PART 10.
MY DESIRES ππ₯
(A story inspired by a true-life event)
After listening to Kennedy’s words, It dawned on me the importance of communication and mutual understanding in a relationship or marriage. If he had earlier shared with me how his past had shaped his workaholic lifestyle, maybe I wouldn’t have jumped to conclusions and pursued my desires, assuming he didn’t care about my feelings.
Now, I’m faced with a dilemma involving Daniel. How can I remove him from the picture without angering him enough to reveal the truth to my husband? These thoughts weighed heavily on my heart after my conversation with Kennedy.
The next morning, as I was lost in thought during my shower, my husband interrupted my reverie with a knock on the bathroom door.
“Hey, babe,” he called from outside.
“Yes?” I responded with curiosity.
“Hurry up and come take your calls. Someone’s been calling you nonstop,” he said.
I turned off the shower to hear him clearly and asked,
“And who could that be?”
“I don’t know. You saved the name with just the letter D,” he replied.
At that moment, I realized it was Daniel calling, and my heart raced with fear. I rushed out of the bathroom and snatched my phone from my husband, who looked puzzled.
“Why the rush? Is everything okay?” he asked calmly.
“Huh?” I stammered, struggling for a response.
“Was the call so important that you had to rush out of the bathroom, n***d and covered in soap foam?” he teased with a soft smile.
“Don’t mind me. It’s my delivery guy. He’s supposed to pick up some items from the shop this morning and deliver them to an important customer of mine. He’s probably calling to check if I’m at the shop,” I lied convincingly, faking a smile and discreetly turning off my phone.
“Oh, that explains why you saved his name with just the letter D. You can be funny sometimes, you know?” he laughed, and I joined in, feeling a wave of relief.
Then, I caught him admiring my n***d body from head to toe.
“What’s with the flirty look this morning?” I teased, unable to stop smiling.
“You look beautiful. How do you maintain such a perfect body after all these years?” he asked sincerely captivated by my nuddity.
“It’s all thanks to you, my beloved husband,” I replied with a smile.
“How about we have a little chat in there before I head to work?” he suggested, desire evident in his eyes.
“Are you serious right now? Who chats inside the bathroom? Besides, you’ve already showered. Why don’t you get dressed for work?” I suggested, but he approached me and held my waist.
“Work can wait. I need this important chat with you, or I won’t be able to focus on work today,” he said, sealing his words with a kiss on my forehead.
“But I have to drop the kids off at school and I am running late already,” I protested, but his grip tightened.
“Don’t worry. I won’t take up much of your time,” he assured me, silencing me with a deep kiss.
Slowly, he took the phone from me and led me back into the bathroom, shutting the door behind us. He carefully dropped the phone on the bathroom sink and I immediately wrapped my arms around him, while we shared a passionate kiss. That moment felt like a flashback to our wedding night which was filled with intense and unforgettable intimacy.
He guided me under the shower and turned it on, creating the sensation of kissing in the rain as water cascaded over us. As our kiss deepened, his hand ventured between my legs, caressing me sensually.
I couldn’t help but m**n with pleasure, grabbing his shoulder firmly. He transitioned from caressing to more intimate exploration, and it was pure ecstasy, causing me to m**n even louder. Just as I was about to let out a louder m**n, he whispered in my ear,
“Easy, the kids are still at home.”
We both burst into laughter.
After an extended foreplay, he turned me around and bent me over giving me an intense thrust from behind. He took me to heights of pleasure. A reminder of the passionate connection we shared, and that morning, we both made good use of every moment to increase our bonds, and it ended with smiles of pure satisfaction.
A few hours later, after I had dropped the kids off at school, I finally switched on my phone and dialed Daniel’s number.
“Let’s meet, we need to talk,” I said as soon as he answered my call.
We met a short while later at the secluded eatery where we had our first date which led to an intimate encounter in his car.
The atmosphere was tense and our expressions filled with unresolved emotions as we sat facing each other.
“Daniel…, as I mentioned on the phone, we really need to have this conversation,” I nervously began, my gaze locked onto him.
“Finally, you want to talk after ignoring my calls and avoiding me for days,” Daniel responded, leaning in, his clasped hands resting on the table, his eyes fixed firmly on me.
“Daniel, ignoring you wasn’t intentional. You called when my husband was around, so how could I have possibly answered? Do you want to get me into trouble?” I questioned.
“I see… so he’s back,” Daniel nodded, leaning back in his chair as if something had just clicked.
“Daniel, I don’t know how to put this, but I hope you respect my decision without trying to convince me otherwise,” I said.
“What is it?” He replied.
“Daniel, these past few days, I’ve taken time to reflect on all that has been going on between us and I’ve concluded that it’s not right as it poses a threat to my marriage. So, It’s best we put an end to it,” I said, avoiding his gaze.
“Vivian, how can it be wrong when you don’t feel anything for the man you married? I know you are only staying with him for the kids. But that won’t be an issue, I’m willing to accept them as my own if you choose to be with me. Come on, It’s wrong to deny yourself the happiness you deserve,” he argued.
“Daniel, I love and made a vow to my husband, and I can’t keep betraying him like this. Right now, I regret my actions and wish I could turn back time and avoid this mess, however, the deed has been done already. So right now, I am focusing on fixing the mess I’ve made and working on rebuilding my marriage and my relationship with my husband,” I explained.
“So, you’re just going to throw away what we had? What about us, Vivian?” Daniel’s anger began to surface in his tone.
“I’m sorry, Daniel. What we had was a mistake that shouldn’t have happened. My desires and wrong assumptions about my husband led me to seek solace in your arms. But I’ve realized my mistakes and want to make amends. I hope you understand,” I said.
“In the end, I was just a means of sexual satisfaction to you, right?” Daniel scoffed, his eyes reflecting hurt.
“Truthfully, you meant more than that to me, Daniel. Seeking solace in you shows how much trust I have in you. You helped me when my mental health was deteriorating. Our time together brought back memories, both good and bad. Sometimes, I imagined a life with you and the kids. You weren’t just a source of pleasure but a savior. I’m grateful for your presence in my life, but I can’t let it destroy my marriage. I can’t live this lie. So, I’ve decided to set you free. Move on, find your love while I focus on rebuilding my life and marriage,” I confessed.
Hearing this, Daniel stared at me for a long moment, as if processing everything. Eventually, he smiled and replied,
“Vivian, it’s ironic how I thought I had lost you when I watched you walk down the aisle on your wedding day. However, when you reappeared in my life five years later, I assumed it was fate bringing us back together. When we finally made out in the car, I was convinced beyond doubt that you were mine. You can’t blame me for feeling this way, even though you’re married because I never stopped loving you, and being with you felt like home.”
“It did for me too, Daniel. But sadly, there’s no us anymore. We’re different people now,” I replied.
“Just as I had expected. In the end, you chose your husband over me, despite knowing how much you mean to me,” he said, his voice laced with hurt.
“I’m sorry, Daniel…”
“It’s okay, Vivian. I understand. You know, I never thought I would say this, however, I have no choice but to respect your decision. It hurts, but I can’t keep you tied to something that’s tearing you apart. Besides, they say letting go is a form of love,” Daniel said, a tear rolling down his cheek.
Overwhelmed by emotion, I replied,
“Thank you, Daniel. I will always cherish what we had, and I wish you the best in your endeavors. It was nice knowing you.”
“Same here, Vivian. I wish you happiness in your marriage,” He responded, his tear-filled eyes bearing the weight of our history and the pain of parting.
Before leaving the eatery, he requested me,
“Do me a favor and block me so I can’t contact you any further. I don’t want to be tempted to come back.”
I nodded, unable to speak, and walked away with my heart breaking, knowing our affair was over. It was painful, but it was the right thing to do.
Months went by, and I buried the memories of Daniel and focused on my marriage. At first, everything seemed fine, but then, a new issue emerged. I found myself constantly reminded of Daniel whenever my husband and I were intimate. This led to me comparing my husband’s lovemaking skills to Daniel’s, making s*x less enjoyable. I realized I needed help because no matter how many times my husband and I were intimate, I always wanted more.
I sought the guidance of a s*x therapist, who diagnosed me with s*x addiction after examining my s*x history. My problem was eventually traced back to Daniel who was the first man to explore my sexuality during my early university days.
Back then, we had an extremely active s*x life, sometimes we engaged in s*x more than five times a day. This pattern continued until our breakup five years later after which, I dated and married Kennedy, who had a different approach to intimacy.
This contributed to my belief that only Daniel could truly satisfy me due to my addiction to our intense sexual encounters.
Overcoming my addiction was a challenging journey, but after a year of therapy, I began to genuinely enjoy s*x with my husband. Our marriage was back on track until an unexpected event occurred two weeks after our sixth wedding anniversary.
My shop was robbed by one of my longest-serving salesgirls, who disappeared with both cash and my goods.
To aid the police investigation, my husband suggested reviewing the CCTV footage from the past year to uncover any additional thefts. Unbeknownst to me, while going through the CCTV footage, he stumbled upon footage of Daniel kissing me in the shop the other day he visited the previous year.
