“what are you doing here Ada?. Mama fashion asked looking at them as they entered.
“she’s my cousin.” Vero said smiling and greeted Mama fashion.
I couldn’t keep my eyes off Ada as she looks more beautiful than ever.
“Kingsley, take your eye off her, she’s not your type though.” Vero said in a cunny look while Ada just smiles seating down.
“you can imagine this life ooo ehn, so, ha! this is your uncle daughter you were telling me some days ago that she is coming back to Nigeria Ada?.” Mama fashion asked as she nodded her head.
“but, Mama fashion I thought you….
“my daughter, you’re welcome. what is your own name?. She asked immediately to distract my question.
“Veronica ma.”
“what a lovely name for a beautiful girl. but, this your hair wey you cut no good oo when you’re not a boy.” Mama fashion said laughing as she looked her from head to toe.
Vero smiled at her telling her she would make her hair back if that’s what would make her love her more.
“it’s okay. infact, Kingsley mother told me a lot about you.” Grandma said making Vero to blush.
“I’m glad she did ma”. she answered as she brought out jewelries and handling them to Mama fashion.
“ehn, my daughter, all these for me? thank you so much.
she took them out one after the other checking while admiring it.
“you’re a good girl!.” She said standing up and carrying the jewelries box to her room.
I felt God is really on my side for working things together for my good. He brought Vero my way to be able to connect with Ada without stress. someone that I’m even thinking of calling by all means and now she’s here sitting at my front smiling.
“snapped out from your thinking Kingsley!.” Vero said standing at my front to sit on my lap.
I spread my legs immediately as she understood I don’t want her to sit. she sat beside me looking at Ada whose head is now down.
“where do you two know each other”. Vero asked looking at me.
“as far my grandma knows her so you should know is from the village.” I answered.
“oh! I see. I have once been to the village I think once. she said.
“okay.” I answered.

she looked at Ada and back to me.
“are you the obi she has been telling me?.” She looked at Ada who smiled.

“he is not!.” Ada said interrupting me as I looked at her surprisingly.
“what do you mean Ada?.” I asked her.
“come on, don’t question me Kingsley, we are friends you know that already. Veronica, there’s two obi in my village but he’s not the obi I’m talking about.
“huh!….” I looked at her like what is she saying.
“I was kind of surprised with the way he is looking at you. Vero said.
“never mind him, we are just friends back in the village.

I kept quiet for a while and believe Vero could have told her lies that we are dating for her to reacted this way.
“so, Ada since you said he’s not the one then maybe I should introduce him to you as you already know……”
“I said it! I knew you could have said something to her about us which is not true Vero. I said bluntly.
“what do you think I’m going to say? “. She asked laughing. I just want to tell her about you that you are my boyfriend to be.
“I know you’re joking”. I said in a strong face.
She bend down to my left ear and whisper to me.
“don’t do this Kingsley, remember my cousin is here so, don’t try to humiliat me. please accept to be my man come…….”
I pushed her away as my grandma shouted seeing what I did.
“do you want to injure her obi? why will you pushed her like that? what of she smash her heard on the floor? you better be careful!.” She said angrily looking at Ada.
“mama fashion, you don’t know why I pushed her it is because……”
“come on shut up and apologize to her or else I will take that thing out of your way and you will not see it again.
I stood up in which I understand what she just said as I looked at Ada and walked to her dragging her out behind me.
“where are you going? “. my grandma asked while calling on Ada to come back inside.
“what is going on?” Vero asked looking confused.

“let go off my hands! “. Ada shouted pulling my hand off her.
I stopped beside a fuelling station as some passerby watches us.
“I’m sorry. ”
I said as she eventually stand right looking at those watching us as she screamed at them to get out and stop looking.
“are we shooting movie here, come on get out from here!”. she shouted.
I calmed her down and told her to let me take her to a cool place so that we can settle things out.
“do you want my helper to chase me out of their house obi? why will you dragged me out just now even when you know your grandma is also around. I don’t think I will want to have anything to do with you again! not even with the fact that you’re even having affair with my cousin! so,…..”
“no, Ada don’t believe whatever Vero might have said to you. she just wanted to pinned herself on me, I do not love her in which she knows please…….”
“I don’t want to hear anything from you again obi. you know what, just forget about me, forget about my past infact let this be the last time we will ever talk again! I don’t want my career and life to crumble just because of you.” She said looking so frightening and scared as she cried begging me to let her go.
“but, why? why is so many people coming in between our love why can’t I love you peacefully, why? why Ada? when I have thought I have finally get to settled down with you.”
I said also in tears not minding the environment we are.
“you two should go home and settle yourself na! ” A young guy said passing us.
“bros, she say she no love you, na by force”. A man said.
” shora fun óbinrin ooo!!!.” I heard some group of guys saying even if I don’t understand what they meant.
“can you let us go back now, or you still want people to keep on putting mouth into what we’re saying or you like how they kept saying trash when they don’t know what is actually going on. She said, walking back home as I followed her.
I asked if truly she meant what she said about not having anything doing with me again as she answered that she really means it and I should make sure I apologise to Veronica because she doesn’t want her to suspect anything about us .
“she’s a nice girl and I don’t want to betray her because of you. ”
“but, you never did wrong Ada?.
“I know but, I just don’t want to repay their kindness back in hatred if I should let her sad by taking you from her.
I kept repeating it to her that I don’t love Veronica and it’s just a coincidence that she ends up being her cousin.
“but, she loves you and tha says it all.” She said as we entered out compound.
“you can’t force me to love who my heart doesn’t beat for. ” I answered.
“then you should sacrifice love for love.” She said opening the door.
“what do you mean by that?.”
She didn’t answer as she suddenly pretended to be angry and ran to Veronica telling her not to mind me that she thinks I’m actually out of my mind.
“what kind of stupid mind is that!. ” Mama fashion asked angrily slapping Ada’s face.
I wanted to jumped at her front but Ada gave me a warning look as I stepped back in annoyance looking at Veronica who just sat looking at her.
“I’m sorry Mama fashion.” Ada pleaded.
“ask for forgiveness obi”. She said looking at me as I was so angry within me but just have to do it for her happiness.
“I’m sorry Vero and grandma!.” I said walking out on them going to my room.
“come back Kingsley, I’m not angry at you.” Vero said calling me.
Vero looked at Ada in annoyance.
“let us go home!.” She said in which Ada stood up and greeted Mama fashion who didn’t answer.
“my regards to your parents Vero my dear.”
She called Ada back.
“I thought you said you’re a changed girl Ada, but it seems you really want to manipulate my grandson life again and I won’t let you have your way this time around.” She said angrily at Ada as she goes out.

I think I’m getting to understand the chemistry between Kingsley and Ada. I know Ada is just pretending at Kingsley house, his grandmother reaction and contenance at her really tells she wasn’t welcome by her. I really want to know if truly she is lying about not having anything to do with Kingsley by lying they were two of them in their village when she do tell me about one obi.
I just hope it’s not so because, I won’t take it likely with her at all as I have already seen myself in Kingsley family and no other person can take my place.
I looked at Ada and myself and realized she’s more prettier than me. but, it can’t possibly be because of her beauty that makes him love her.
“Ada are you okay?”. I asked as she smiles nodding her head telling me she’s fine in which it is clearly written on her face that she is not looking happy and brighter unlike when we were going to Kingsley house.
“I can’t let her have my man back before going back to school, I must make sure Kingsley fall in love with me by all means even if is to clear (ki ll) Ada off my way. Kingsley is mine alone and not for any other person.
“we’re getting down here.”
I snapped back from my thinking as we alight from the Uber.
