The Asoebi Girls (Epilogue)
Epilogue.
“Girls, guess what?” Bella asked looking all excited. It was so evident in her eyes. The way they lit up, the way she kept shifting in her seat, swinging her arms and dancing on a spot.
“Just tell us already.” Nancy eagerly said.
“I am now a god mother.”
“Anita has given birth?” Chioma asked as her eyes lits up too. Chioma loves kids so much more reason she volunteered in the children’s department in her Church.
“But can you imagine, that fo.ol wants to be part of the baby’s life. That Samuel.”
“The one who got her pregnant and left her? The Island boy?” Joy asks Bella.
“Her aunt gave him a condition that he’ll do something on Anita’s head traditional before he can be allowed any right, surprisingly he agreed.” Bella pauses as she peers at their faces to see their expression.
“What did Anita say?”
“I don’t know if she has much choice. She just wants her child to have a father figure. Hopefully, something good might come out although Anita said she won’t move in with him till she’s convinced he really wants them.”
“I’m happy for her. We should pay her a visit before Joy’s wedding.” Chioma suggested to which they all agreed.
“Back to what I wanted to say before Bella interrupted.” All eyes were now fixated on Nancy to know what she had to say.
“I just wanted to inform you all that I’m the chief bridesmaid on the big day.”
“Nibo?” Bella interrupted. “Joy, we don’t even have to debate on this again. I am the chief bridesmaid.”
“No, I am the one.” Nancy interjected.
“Since you people are dragging for the chief bridesmaid position, I’ll have to be the little bride. Just look for a cute little groom for me.” Chioma said with a sly smile.
“Godforbid. Not my wedding. How will an old woman like you be my little bride.” They all started laughing but the laughter was short lived because Bella interrupted yet again.
“Joy, settle this now so that Nancy will rest. Who’s your chief bridesmaid?”
THE END.
Question:
If you’re Joy, who will you choose to be your chief bridesmaid?
