Episode 20
“But what did he see in you that I don’t have?” Hannah asks as she signals the men to untie her hands and lock her in the rest room.
Joy couldn’t place what she was feeling at the time.
Was it fear for her life or worry about Daniel and her friends. She saw someone slip her phone in through the opening at the base of the door.
Just immediately, Bella’s call enters.
“Where are you?” Bella asked sounding concerned.
“I don’t really know but I’m being locked up in a rest room by Hannah and some guys.”
The call gets disconnected.
She tries to call back but it kept saying not reachable. She tries Chioma and Nancy’s phone too, same thing. She heards someone unlocking the door but no one came in
After a few minutes, she turned the handle and the door opened. She peers outside a bit and didn’t see anyone.
She steps out and couldn’t believe her eyes.
She saw 13 men on black standing like statues, turning their backs to her and on their clothes were written. . .
“Will U Marry Me?”
Each letter of the alphabet were on each person’s back.
She felt lost until the guy on who’s back the question mark was on, began to walk towards her. He was wearing black shades and a hat. She wanted to run back into the rest room when a song, sounds a bit familiar, started playing from where she couldn’t see as the man kneels on a foot and removes his hat.
Slowly, he removes his shades and looks up to meet Joy’s surprised face.
“I thought you had an. . .”
Joy stopped her statement half way as Daniel was already holding out a silver ring to her.
Now she knows where she has heard that song.
“My Joy, I don’t have much words to say than that I know you complete me. You’re my better half. Do me the honour of being my wife.”
It all felt abit surreal to Joy. And as in the movies, she was becoming emotional as the tears flowed freely. She felt like hitting her head to remind herself that she was not in a movie.
She turns her back to Daniel.
“I’m sorry, Dan. I wish I can. . . I wish I can say no but I love you so much to say no.” and she nods, and says “Yes, I do.”
Daniel hugs her and wasn’t letting go when Bella voices comes through.
“Single people are here o. Don’t suffocate my friend.”
Balloons were flying the air as Bella and Nancy were screaming, only Chioma looked surprised not like really surprised. She had dreamt about this but didn’t know it will happen really soon.
“Wait, you girls knew all along?” Joy was asking Bella as she feigned annoyance when Hannah walks in with two guys and shouted;
“Guys, get that husband stealer.”
Bella and Nancy bursts out in laughter. Joy stood looking lost.
She stares from Hannah to Daniel to her friends ans back to Daniel. Daniel couldn’t hold back his laughter anymore and so couldn’t Bella and the rest..
Nancy, who was already looking red from laughing so much goes across and gives Hannah a hug as she whispers..”You really took the acting thing a bit tok far. You want to give our bride a high BP. But you did a great Job”
“How did you see our acting and planning skill?” Daniel whispers to the lady in his embrace. His fiancée.
“Superb. You guys can win an Oscar Wilde Award you know, but only in your dreams.”
