“She is really sick I saw her mother beside our house when she brought her to Ezemuo house .” he said in which I sat back on the chair shivering.
my grandma became angry at Emeka for coming to tell me such thing as she went inside to take her Cain and flogged Emeka while he ran out shouting.
“yehhhhhh my back!! my back!!!!!
“you should have wait and let me pieces the Cain on you nonsense! imagine the stupid thing he came here to tell my grandson this hour after lying to me. infact i will come to your house tomorrow and report you to your mother!.

she cut me shut immediately.
“keep quiet! just shut up there! so Emeka is your information giver. don’t worry by tomorrow you will stop all this nonsense!. I told you to eat and take your drugs but you refused, but immediately you heard that girl name again you jumped up like frog abi?. she said lamenting as she held unto the Cain towards me as she told me to eat the food or else the Cain we land on me.
I was not happy at all as I tried telling her about the dream I had but she kept shutting me up that everything about Ada is now getting into my head that I don’t even want to listen to her again.
“I do see Ada in a stream like a fish.” I said sharply as she turns back to me immediately like someone who just heard a terrifying word.
“ehn! what did you just say obi?!. she asked sitting on the center table while facing me.
I then told her how I do see her with me in a stream in a good mood and at times how she turns to a mermaid.
“ha! I said it! I said it ooooooo they have started manipulating you even in the dream so, Ada is a mamine water child ha! obi! obi!!!! see what you have cursed for yourself.
I told her she doesn’t harm me that the last dream I had that she was the one begging me to rescue her because some women were beating her. I explained how the dream went to her as she quickly closed her door.
“grandma, while are you closing everywhere as if a thief is coming?. I asked as she began to pray silently covering everywhere with the blood of Jesus.
She then sat back beside me as she checked my body severally asking if am feeling better. I then asked again about her sudden reaction.
“obi! obi!! obi!!! how many times did I call you?.
“three times mama fashion. I answered.
“see, there are some things you don’t know about Ada family that I didn’t tell you but, thank God that you will be going tomorrow and I’m glad you will never encounter any such dreams again.
“why can’t you tell me now?. I asked.
“No. it’s not everything a child should know. but about the dream you had, it’s definitely related to Ada’s family and it’s really dangerous in which I don’t even want you to associate with them.
I was Disturbed by what she said as I pleaded if she can just allowed me to see Ada for the last time before going back with my parents. mama fashion shunned me and said she doesn’t want to hear anything about her from my mouth again as she took me to her room saying i must sleep on her bed tonight instead of sleeping alone.

Everywhere suddenly went black and later light up again when I suddenly saw Ada being tied up on a big tree with rain falling on her alone at where she’s. she looked tired and in pain as she shrugged to free herself with her fish tail. I took a step to go and meet her and I realized where I was standing is very deep that if I should take more step I will be falling into the dip pit. I called out her name as she looked towards me and cried out in agony.
“obi help me!!!!!!. she shouted in which a strange hand wiped her face as she coughed out blo od. I shouted her name with all my strength.
“Ada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I opened my eyes back to reality panting as my grandma woke up immediately shouting Jesus.
“it’s this Ada again ha! oya sleep back well and dream well in Jesus name! .
she said carrying her bible on my chest as she began to pray for me as I slept off without seeing Ada again.

I sat at the front of Emeka house as my grandma and his mother were having conversations after Emeka has been dealt with by his mother.
I called him in which he doesn’t want to come closer to me for the fact that I have begged him severally. He eventually answered and came to sit beside me probably because he has heard I will be going today.
“so, you’re going today?. He asked tickling me as I laughed.
“I thought you don’t want to answer me before. I said laughing as he joined.
I told him he shouldn’t be offended that if I didn’t shout my grandma wouldn’t have known what is going on.
“it’s okay. I have forgiven you. he said smiling.
I then asked him if he has seen Ada at the place he said she was carried to yesterday.
“is as if they’re not there again because by the time I arrived home yesterday night my mother said she suddenly became well after the native doctor gave her something to drink.
I told him about what my grandmother said about her in which he also agreed that it seems there’s something about her family because he over heard his mother telling my grandmother that Ada is a possessed girl.
“what type of possession is that. I asked looking confused.
“me too I don’t know ooo it is what I heard I just said and moreover I don dey tell you tay tay say make you leave that girl but you refused to listen. I just pray that she won’t torment you. so, it’s not by beauty but by what she entails. he said while I was lost in thought imagining what could be happening to her.
Emeka held my hand as he pulls me up telling me to let go to the stream that he want to go and fetch water at first I felt reluctant as I went to take permission from my grandma who said I can go.
I carried one water Carrier and followed him as we walked down to the stream.
“why is everywhere so quiet this afternoon?. I asked looking around.
“normally road to the stream is always quiet or do you expect people to be living in the Bush. he said laughing as we started cracking jokes while talking on how he is going to miss my absence as there’s no other friend as generous as me ever since I came. I told him not to worry much as I can possibly come back anytime to see him because I can’t forget him like that and moreover we can be communicating through phone call or chatting if possible.
“but, I don’t have phone now.” he said laughing as I told him he can possibly tell his mother to call my number that I will be giving him or perhaps go to my grandma and tell her he would like to speak with me.
“ehn! city boy, your grandmother! tah! I can’t go ooo so that she will slap me abi π abeg ooo my mother is okay to tell.
we both laughed continuously while I told him my grandma is not a ba d person that she only discipline when necessary.
“thank you. he said jokingly as he suddenly stopped looking another root that lead to the stream. I also looked to see what he saw as I saw Ada eating grass aggressively like an hungry goat inside the bush.
“Ada!!!!!. I shouted in which she looked up and saw us as she suddenly looked so furious like tiger. I started running towards her and noticed tears flowing down her eyes as she shouted that I shouldn’t come closer to her in which she looks so scary
“obi go away!!!! go away!!!!!. she screamed and shouted repeatedly moving towards me with force as if she’s being pushed.
I took some step back as I looked back and couldn’t see Emeka behind me again in which I threw the bucket on my hand away dashing back home screaming.
“mama fashion! mama fashion!!! mama fashion!!!!
