……..Just as she ended that call her iPhone began ringing she picked it up and smiled at the caller
“Boss lady, where on earth have you been “ Patrick thundered at her as soon as she picked up the call
“Ah, calm down na, won’t you at least ask how I’m faring before you lash at me “ Sammy said with a frown
“Okay Your Royal Highness, how are you doing, “ Patrick said shaking his head and Sammy immediately laughed out loud
“I’m very well my friend, how about you” she said smiling
“Why haven’t you been to class this week if you okay, what is the excuse this time around, “ Patrick asked
“ But I told you I was traveling, I’m currently having one of the best times of my life that’s why, “ she said swinging her hands in the air
“Oh really, so this travel is far better than your studies, well it’s your life and I can’t force you to be upright, just know that there is time for everything, “ Patrick said angrily and hung up the call
Sammy took the phone from her ear in shock and stared at it “Did he just hang up on me anyway that is his business “ she said with a loud his and flung the phone aside as she continued her movie
Later that evening Patrick placed a call to Catherine to fulfill his promise of getting back to her” Hey pretty Catherine, how are you doing “ he said over the phone when she picked up
“Sweet talker, I’m okay, and you,” Catherine said smiling as they chatted for almost twenty minutes he told her Sammy was fine and would be back at school anytime soon. She was glad to hear from him and most especially Sammy was okay
He promised to check on her the following day, which he did and soon he requested for them to hang out in any place of her choice but Catherine declined
One cool evening Catherine was all alone in her room relaxing with a novel when she heard someone bang at her door at first she was just too lazy to stand up but when the person persisted she shouted” hold on before you tear my door apart “
She stood up gurgling and opened the door and was shocked it was Sammy who gave her a bad stare while she just stood in shock
“Will you at least let me in?” Sammy said frowning “Oh I’m sorry please come in, “ Catherine said moving aside for her to go in, which she did and sat on her bed angrily
“I have been trying to reach you for almost two weeks now and I can’t, I even went to your department, and your friend Patrick said you traveled “ Catherine tried explaining
“Patrick! How did you know him “ Sammy said in shock ‘oh my God, she met him already, I hope he didn’t tell her about my plan “
She said inward
“Isn’t he your classmate? “ Catherine said surprised at her question
“ oh yeah he is don’t mind me joor, “ Sammy said with a fake smile her heart was beating fast she just hoped Patrick didn’t let the cat out of the bag
“Sam I know I messed up our plans but trust me when I say it was not intentional and I’m sorry,” Catherine said sitting by her as she placed her hands around her shoulders
“See en, it was while I was trying to figure out what else I could wear then I fell asleep, “ she said and SAMMY burst into a laugh
“Oh so what happened to the dress I got for you” Sammy said with raised brows
“Ah I could not wear it, oh, all my curves were showing besides it was just too short and tight, “ Catherine said demonstrating her the dress was
“You are very funny oh, dress many girls will die to have is what you are here complaining about, it’s obvious you are not ready to belong to a new class, “ Sammy said eying her from head to toe
“It’s not like that n, I’m not just used to exposing my body and you know, “ Catherine said sadly
“Sister Mary, well done everything begins with a step if you don’t try how will you know “ Sammy said rolling her eyes
“ I have heard you oh, I have been wanting to ask you about all these flashy phones, hair, clothes, and money how did you get them I know your parents are poor just like mine, “ Catherine said moving closer to her
“Shhhhhh must you say that, “ Sammy said
Trying to close her mouth when she meant their parents
“Emm you know my mother sister son and wife in the UK (United Kingdom ) have been the ones sending me money and all the stuff you see, “ Sammy said stammering
“Oh I thought your mother’s sister passed on when we were little and she didn’t have any children, “ Catherine said staring at her in shock
“Oh that’s true em, em see en don’t just worry on a good day I will tell you “ Sammy finally said
“Well I just hoped you telling the truth but if not please be careful this world we live in is a very wicked place and not all that glitters is gold don’t destroy your future for today’s pleasure,” Catherine said to her friend who was not expecting those sermon from her
SAMMY became so uneased with the way Catherine was talking and she finally left feeling embarrassed
