Chapter 8
“Daddy am sorry, i have to go” i said as i left the house.
“Favour, you dad begged you stay right? My aunt asked when i entered her car.
” yes, he didn’t want me to leave “I said.
“That’s better, you should get ready to take over your mom’s company ” my aunt said.
“Aunt folakemi, my dad is already managing the company, there is no need for me to take over”I said.
“Favour, tell me you are joking, so you don’t want to take over your mom’s company, i pity you , do you want maria to inherit the company your mom left for you” my aunt said.
“No, i don’t want maria to inherit it” i said.
” if you don’t want that stupid girl to inherit it, you better be wise and take over the company, you also know that ,that girl has bewitched your father ” my aunt said.
“Ok sis, i will take over the company, when i graduate, that God am in my final year” i said.
” okay, darling ” my aunt said.
I lived with my aunt till the holidays were over, i resumed back to school, my dad kept calling me, but i didn’t answer his calls,i heard from my aunt that maria had a miscarriage, she told me that my dad called her to tell me, since it was what i wanted. I went back to hostel, i didn’t see maria belongings again, she had packed them,she even took my jewelries along with her stuff, i wasn’t bothered about it, i didn’t see maria at all in school, she doesn’t attend lectures. Fast forward to the final examinations, i wrote my final exams,and did all my projects, my dad called me with another number, then i picked it, i didn’t know he was the one, he told me to come home, he said he wanted to discuss something with me, i didn’t tell my aunt cause she told me to avoid my dad, so i went to our house,i opened the door, i met my grandma and my dad sitted, when my grandma saw me she ran towards me and she hugged me. What is wrong with grandma today ๐? I asked myself.
“Favour, my dear how are you? How have you been? My grandma asked.
“Dad, you called me to discuss something with me,tell me, i am very busy ” i said to my dad without answering his mom.
“Favour, i know i have offended you thr the last time, i also know your dad has offended you please forgive him” my grandma pleaded. My grandma behaviour is suspicious.
” grandma i have forgiven dad” i said. Dad has not said anything since i came, why is it that it was only grandma that was doing the talking ๐ค
“No you haven’t forgiven him, if you had , you wouldn’t want to take care over his company ” my grandma said. So this was why dad called me here interesting๐
“Grandma, it’s my mother’s company not his” i said nonchalantly.
” yes i know that its your mother’s company, but your dad has invested a lot in it, please don’t take over, tell your aunt that you don’t want the company, so she will stop bringing lawyers to meet your dad” my grandma said as she held my hands.
” grandma there is no way, i am giving up my mom’s company, my mom has willed the company over to me and i am a graduate, if dad wants a company,he should try and establish his own company” i said mockingly.
“Favour ” my grandma shouted as she glared at me.
” Mom, please calm down, favour you don’t need to take over the company, you are still a small girl, i know your aunt is behind all these, she is the one misleading you, you don’t even know how to handle a company, leave the company for me, and i promise you, i will increase your pocket money, and i will make sure i will provide everything you need,Thank God you are good at making hair,i will open a very big saloon shop for you, you just tell your aunt you are not capable of handling the company, tell her to stop disturbing me, you know i love you right? And i want the best for you” my dad said as he took my hands. I started laughing.
“Favour what’s funny? My dad asked angrily.
“Dad , i can really feel your love, your love for me is very deep that you wouldn’t believe anything i say, you even choose to believe the maid not me ,your daughter” i said as i rolled my eyes.
“That was before, not now, i really trust you” my dad said.
“Dad see there is no need to deceive me, i wont leave my mom’s company in your hands, there is no way am allowing that” i said as i took up my bag to leave.
“Okay, no problem greet your aunt” my dad said.
“Segun, don’t tell me you are allowing her to leave ” my grandma said angrily.
“Yes she is free to leave, she has the right to take over her mom’s company, since she doesn’t want me to manage the company again, then that’s fine” my dad said sadly. I looked at him, he was very sad, i was feeling sad for him, then i remembered what my aunt said about maria inheriting the company, i walked out of the house without looking back. I walked in our street with the hope of finding a motorbike, suddenly Someone covered my nose with a handkerchief, i inhaled it and i lost my consciousness. ………….
