Doctor Gideon’s wife episode 12

Episode 12

Doctor Gideon’s Wife 💔

On turning, I saw a young man, dressed completely in black, jumped down from a bike and was moving towards me. His dressing looks suspicious to me so, I watched him closely as he approaches then, I noticed something that looked like the head of a pistol pointing at me from his jacket.

With the last strength I had, I jumped over a gutter besides me but before I could move any farther, I heard the sound of a gun shot and I felt a heavy pain on my right leg. I fell facedown, writhing in pain.

The last thing I remembered was voices of people screaming from different corners of the street.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a hospital bed with my wife and my mother sitting by my side. My mother was holding my sleeping son.

They both had tears in their eyes.

I tried to move my leg, but I couldn’t.

“Where is this?”. I asked.

“He is awake!. My mother screamed in excitement, causing the sleeping boy to toss restlessly and started crying. She handed him over to Sandra and held me by the hand.
… You’re in your hospital, you were shot by some gunmen yesterday”. She replied, smiling tearfully.

Just then, doctor Desmond entered.

“How are you doing, doctor Gideon?”. He was smiling at me.

“I’m in pains”. I replied.

“Sorry, you will be fine, the bullet has been removed… thank God those men were apprehended”.

“They were?”. I asked, trying in vain to sit up.

“Yes, after you were shot, some street boys pursued those men aggressively. They caught up with them and beat them mercilessly before the arrival of the police. It was later at night that they arrested the person that hired them”. My mother was explaining.

“And who was that?”. I asked.

“Do you need to be told?, your concubine, of course”. That was Sandra, speaking for the first time since I regained consciousness.

How could Tricia do a thing like that to me?. I wept bitterly.

At the end, it dawned on me that if all the other women I have played would start coming for me one after the other, I won’t survive the remaining part of the year.

There and then, I made a resolution in my heart that I was going to turn a new leaf.Though my mom wasn’t right by imposing a wife on me, but she did not make the wrong choice for me, either.

Sandra is the kind of woman every reasonable man need as a wife for the sake of his sanity.

I will try and make up for all the pains I have made her pass through. I promised myself.

I stayed in the hospital for 3 weeks and on the fourth, I was discharged and was driven home on crutches by doctor Desmond.

My mother went back the week after I was discharged, she had stayed longer than she planned to.

“Let me go and see my farm, I will come again”.

But before she left, she tried her best to sort out the differences between Sandra and I, by making an apology to her on my behalf.

I gave her the last money on me to rent a shop at a plaza across the street to start up her hairdressing and wholesale business since I wasn’t fit to work.

She was doing very well. We lived on her daily income. All I do was to sit at home all day, waiting for her to come back home from work, cook my food, wash my clothes, do the dishes, bath me and also take care of Emmanuel.

Though she never complains, but I felt bad about that. I saw myself as a liability.

“I’m sorry you have to pass through all these”. I said to her one evening. She smiled and stroked my hair lovingly.

“It’s alright, I just want you to get well soon”.

” I will make it up to you once I get back on my feet”. I always promise her.

I was busy thinking that everything have been settled until she came back from the shop one Saturday evening with a shocker.

“How are you feeling today?”. She asked.

“I’m feeling better than yesterday. I answered.
…. how was work?”. I enquired

“It was okay, I thank God”. She replied, dropping Emmanuel at my feet. I watched her vanished into the room and came out few minutes later with a file.

She sat on the couch besides me, searching through the file while I watched in confusion, wondering where she got a file from.

At last, she brought out a piece of paper from it and handed to me.

“I want you to sign this for me”. She said, providing a pen from the drawer under the centre table.

“What’s this?. I asked as I went through its content. What I saw there sent cold shivers down my spine.

Who has been advising my wife?…
