so many lies about yourself and I was so foolish to notice that… I can’t believe you could do this to me… She said
Baby what are you talking about I said…
If you call me baby again, I promise to send you to hell she said crying… Why did you lie to me? Did you think I was with you because of money? Do you think it’s all girls that come into your life expecting a monetary gain? If I was after what you have I wouldn’t take so much stupid things you do… Akor, you have killed me, where do I start from… She said.
Seeing her weeping like that broke my heart so much, I went close to her and hugged her crying too… That my stupid neighbor that I initially thought was my helper was busy saying “shey una the whine me abi? Na film I dey watch abi na real life” he said laughing. I was eyeing him trying to tell him to please go… But this stupid boy stood there and was like… ” Aunty, I can’t believe you will forgive him just like that, upon your heart when him break you get mind the hug am”
Vicky heard all that, she pushed me away and head straight to her car. I tried to stop her from leaving but she pushed me aside and drove off…
I looked back and saw the guy smiling, I went and carried a big stone to break his head but when I started running towards him it felt like I was seeing a woman, I looked more to get a clearer view but didn’t see anybody, I stopped abruptly to fathom what just happened when I heard my gate closed behind me and I saw thesame neighbor coming from the gate… Did you know what happened next?
