“Check fb, twitter, Instagram, tiktok and even Facebook now…” She said.
“Why? What’s happening?” I asked, and took my phone up to my face.
“Check what’s happening…” She muttered, and I entered Tiktok briskly.
I was trending on Tiktok and other social media platforms.
And why?
It was cause of my promise,, so petty!,, never knew some stu.pid humans would go extra miles for useless and unrelevant things.
What was trending was #RosePromise…
The hell?!
I guess they were all giving me an hint that they recalled my promise, and that, I better reminisce and not break it.
Don’t worry, I won’t date Axel,, what a promise. Like it isn’t that easy.
People were watching me everywhere. The school and the media… I had to be wise,, I just didn’t want to leave school cause of love. My parents worked hard for it.
“Oh goodness…” I muttered, and threw my phone on the bed. I laid down heavily on the bed and looked at the ceiling.
“That Axel,, Such a trashy a*s.hole… It wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t follow me!” I said.
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!” I screamed, angrily.
Monday***
As i walked with Lily, to class. I noticed people looking at me. Some would point two of their fingers to their eyes, and point that same fingers to me… which verbally meant, they were watching me.
Date Axel and leave the Bridge ford… was what I read in their petty minds.
We finally got to class and I sat down quietly. Many were looking at me, and murmuring all sorts of things I didn’t hear, and never gave a damn about.
I had been stealing glances at Lily for a while now. Perhaps, cause my mind had been tickling me to say something about what I saw her doing with Vin and why they were in such a stupid relationship.
“Uh… Lily?” I called, slowly.
Lily looked at me, with a beaming face.
“I..I…saw…Vin…I mean, Vin.. What of Vin,, why isn’t he in school yet?” I quickly changed my motive. I looked around stylishly before looking back at her.
“He went to the airport” She answered softly.
“Oh..” I muttered, and took the americano latte I bought earlier at the cafe to my lips.
I kept the drinking straw inside my mouth and began to sip.
“I guess he went to take a package there” I said.
“No,, he went there to pick his girlfriend…
Out of shock, I took my mouth of the straw, and spewed the latte which filled my mouth,, to her face.
“Eww…” She mumbled.
I widened my eyes, and quickly wiped it with my hands. I wasn’t with any hanky.
“No,, stop… your hands? What are you doing?” She asked.
“I’m sorry… It was a mistake” I said, and took my hands off her face.
She sighed, and shook her head, took out a small towel from her bag which she used in wiping the spitted latte on her face.
She looked at me and I quickly took my face away.
“Why are you staring at me? Is there anything you wanna say? Just say it already and stop putting me in a tight corner” She said.
I looked at her.
“Vin…” I started pretty, slowly.
“What about Vin? I just told you he went to pick his girlfriend from the airport” She said.
“Yes,, about that… Vin and you,, what’s your relationship? Why did Vin do that to you when he had a girlfriend?… No,, that’s not even the right question” I shook my head.
“Okay,, I mean… Why did you both do that when Vin has a girlfriend?”
“Pardon?” She asked, confusedly.
“That night at the club, I saw you and Vin having s*x…”
Lily blinked her eyes.
“We were simply h*rny and had s*x,, Nothing bad there…. We are just friends” She said.
“Friends? What kind of friends does that?… Ah,, you both are friends with benefit?” I asked.
“Shh… keep your voice down,, please… before someone thinks otherwise” She begged.
“Why? Ain’t I saying the truth?” I asked.
She sighed and nodded.
“And what if I say you are? Yes, it’s the truth. We are friends with benefit. Meaning, we satisfy our s*x urges but no strings attached,, you okay now?”
“Why do you do that? I mean,, its trashy… and stu.pid,, Why not date instead?”
“He got a girlfriend. She went to Canada to live with her elder brother for a while. It’s been a year. Anyways,, she just came back. Since Vin couldn’t fight his urge for s*x,, I was there for him… Vin is satyromanaic”
“What!!”
“Sshhh! Yes,, He has excessive urge for s*x. If his drugs isn’t there,, I’m there for him. Anyways,, keep it a secret”
I didn’t say anything. I was already thinking about it. I inhaled deeply and just then, the professor walked in.
“Good morning to you, students..” He greeted.
“Good morning, Prof. Elliot” We all replied.
“The English students are gonna join us for today’s class. I’m supposed to have them tomorrow but my wife just gave birth…
“Awwnnnn!!! Prof Elliot!” Everyone screamed, joyously while some with sarcasm.
Prof. Elliot laughed, and gestured them to keep quiet. Just then, the English students walked in…
I sighed and kept my head low.
“Now, we can start…” He said.
I looked around, but I didn’t see Axel.
“He’s now missing class?” I scoffed.
I felt someone tap me, and I quickly turned around.
“Hi” The person said.
I arched my brows.
“Don’t you remember me?” He asked.
“What?” I muttered.
“From the club. I wanted to talk to you but you left quickly in the car..”
“Oh… The guy who was also with us at the club?” I asked.
“Yeah… You’re Rose, right?”
I smiled and nodded.
He also gave a warm smile which made his handsome face look so cute, and attractive.
“I’m Pete” He cooed.
