……SAMMY became so uneased with the way Catherine was talking and she finally left feeling embarrassed
Immediately she got home she placed a call to Patrick who reluctantly picked up after she called a second time
“Hey what’s up with you, “ Patrick said when he okayed the call
“Why didn’t you tell me you met with my friend Catherine “ Sammy said ignoring his pleasantry
“Well I didn’t see any reason to since you were enjoying your vacation “ Patrick spilled out
“Oh really and you feel that is enough reason For you not to inform me “ Sammy fired back
“No boss lady,” Patrick said making a gest of her
“Where are you, so I can come see you,” said Sammy
“I’m home but I’m currently studying, exams are fast approaching “ Patrick replied
“Oh good student, I have heard you, talk to you later than she said and hung up the call flinging are phone to one side
“Who the hell those Catherine think she is, trying to make me feel like a corrupt child, so now she has the guts to advise me when she cannot even feed herself, “ Sammy said feeling annoyed
“Who wouldn’t grab this opportunity to live their lives to the fullest, I have everything at my beck and call and I’m satisfied,” Sammy said feeling proud of her mischievous life
Soon exams were over and everyone went home for the holidays, Patrick made sure he kept in touch with Catherine, and their friendship blossomed
Catherine got home and joined her mom in her business so they could raise money for her school fees for the following year
Her mother kept advising her that no matter what she should always remain focused and steadfast since she started with a good grade she should just maintain and graduate well
“You know most people that graduated with first class are most likely to get a better job faster, so you see why you need to take your studies seriously so whenever that opportunity comes you will not miss out, “ her mother said filling the bottles in her hand with with pealed groundnut
“Ah mama how did you know all these “Catherine said smiling at her mom
“Oh you think because I did not go to school so I don’t know right “ her mother said with raised brows
“No it’s not like that, I just believe hard work plus God’s favor and grace is what will make a man stand out, “ said Catherine
“You are right my Child that’s why you still need to be upright and hold God firm “
Her mother added
“Yes mama, I always will, “ Catherine said smiling
Sammy refused to go home for the holidays because she was traveling with one of her sugar daddies for a boat cruise alongside Jesse
“Sam check this out, “ Jesse said showing her white kneeled swimming wear which she got for the trip
“ oh wow this is beautiful, why didn’t you get one for me too” said Sammy taking it from her as she examined it
“ you know white isn’t your color so I thought you would not want it, “ Jesse said to her
“ I know but I could have an exception for this, “ Sammy said holding the cloth to her chest
“Oh, okay I will just call the lady to see if it’s still available and order one for you, “ Jesse said to her and she felt better
One cozy evening Catherine decided to go see Sammy at home since she couldn’t get to her on the phone, everyone was on holiday so she was certain she should be home
“ good evening ma,” Catherine greeted when she arrived at her house and met the mom coming out
“Oh my goodness, Catherine you are now a full grown woman, “Sammy’s mom said when she set eyes on Catherine and she felt a bit shy
“How are you doing and how is your mom”
Sammy’s mom asked I was told you know a school in LASU(Lagos State University) “ she yes
“ yes ma and everyone is fine they sent their greetings,” Catherine said with a bow
“ oh that’s lovely, greet them for me too,” she said
“Mama please can I see Sammy I can’t reach her on the phone “
Catherine finally let out
“Oh Sammy is still in school oh, she said they have one practical to do during the holiday and since there is not enough money for her to go and come back she just decided to stay back “ her mother narrated
“Oh practical during the holiday, “ Catherine said shocked she knew Sammy was lying because if they had any practical Patrick would have informed her. She just shook her head in disappointment and left after a while
“ How is your friend?” her mother asked when she got back home
“ I didn’t meet her at home, her mom said she is still in school because of practicals, “ Catherine said
“Practical! During the holiday, how possible is that “ her mother said in shock, she immediately knew something was not right with Sammy
