…….At first, she didn’t want to pick up the call but
the caller kept calling reluctantly she reached
out for the phone lol and behold the name
displayed was ” bestie ” her friend Sammy
Seeing the caller Catherine gave a loud hiss and switched off her phone
Sammy tried calling again but it was not connecting “gosh I have messed up “ she let out feeling so unease with herself as she moved about her room
“This is not good, what if she tells my parents about me, oh no what on earth was she even doing there” she said sitting on her bed
She tried again but it was still switched off she just angrily threw the phone to one corner just then her friend Jesse came into the room
“you are still not ready, it’s almost 8 pm and his driver will soon be here to pick us for the party, “ Jesse said staring at her friend who was lost in thought
“Sam, Sam !” She shouted jerking her back to reality
“What’s up with you, you have been acting weird since we left that cafeteria, “ Jesse said
“Nothing , I’m not just feeling too well, “ Sammy said using her hand to feel her body temperature
“Ah since when did this sickness start all of a sudden “ Jesse said looking at her friend surprisingly
“It’s nothing to worry about I will just go get PCM (Paracetamol) “ Sammy said moving towards her fridge we’re she kept some of her medication
“If you say so, but please hurry up, you know my minister doesn’t like to be kept waiting,” Jesse said rolling her eyes at her
“I have heard you, just give me some time, I will be out before you know it” Sammy let out and Jesse took her leave
Just as she got to her door she swiftly turned and asked “ least I forget that girl at the cafeteria do you know her, cause she sounded so confident “
“Em … em can I just get ready we are late, “ Sammy said avoiding the question “Okay, “ Jesse said and left
Later that night they headed for the party looking all hot and sexy, Sammy was putting on a crop top and a mini Jean skirt with high heels while Jesse won a mini gown that was just below her Burt
“Pum ……..pum the driver pressed hard on the car horn after waiting for a while
“We are here “ Jesse screamed out and they both hopped into the car and the driver drove off
Arriving at the party everywhere was already bubbling with music the smell of different alcohol was just in the air, the party was an exclusive party for just some top politicians and their babes
Jesse held on to Sammy as they find their way through the small gathering to where their supposed Zaddy was
“Wow you look ravishing, “ the chief said to Jesse with eyes glued on her exposed chest and she couldn’t help but blush “ thank you baby “ she muttered out
“Well this is Senator Dami the one I told you about that is interested in your friend,” Chief said pointing at his friend both girls said hello to him and Sammy moved closer since she already knew what was up
They placed orders for food and more drinks and after hours of dancing and partying they finally left for their various room where they had a swell time
After the last encounter with Catherine Sammy tried reaching her but it seems her number was blocked so she could not
Soon the end of the semester was fast approaching and everyone was looking forward to the start of their exam, Catherine put in so much effort in her studies to avoid carryover and also make her parents proud just like she promised
Eventually, the deal day came and she was so nervous and anxious being her very first exam in a higher institution luckily for her it wasn’t that difficult as she taught
After a week she was through with her exam and was so excited to go home cause she had really missed her siblings and her parents. thoughts of Sammy came flashing through her mind and she quickly discarded it so she would not feel bad
Catherine’s mom was not too happy when she saw her daughter she had lost so much weight and was not looking healthy at all
“That your school is not good o and they have turned my yellow baby to something else, “ her mother said when Catherine got into the compound with her small box and Catherine just smiled
“See just go in and have your bath then come out and eat I already made your favorite food, “said her mom with a smile written by Annie Alex
“Wow” Catherine let out this is the first time she is getting this special treatment cause she is always the one cooking so she hurriedly went in had her bath and came out to eat with her siblings as they all merried and catch up the good old time
Catherine did everything possible to avoid anything that would take her to the axis of Sammy she didn’t want to see her or have anything to do with her
But this faithful day she was heading back from the market with her mom when she heard someone scream her name
“Catherine Catherine “ the person shouted
She turned and saw Sammy with a very long skirt and blouse running towards her looking all innocent
“Good afternoon ma” she greeted
“Good afternoon my daughter how are you doing, and your parents it’s been losing you came to check on us oh, “Catherine’s mom said smiling at her
“ I will mama is just school stress but I will come around one of these days, “ Sammy said smiling sheepishly
Catherine didn’t utter a word she just kept a straight face even when Sammy tried talking to her she remained mute and she eventually left feeling bad about herself
“What is going on between you too “ her mother asked when she noticed the coldness in her attitude
