The issue soon escalated that we became enemies. I tried to convince my Dad and other stakeholders involved in our issue: My Uncles, Dad and Mom that I was the true father of Sonia’s Twins but they wouldn’t believe me. They kept on saying Brother Bode Divorced his wife with his pregnancy.
One fateful day, I was served a letter from one of the courts in Nigeria. My brother had invited me to court for the issue resolution.
When my Dad heard about the issue of court sitting and other things, He ordered my Brother to drop the case as he suggested A family meeting and dialogue for the resolution of the dispute between me and my brother. At first, my brother disagreed but later agreed and a date for the Family meeting and dialogue was fixed.
The day of the meeting soon arrived. I was the center topic of the meeting. My parents accused me of being a betrayal and a liar. My Dad stated that what I did in Yoruba land is a Taboo because it is not proper for a brother to have anything to do with his brother’s wife. I AM MARRIED TO MY BROTHER’S WIFE
EPISODE 22
I narrated how I got to know that I was adopted:
As a child, I had always felt like I didn’t quite fit in with my family. I was different from my siblings in a way that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. But I loved my family, and I never wanted to upset them by asking too many questions about why I felt so different. So I kept my questions and doubts to myself.
One day, when I was about 15, I was looking for a box of cookies in my father’s closet when I came across a letter addressed to him from an adoption agency. I knew immediately what it was, and I felt a wave of dread wash over me.
I felt like the ground had fallen out from under me. I had so many questions, but I was afraid to ask any of them. My parents had always been so loving and supportive, and I didn’t want to upset them by bringing up the topic of adoption. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I needed to know the truth.
After narrating my ordeal, tears drips down my cheeks. “Why did you keep all these from me all these while?” Was it because of my Mother’s property who was a Single mother that was willed to me before she died and you took over?” I confronted my Dad. “Now tell me who is a more tricky person and the liar here” I shouted.
Everyone kept mute. They were shocked. I didn’t hesitate to stop there at all. I turned to Brother Bode as I continued
“And as for you, don’t you think you are a wicked person? How can you treat a woman who truly loves you despite your Incompleteness?” I said. “Incompleteness!” Sonia exclaimed. She was present at the meeting.
“Yes, within the short period I spent in his house, I discovered that Brother Bode can’t father a child due to some medical complications” I revealed as I narrated how I got to know:
It was a hot day, and I was helping my brother clean out his room. I saw his brief case and decided to see if There will be money to pilfer…
