Perpetual

Episode 1️⃣ 0️⃣

Did you succeed with Perpetual? Amara asked.

I managed to get half of the evîdence I wanted. She promised to be here tomorrow but if she shows up tomorrow or not I don’t care because our conversation I recorded is enough to back up whatever I will be accomplishing. Lekwachi said.

Half of the evîdence? What of her nûdés and bathróóm pictures you said you have where are they? Amara asked Lekwachi.

Hahaha, I wonder why she will believe I have such pictures and videos on my phone. I only have the ones I sent to her which were the ones we took together when we were dating and the ones she sent to me. All those thréàts I was spillîng were empty. Lekwachi said.

And after gathering all the evîdénce how do you go about it? Amara asked.

I will go about it through you. Lekwachi answered smiling.

What do you mean?

You will play it to her husband the night before her wedding.

I hope you are not being serious here. Whatever thing your plans are for this, please count me out. You asked I lure Perpetual to come and see you which I did. Read my lips, I’m not doing it, period! Amara said.

You have no option because we have been in this together or get ready to be exposed. Lekwachi threatened.

Do you think I fear you and your empty thréàts anymore? I’m not one of those people who you blàckmàil and push around. Watch me walk up to Perpetual and gladly report myself to her and be free from you. Amara said and stood up to walk away.

You can only try but you won’t dare. Lekwachi said.

Let see…

Amara left and called Precious on the phone she wished to see her. She briefed the story of Perpetual making plans to see Lekwachi the next day to Precious on the phone because she knows she and Precious are càt and dógs and there’s nothing she could do to make Precious available except briefing her on the phone.

Precious didn’t waste up to thirty minutes to arrive at Amara’s apartment. Amara opened up to her and told her everything between her and Lekwachi and how Perpetual was planning to go and see him for the second time. Precious was dumbfounded for the past an hour plus Amara had been telling her what she thought would never be possible.

Perpetual was surprised to see Amara and Precious walked in together to her house. At first, she wanted to ask them who prepared the charm that brought them together but she looked at their faces none was smiling.

Perps, Amara has something to tell you. Please whatever you hear from her. Don’t hold it against her. I beg you to find a place in your heart and forgive her. Precious said to Perpetual.

Amara narrated the whole story to Perpetual. She felt betrayed and heartbroken but at the same time relieved.

Perps, I know I’m not worthy to call a friend. I contributed to the pains you went through and the damages Lekwachi is causing you. If you are ready to fight Lekwachi I will fight him with you. He has no other evidence of you on his phone other than the ones he has sent to you and the conversation of you and him he recorded today when you came to his house all the evidence is saved on his phone. I can wipe everything from his phone and leave him with no evidence. Amara said looking at Precious and Perpetual.

Okay, but time is no longer on Perp’s side. Her wedding is near already. I suggest she tell Derrick about the whole thing in case matters arise tomorrow. Tell him and know where you stand. Precious suggested.

My world is about to crûmble. I’m about to lose everything again. How do I face this shame if Derrick calls off the wedding? How do I survîvé another heartbreak? Perpetual cries.

The next day. Perpetual went to Derrick’s house to tell him the whole.

Babe, what are you doing? Derrick asked Perpetual who pulled off her engagement ring and placed it on the bed.

I’m walking away. I don’t think the marriage will hold after hearing the story of my past relationship. Perpetual calmly said.

About Lekwachi? Common girl, you have told me about him. Derrick said.

No, I didn’t tell you everything. Perpetual said.

Babe, sit down let me understand what you are talking about. Derrick said and helped Perpetual to sit on the bed.

Perpetual took her time and carefully told Derrick everything.

Derrick bûried his face in the ground for some moments before he responded to Perpetual.

I am no Saint. We all had what we had done in the past that’s still rip us apart. But we have to set our hearts free by sharing it with the one we love and wish to cherish forever. I love you regardless and as far as I’m concerned you never committed atrocities. You only did what you did for love just that you fell into the wrong hands. Let me have a screenshot of what the Lekwachi of a guy sent to you I will get him arrested for blackmàiling. Derrick said.

Perpetual was filled with tears in her eyes. She wasn’t expecting to be forgiven so soon by Derrick. She was lost in her thoughts when Derrick called her attention.

Will you marry me again Pebby? Derrick picked up the ring Perpetual kept on the bed and re-proposed.

Yes, I will marry you over and over again. Perpetual exclaimed and stretched her hands to Derrick.

Amara went to Leckwachi’s house and requested he give her his phone to play the recorded conversation he had with Perpetual before he sent it to her. Lekwachi handed the phone to her and Amara got the whole thing on his phone wiped off. Lekwachi noticed what Amara did and quickly dragged his phone from her and checked only for him to see things he had on his phone were gone. He hîts Amara mercilessly. His hands were already on Amara’s néck when the police Derrick and Perpetual led to Lekwachi’s house walked in on him and was successfully saved Amara from him and got him arrested for blàckmailing and attempted mûrder.

A week later Derrick and Perpetual wedded. Precious and Amara were there and they turned to best of friends.

Lekwachi was taken to court and he pleaded guîlty under Section 4∅8 of the Crîmînal Code Act in Nigeria and was séntencéd to five years imprisonment.
