Josiah left Nkechi room in annoyance and promised to deal with her next morning. He came out from his room as early as possible to go beat Nkechi. He took the whip he bought some months back because of the troublesome road encountered that do create unnecessary scene. Rihannat came out at that moment and saw her father going towards Nkechi room in annoyance. She tiptoe back to her mother room and informed her. Immediately, faridah stood up and go out to confirm what is going on. She did hear their voices yesterday night, but she felt it was just a normal conversation between them. She stood outside Nkechi room with her daughter as they listen to whatever might be going on but instead it is Nkechi m**n they could hear.
“What is going on? I thought you said you saw him going inside in anger.” Faridah asked.
“Yes mother, I didn’t lie ooo I saw him vividly going towards her door in annoyance.”
“Then, what is now going on?. But this woman is so stupid ooo how can she be having s*x in the presence of her children. Didn’t she have any sense at all.”
Meanwhile, inside Nkechi room is not about m*****g. The m*****g was an act by Nkechi to distract the attention of faridah from knowing what might be going on in her room. She definitely knew she would hear their noise while exchanging words. She told Rebecca to cover her sister eyes from witnessing what is going on. She knew Josiah would come to her room as he has said last night and she had also prepared her fighting weapon before sleeping last night. Immediately he opened her door he slipped on the cream poured on the floor. He hit his head on the carpet and yelled out in pain and that’s where the m*****g of Nkechi started.
“You know already that you don’t have power you This old man. Don’t allow me to ki ll you before your time abeg.” She whispered into his ear as she pinned his head on the bed.
“Nkechi!!.” He called.
“Why calling me? You think I will wait for you to come beat me, or is it because I have been respecting you too much. You better know your stand with me or else I will break you into pieces. You can ask about me from your wives.”
“After everything I have being doing for you and your children, is this what you want to use and repay me? So you have been hidden your character all these years. And I was told but I debunk it to spurious. That they shouldn’t count you among the troublesome women, not knowing your own is even more than their own. Nkechi! It’s today, you Will leave my house. I can never have you under my roof anymore.” He said freeing himself from her.
“The m*****g as gone down o mother.” Rihannat said still listening at the door.
Josiah retaliated furiously when Nkechi slapped his face. He pushed her to the wall aggressively and she hit her head. She wanted to fight back and realized her power is getting weaker.
“Mother!!!!.” Rebecca cried out.
“This is surely fight and not what we thought earlier.” Faridah said and started banging the door. What is going on? Mama Chinedu! Mama Chinedu!!!.”
Josiah angered became calmed immediately he realized Nkechi bleeding from her head. He carried her and sprang the door opened and collided with faridah at the door. She fell down and stood up immediately following her husband.
“How did this happen? Why is she bleeding? Subuhalnulah! .
“Open the back door for me!.” He shouted at her and he carried Nkechi inside whose eye is wide opened as if in a wonder land without uttering a word.
He ran inside and put on a blue round neck top and dashed out into his car. Before faridah will come out he has droves off in speed.
ADEBIMPE
I told my father about going to see Mr Charles today, so he woke up early to get dressed before the right timche to proceed reach. I decided to call him before going even though I had refused his call since yesterday. He didn’t even allowed it beep twice before picking.
“Hello sir.”
“Good morning dear, I’m….”
“I am coming over to your house today with my father sir.” I said interrupting him.
“Your father? But…why?.”
“It is not a tangible issue. He requested to see you because of how you got me rescued.”
“Oh! I got scared at first. He shouldn’t be grateful to me, instead he should thank God for it. And moreover, it’s still the same God that revive you.”
“I know sir. But…I hope my father request can be granted.”
“Of course! Why not, you can come over. I wanted to take the police to your useless co wife house to be arrested.”
“Why? For what? She didn’t do any harm sir.”
“What do you mean she didn’t do anything. She proclaimed you de ad! She said you just di ed and that was why she came to see me while shedding crocodile tears.”
I paused for some minutes in awe to what he said.
“Why will she say I am de ad? Did she even know where I am to have proclaim such horrific statement.”
“I think when you get here, we can talk more about it. Because I don’t seems to get what is going on.”
“Alright, no problem sir. I….I mean we will be coming soon.”
“Okay, bye.”
“Bye sir.”
I dropped my phone on the center table and imagine what mama Chinedu really said to me Charles. I tried to think through on why she would say such against me, when is not that I had any issue with her. I checked my time and stood up to start going immediately. Mostly to hear about the de ath statement labelled upon me.
“Father, I am ready ooo we need to go now.” I shouted to his hearing.
He came outside a minute later as we made our way to Mr Charles house. We were already in the taxi when my phone rang multiple times showing my husband contact. I intentionally didn’t pick it because I’m not ready to listen to whatever he might be ready to say. It rang again and my father told me to pick it just to hear what he has to say.
“Yeeeesss.” I answered caressing my face.
“Bimpe, Adebimpe my love plea…”
I look at my phone screen to be sure that it’s Josiah that is actually on call with me. I bursted out laughing in the car. Some passenger looked at me in wonder, definitely, wondering what is going on with it.
“Why laughing like that Adebimpe.” Father asked.
I didn’t answer and placed the phone back to my ear to continue listening to his acting performance.
“Are you listening to me at all?.” He asked probably because of my silence.
“Yes, I can.”
“Mama Chinedu has been hospitalized.”
“So,.” Ehn’ wait! You said what?.” I asked really shocked.
“We are at DaveRose Hospital.”
“What happened to her?.” I asked curiously.
“It is a long story. But she doesn’t have more time to live again; says by the doctor. She begged to call you, because she has something to confess to you.”
“Confess!.” I asked loudly. Driver stop! Stop please!.” I shouted after ending the call.
“What is the problem Adebimpe?.” Father asked confusedly.
“Father, something bad as happened to Mama Chinedu.”
“And how is that your concern?.”
I paid the driver and we get down from the car.
“When we get there you will understand also.”
