CAMPUS FELLOWSHIP ON FIRE
Chapter 12
(Unreasonable Anger)
“Good fternoon Bro Segun.” Prayo Moses stood at the door of Bro Segun’s apartment. Bro Segun was nicknamed “Scholar Sege” because he was always reading.
“You can come in sir.” Bro Segun made way for him to enter.
“Haba, I’m not staying long. I was just in the environment and thought it wise to say Hi to our runaway prayer unit member.” He laughed.
At that, Segun knew where his leader was driving at, and his smile turned to a frown instantly.
He was a member of prayer unit, but it’s been two months since he attended any of the prayer meetings.
As exams were fast approaching, he only created time for Sunday services, and that too was not regular.
“Hmmm, it’s really not my fault sir. As of late, I hardly have time for myself as I’ve been so busy, preparing for exams and all.”
“I totally understand Bro Segun, especially when you are the scholar of your department. You know our God is an excellent God, So excellence is His will for us.”
“Exactly sir, I mustn’t fail God Oga. And to that effect, I’d like to be excused from fellowship for the next Three weeks. Then I’ll come for exam prayers and thanksgiving the following month.” Bro Segun said, taking care to avoid eye contact.
“Ehn, but sir, you can come for Sunday services now. Wle won’t take much of your time.” Prayo Moses insisted.
“It can’t be possible sir. Even that three hour in church sir, if I invest it in studying, I’ll get tangible result.” Bro Segun emphasized.
Prayo Moses couldn’t help but sigh.
“Even now sir, as I’m talking to you, part of my mind is on the book I’m reading…”
“I’m so sorry for taking your time. I’ll get going now ehn, Scholar Segun. You know I promised not to take much of your time. Happy studying. May God help you sir.” the Prayer Cord. turned and left.
“Thank you sir, see you in church next month God sparing our lives, bye sir.” He waved.

“Sister Linda!”
Linda knew her caller, stylishly wanted to ignore him. She already knew what he wanted to say. He was one of the twenty people from the fellowship, that had asked for her hand in marriage
As he finally got to her, he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her a little too tight for comfort. She however, decided to indulge him.
“How are you Bro Kenneth? I’m so glad to see you!” She faked excitement.
“I’m fine really, I’m elated to see you too! You know, you’re just like the sun, you brighten up my day.
“Awwn… Really?” Linda blushed, she knew he would get destroyed in the end.
“Linda, the Lord is my shepherd, but I want you. Let my keep my heart with you. Just like Jesus, I’ve left my 99 in search of you.”
“Awwwn. I’m so touched.”
Bro Kenneth saw she was smiling like an idiot, he was happy.
“Whenever I set my eyes on you, Sister Linda, I see the grace of God overshadowing you. Your name is not Faith, but you’re the substance of things I’ve ever hoped for in life.”
Linda was getting bored already.
“Ahnahn, isn’t that Bro Segun marching towards our direction?” Bro Kenneth asked.
“Yeah, he’s the one.”She confirmed,
“It’s show time!” She whispered..
She had met him to tutor her many times, and she knew he was madly in love with her.
Scholar Sege was surprised to see his future wife with another guy whose promiscuous was evident to all.
Bro Kenneth had an eye for good things, and you’ll only see him around beautiful sisters.
As soon as he got to them, he gave Bro Kenneth an angry shove on his chest with both hands that Bro Kenneth staggered backwards, catching him unawares.
“Why are you frolicking about with my future partner you scoundrel!” Bro Segun growled.
If Bro Kenneth was taken aback, he tried to conceal it. Perhaps Scholar Sege was just joking. And besides, when do scholars start having interest in women?
“We were just talking, I’m escorting this beautiful lady to her department nah. What’s the whole madness for?” He meant it as a joke but Scholar Segun took it overboard.
Just like in the movies, before we could say “Jesus Is Lord”, Bro Segun gave Bro Kenneth a push so hard that the frail Bro Kenneth fell backwards to the ground and hit his head on a large stone.
Linda who had been enjoying the whole show all along and was happy all was going according to plan began to act like a person in shock.
“Ahh, Bro Segun, see blood. You’ve succeeded in killing him!” She screamed.
Tension and fear gripped Bro Segun as he remained frozen to a spot.
In less than three seconds, a crowd of frantic students had gathered round the unconscious body of Bro Kenneth and the wailing Sister Linda. Many were taking pictures with their smartphones and uploading on social media without wasting time.
Linda knelt beside him wailing like a widowed bride.
After about twenty minutes, the school ambulance arrived the scene and wheeled him to the school clinic for treatment.
The next day, all University TV stations, blogs, News pages and Sites had uploaded the news and given it all sort of flashy headlines.

“FELLOWSHIP BROTHER AND SCHOLAR MAIMS ANOTHER OVER A SISTER”
“STUDENT OF ADEOSUN UNIVERSITY KILLS ANOTHER OVER A BEAUTIFUL LADY.
That same day, Scholar Segun was summoned to face the University Disciplinary panel and was suspended indefinitely.
