HER GHOST 7
For months I didn’t get to see Jenny and my mind was at peace. I thought it was all over not until one day I got to see her again. That day I was at the mall with Joy, when I suddenly had this eerie feeling. It was as if someone was watching.
Countless times I turned and searched around with my eyes, but I wasn’t able to point out anyone. As everyone was busy getting whatever they came for. The feeling that someone was actually staring at my became so strong that I had to make it known to Joy.
“Please Joy let’s leave now.”
I said uneasily.
“Is anything the matter?”
She asked calmly.
“No. Just that I am not feeling too well.”
“But you don’t look sick…”
From the look I gave her she was quick to understand that something was actually wrong.
.”. it’s fine.”
We paid for the things we got and immediately left. Getting to the road we flagged down a taxi.
I made to get in, but stopped halfway and kept on staring into space.
“What are you staring at? please get in”
Joy said but my mind was far away.
“Madam if you no wan go talk ma comot here”
The driver yelled angrily, which brought me back to my senses.
All through our journey home I was cold. I didn’t say a word to Joy nor the driver who kept on apologizing for shouting at me earlier.
“She was there Joy. I saw her”
I said to Joy immediately we stepped into our room. She needed not ask who was talking for the look on my face said it all.
“What crime did I commit? Why do I keep on seeing her. I am gradually losing my mind Joy ”
I said admist tears.
“It’s okay Abby you don’t have to cry. Everything is going to the fine”
Joy said rubbing my back gently like a mother trying to console her wailing child.
“You have to be strong. This isn’t the time to be weak, you’ve got to face your fears.”
I slowly rested my head on her shoulder. Slowly I felt better. I then decided that it was time I face Jenny. She was my fear, and what do they say about fear?
Face it!
I needed not to wait for long before she showed up again.
“What do you want from me?”
I yelled angrily. The anger I felt was greater than the fear I had for her.
“Are you scared?”
She asked with an evil grin.
“Don’t tell me you are scared. You have always been the tough one remember. You better get used to it, for you will be seeing a lot of me these days dear friend”
She let out a hysterical laughter and slowly she was gone just as she came.
I stood rooted in a spot trembling with fear, like dry leaves in the harmattan season.
“I can’t take this anymore .”
I yelled and collapsed into a chair close by.
To be continued.
What does Jenny want from Abby again hmm
