IS SHE MY GRANDMOTHER?
EPISODE 7
I was not really happy that I ran away from home. I was just a helpless child going through a lot at that time. The woman I met was my angel. That day was the first day I will ever eat sumptuous meal ever since my parents died. When I was with my grandmother, I suffered malnutrition. At times, I would eat morning food around 4pm depending on the amount of money I make after hawking her fruits. In as much as I regretted running away from her, I don’t wish to ever go back. But the Woman I met was a very different person compared to my grandmother. Despite the fact that i was a stranger to her, she was caring and nice.
The woman took me in and gave me food and a place to sleep. She was so kind and gentle and I felt safe with her. I slept like a baby that night.
The next morning, the woman told me that she wanted to help me. She said my story touched her heart and she has discussed with her husband who happens to be a Pastor on phone. She said she would send me to school so that I could get an education. I was so happy and relieved.
Few days later, The woman helped me get enrolled in school and she also provided me with clothes and books. She even gave me some money so that I could buy food and other necessities. She was my Angel. She became my guardian as she guided me through my secondary and University education.
The woman was like a guardian angel to me. She was always there for me and she made sure that I had everything I needed. I am now a certified Medical doctor.
I am now in my twenties and I have a good job and a happy life. I owe it all to that kind woman who helped me when I was scared and helpless young girl. I will never forget her and I will be forever grateful for her kindness.
I know you would ask of my Grandmother. Yes, I went back to see her but when I got there, it was her grave I met.. I was told she died of depression and stroke. I cried and wept bitterly. She was bad to me in the past hence she was the only family member i knew .The whole house and compound has now turned into Bushes with no occupant!
