“Margaret I don’t seem understand this bad blood between you and your husband.” Mrs Grace Adachaba said to her daughter . “I remembered how the two of you were inseparable, how I and your dad tried to stop your marriage .” Margaret mum said ,as they sat outside the incubation room.
Margaret folded her hands across her chest , she seemed lost and unawares of whatever her mum had just said .
“Maggie what are you thinking about ? ” Mrs Grace asked puzzled” Have I been talking to myself all this while ? what’s going on between you and Jacob ?” she reechoed.
“Mum it’s a long story .” Margaret said vehemently.
“Well we’re in the ward all night , we are not going anywhere,so start talking.” Mr Adachaba said , folding her palms into her laps .
“So mum , my husband has been blinded by his parents .” Margaret said solemnly .
“How do you mean ?”
“Mum my father and mother in-law want me and my baby dead .” Maggie grumbled .
“Stop talking nonsense I know I don’t like them and they some like us , but then talking about death in a serious thing .” Mrs Margaret was unhappy with her daughter’s assumption .
“Mum the doctor who died in his office early this evening confronted him .” She whispered.
“confront who ?” Mrs Adachaba asked .
“Confronted my father in-law , sent them out of the hospital, he told him, that the doctor would see , and now he’s dead .”
“You’re over imagining my daughter, don’t spoil your family with your own hand .” Mrs Grace warned her daughter .
Margaret decided to let her mother be , who would believe all the things she had seen in the past days .
She saw the door to the incubation room , creaked and opened but she didn’t see anyone enter .
Margaret didn’t even excuse herself from her mum she ran into the room, she couldn’t find anyone in the room, she felt a. strong presence of another entity,
she rushed to her child , who had had been turned facing the ground , the baby was struggling to breath , her mother rushed into the room .
“What is that” Mrs Grace asked Maggie . ” Who turned the baby face down ? is baby breathing that way ?” Mrs Grace asked , Margaret was too terrified to answer her mother . the computer on the incubator signalled nurses at the nurse station that something was wrong , they got to the room to see Margaret carrying her baby .
“Madam that’s wrong you cannot take the baby out of the incubator.” The nurse said with a frown .
“There’s somebody in the room , somebody that wants to harm my baby , they pulled the vital signs cables plugged to his body .” They both looked at Maggie , both thought she was crazy .
“Madam put the baby down , there’s no one in the ward , we think you’re stressed and imagining things .” Then senior nurse said .
“No am Okay, I saw someone walk into the room .” Maggie insisted.
“Okay Mrs Margaret we have to return the baby into its incubator, it’s harmful for him to be outside .” The nurse said as she collected the baby from Margaret. And placed him im the incubator.
“Mrs Margaret you and your mother have to leave here , You’re not supposed to be in this place , you can bring introduce infection into the room .” Margaret refused to move , she couldn’t leave her baby alone not for a minute .
“No ma I can’t leave my child ,there’s an evil spirit here .”
She insisted. The nurses stood their ground , normally the baby was to be alone in the incubator. but Margaret was giving them a hard time .
On the ceiling of the room , Nike glued herself to , like a spider , her yellow eyes glittered like touch light . Her teeth were shining, glittering under the bright fluorescent bulb , as it walked on the ceiling with all fours like a cat would usually work on the ground . It came down from the roof and stood six feet tall , Margaret recognised her shape despite all the furs on her body .
“See her up there , see her !” At first the women didn’t see what Margaret was pointing to , even her mother thought she had gone nut, it was a woman with head that looked like a cat , with dark black furs .
“Meeew! Meeew!” She cried as she made her way towards Margaret and her baby.
It jumped to the floor , sharp claws began to shoot out from its finger , it bared its white teeth ,it crouched down , and it’s furs began to rise . the baby began to scream .
The cat human being with black fur , began to walk towards the baby incubator, Margaret stood between and her baby , the cat flung her away , she crashed an empty incubator . She threw of the nurses against the wall , so hard she fractured her ribs .The second nurse escaped from the room , the cat began to walk towards the baby in the incubator.
The baby cried so loud , Margaret could hear her baby’s cry but she couldn’t get herself from the ground .
then the baby incubator began to shake and rattle ,as the humanoid struggled break through the glass incubator, to get the baby
The new born baby was screaming at the top of her voice inside the incubator.
Mrs Grace couldn’t believe her eyes she broke into prayers, calling on the host of heaven for intervention .
Then the whole hospital went peach black , there was a loud spark and a power outage , Margaret crawled to the incubator in the dark , she helped herself up , and felt with her hands for her baby , she only touched the soft blanket , her baby was gone .
“Mummy she took my baby ! mummy my baby !” Margaret fell down and collapsed.
