STRUGGLING FOR LOVE 💖

in love with Adaobi 👩‍❤️‍👨

Chapter Two

my grandmother came inside as she’s still angry and started talking non stop not realizing her precious vase is broken. I decided to divert her attention away from the vase because I don’t want her to deal with Emeka too. I began to cry seriously while holding my leg up as she stopped talking and hurried inside to bring her first aid box. by the Time she comes out I have went to where the vase got broken and use out of it to tear my leg small to bring out blood in which Emeka stood in tears watching me as he doesn’t know what to do again. I told him not to bother that I will deal with it.

my grandma hurried out with the first aid kit and saw me beside the broken vase.

“chineke me! Obinna what happened again? how did this happened now? . she asked looking frightening all over as she took out Ausol to clean my leg and forehead.

“go bring water for kitchen for me!!. she shouted at Emeka who hurried to the kitchen to bring the water.

“grandma I’m sorry…. please I won’t do that again I was only trying to scare those boys away. I never knew it could result to this. I’m really sorry.

I said in tears begging her as she told me not to worry but I shouldn’t try that next time that did i want to give her name in the village. that I should be mindful of what I do to stranger.

“but mama fashion. Mama Ada is not a stranger but your meeting colleagues. I said in which she bluffed off.

“thank God you said meeting colleagues so, she’s not my friend and can never be my friend.

she carried me up as I sat on the couch back releasing my back and she asked how I ended up broken her vase and I lied to her that I wanted to come meet her in the room when I suddenly missed my step and hit my hand on the flower vase which landed on my leg.

“oh! my pikin! I told you already that I’m coming na ehn! if your mama call now how do you want me to explain to her that you went and fight for one ekwesu of a girl ha! Biko be careful next time ooo and I don’t want to see you near any girl in this village.

“but why mama fashion?.

“I have always told you that all this village girls can’t be accepted by your mother even me sef can’t tell you to date anyone of them.

“but, my mother grew up from here mama fashion. I asked.

“ehn! that was then and the girls of those days were greatly nurture unlike now. don’t worry there’s something you don’t know about some girls in this village in which I will be telling you some day most especially Ada.

She looked at Emeka while packing the broken vase which makes me understand that she doesn’t want to tell me while he is around. she stood up and carried the first aid kit to one side as she went outside saying she is going to pick her beans I made her pour away. mama fashion could be nice and wicked at times, will I say it’s old age that is making her behave that way or that’s just her nature and personalities.

I suddenly felt Emeka hugged as he began to kiss me here and there in which I pushed him away asking what is wrong with him as I’m not a gay for him to be kissing me like that.

“I’m just grateful jor ha! if not for you ehn! your grandmother would have just roasted me alive. he said while laughing continuously.

“maybe I should go and just tell her the truth then. I said pretending as I tried placing my leg on the floor as he held it back while pleading.

“no vex na! I no go ever try am again aswear! infact I will bring bush meat for you if I go to the farm tomorrow. he said.

“I don’t want your bush meat that will not reach me. I said laughing because I know he’s lying about bringing me bush meet because this is not his first time of promising and fail.

we both laughed in which my grandma entered as she went to the kitchen telling me not to laugh much in other not to trigger pains on my injured face and leg. infact it even makes me laughed the more as I covered my mouth with a throw pillowcases.

“if you know you want to give me something then let me request on my own. I said in which he accepted as he asked what I want.

I told him to bring his ear down to me as I whispered some words to him.

“ehn! obi…obi! how many times did I call you?

I ignored him as he continues saying.

“is as if this one you’re facing now is preamble abi, don’t worry by the time all your teeth removed because of her maybe your eyes will clear. is Ada the….

“shiiiiiii.

I said shutting him up from calling her name in which I pretended again to be angry as I called on my grandma that I have something to tell her.

“ha! stop now!. okay…. okay… fine I go help you do am but if anything happen I nor dey there oooo I dey talk my own now oooo I nor dey oooo Obinna. he said warning me diligently as I nodded my head to let him no know I won’t put him in trouble.

“you called me Obinna. my grandma said standing at the kitchen door as I told her it’s slip of tongue.

SOME DAYS LATER

i sat beside my grandma as I watched the dance of the village square dancer as they dressed in their culture attire twisting their body and carrying each other up to the other side displaying different acrobatic step.
I was not comfortable with all what they were doing as it looks to boring to me but my grandma is all looking excited watching it as some of the people around jubilate and praising them. I looked around and wish I could see something that would just make me leave this place. my eyes fell on some of the village girls dancing at the other side as I saw Ada among them also dancing, immediately I stood up my grandma pinned my leg down asking where I’m going to.

“I’m really pressed mama fashion I need to urinate. I said while pretending holding my pim pim.

“oya let go I will follow you. she said as a hand tapped my back as I turned and see Emeka.

“don’t worry grandma! Emeka will follow me instead don’t worry. I said why pulling Emeka after me as we left the scene.

“where are we going now city boy. he asked as I draw him in the midst of the crowd while looking back if my grandma is not seeing me as I realized she has been stretching her neck looking around for me as we crawl to the other side where the girls are dancing.

“wait oooo I thought you said you wanted to urinate?. he asked me as I bursted into laughter.

“so you actually fell for my acting just now too. I said in which he looked up at the girls and then realized why I drag him over to the place.

“now I understand. he said looking at Ada and back to me smiling.

“How about what I told you to do for me?. I asked him.

“that’s why I came to meet you na!

I asked him about it as he told me to go and wait for her along the partway to the stream that she will come and meet me there.

“how sure are you Emeka?. I asked to be sure because I know him to be an expert liar.

He said if I don’t believe him that I should forget it as he walked away from me angrily and I ran after him persuading him to stay that I believe him that I will do as he said but I will greatly be disappointed if he ended up wasting my precious time at the said place if she doesn’t show up.

“I said don’t worry, she will come I have talked to her already. you better go there now since no one is going to the stream for now so it will be a great advantage for you two to talk better before they finished this festival.

I nodded my head as I believe him this time around running downward to stream rejoicing that I’m finally gotten a chance to speak with her even when I thought she might not be showing up. but let me just believe Emeka this time around. I saw a rose flower along the way as I plug one holding it up demonstrating how I will be giving her to accept my love. I sat at on a rock under a tree as I placed the rose beside me smiling and looking forward to the part where she would show up.

After several hours of sitting that I have begun to fed up and thinking of going back to home disappointed when I suddenly see her appear from afar alone smiling as she approached me.

I felt like jumping for joy and carrying her up as she finally walked up to me and landed a hot slap on my face as I looked shocked and smiled at her accepting it to be love slap.
