Idris and his family were in the living room having their night devotion.
Jewel and joan listened with rapt interest as Beauty told the story of Ananias and Sapphira
“So, what is our topic for tonight? She asked
“Bridle your tongue.” Jewel answered
“Very correct…..And our text is taken from??
“Acts chapter 5 Vs 1-6″Jewel answered again
“That’s not right, it’s Acts chapter 5vs1-11″Joan answered
“Yes… Joan is right”Beauty said with a smile
“Okay…. What did you girls learn from today’s teaching.”
“I learnt that lying leads to destruction.”Joan answered
“I learnt that we should always be truthful.”Jewel answered
“That’s wonderful.. God will help us bridle our tongues in Jesus name”Beauty said
“Amen”They chorused
“Okay, honey please pray for us. “Beauty said to Idris
“Father lord we thank you for the gift of life.
Thank you for this wonderful family. Thank you for the provision of food and shelter. Lord, we ask that you forgive us all our sins. Protect and guide us.please don’t allow evil overwhelm us in Jesus wonderful name we have prayed.”
“Amen”
“Okay girls… Time to go to bed.”Beauty said
“Good night mom, good night Dad. “They both said and left for their room.
Just then a call came into Beauty’s phone. It was her younger brother calling.
“Hello, Emma how are you doing?
“Sis, am fine but mama is not. ”
“What is wrong with her? Beauty asked alertedly standing to her feet.
“She fainted last night and was rushed to the hospital. Though she’s awake now but the doctor said her tumor has gotten worse and she needs a surgery which will cost 2.5millon.”Emma said.
“What? 2.5millon?oh my God… Okay, don’t worry. I will come to the hospital first thing in the morning.”
“Alright Sis”
Beauty dropped the call and fall back to the couch. They don’t even have up to that amount in their account. They just bought a house three months back. “God, what’s all this?
“Hey, take it easy okay… It’s going to be alright,okay.”Idris who heard everything said as he pulled her into a hug.

Idris walked into Vicky’s office and met her busy with some paperwork,He then took his seat.
“I was told by the secretary that you wanted to see me”He said
Vicky pushed an envelope towards him.He looked at her to get a clue of what she was up to but she looked indifferent. He picked up the envelope and opened it. It was a promotion letter and an increment in salary with his name on it. “I don’t get it”He said in confusion
“You will be promoted to the post of manager with a salary of 350k per month. I will also give you a cheque of 2million Maura if only you will accept my request. “She said
“And what if I say no? He asked
She scoffed and then pushed another envelope towards him.
He took the envelope and opened it. It was a dismissal letter.
“You are going to sack me if I don’t sleep with you?
“The choice is yours Mr Idris. “Vicky replied nonchalantly
“Why are you doing this to me? Don’t you have any conscience at all?
“You may leave my office.”
Idris angrily left her office. He entered into his office and started pacing to and from.
“God, what do I do? Am in a fix right now.”He sat down and started tapping his fingers on the desk.
“The two million will go a long way in saving my mother in-law,and I don’t want to loose my job….. But I can’t cheat on my wife.. What to do, what to do. “He continued tapping his fingers on the desk lost in thought.
