CAMPUS FELLOWSHIP ON FIRE
CHAPTER 16
(Flee Youthful Lust, Part 2)

“Prayo Moses. Please help me. I lost my way and the heavy rain is blocking my vision. I think I’m lost!” She said amidst tears and chattering teeth.

By default, the Prayer Cord began muttering tongues under his breath. He had two options. He could choose to invite her in, or send her back. But what if news go round that the Prayer Cord kicked out a lost and helpless person in the rain. He wouldn’t want to bring the fellowship into another saga of negative publicity.

When Linda saw he was hesitant and was not likely to let her in, she increased from crying to wailing.

His heart couldn’t take it any longer and the Prayer cord made way for her to enter. He stood at the door and left it wide open just to be safe.

“I need a blanket sir.” Linda said still sobbing and shaking slightly.
“Take it on the shelf beside the bed stand.” He was glued at the entrance of his one room self-contain apartment.

As the girl turned, bending over and trying to stretch her hand to reach for the towel, the tensed Prayer Cord quickly averted his eyes, looking at everywhere except her frame. Linda could have easily walked to the shelf on the other side of the bed, but she wanted to give him a better view.

He started saying the Lord’s prayer subconsciously.
When he was still a baby Christian, he had struggled with pornography. His wayward friends had introduced it to him while in secondary school.

“You need to be a man, else, it would be two women on the matrimonial bed on your wedding night.”

They’d jeer at him. It took two years before he finally broke free. Now here was someone who was effortlessly making all the lewd images come back.

Prayo Moses noticed he was shivering and he doubted it was because of the cold weather.

“Oga, you’re sweating in this cold. Hope you’re not running temperature?” She knew her presence was having effect of him. She only needed to push further.

“Let me check your temperature.” She said in her most romantic tone as she made to come close to show him care.

Just then, something quickened the weakening Prayer cord. In that instant he shouted, “Blood of Jesus!”

Something like lightening bolt hit Linda so hard that she fell to the floor.
He couldn’t tell if she was unconscious or not. He didn’t wait to find out. He fled from his room leaving the door wide open.

He ran under the pouring rain to the fellowship prayer room. He wasn’t surprised to meet a praying Sister Lizzy there. It was not the first time he’ll come there and meet her praying.

In tears, he fell to the ground in prayers.
“Sir, I was about to call you sir, I was just praying for you. Please what is going on?” She said when she rounded off her prayers.

“I was tempted.” He cried.
“But you didn’t fall, did you?”
“No ma. I almost did, but I didn’t.”

Sister Lizzy stood up raised her hands to heaven. “Hallelujah o, glory to God.” She was moved to tears.
“Oga, I think we need to call for an urgent meeting.” Sister Lizzy said

“But who would want to come under this heavy rain?”
“If they don’t come, it would be God’s strategy of separating the ones He can use to fight this battle sir.”

They spent the next fifteen minutes putting calls through the remaining Executive. Thirty minutes later, a twelve-man army had formed.
~×~
Immediately she gained consciousness, Linda reported to her kingdom.
“Queen mother, I failed!” She cried and fell to her knees.

She saw the fear in the old woman’s face. She was their last hope.
“No! We shan’t stand for it. We will fight till finish! You didn’t lose the war Linda, you just lost a battle. Rise. This is not time to be a weakling.”

Linda rose from the ground.
“About a month ago, I ordered you to prepare a sumptuous meal, and present it to the Drama Cord of the fellowship. Did you?”

“Yes Queen mother. Pounded yam and egusi soup with a lot of meat and fish.”
“Did you watch him eat and finish it?”

“Yes Queen mother, he didn’t even pray over the food. He was done within minutes and he appreciated my culinary skills”. Linda snickered.

“That’s very good. It was wise of me to use his gluttonous appetite against him. He even eats in his dream. He and Comfort would probably make a perfect match.” The queen laughed wickedly at how brilliant she was.

“Anytime from now, he will collapse and die. He’s but a living zombie, just like Kenneth who’s fighting for his life in the hospital.” She said with her sinister laugh again.

“I really thought they were strong in that fellowship oo. I never knew it was all for show, and they have the audacity to shout fire and make noise? Where are they getting the power from anyway?” Linda was infuriated.

“They’re all hiding under grace, and the fact that the mighty One is always faithful to answer His name. Though they err, His covenant does not fail.”

“I don’t understand. The President is lazy and in deep spiritual slumber. The Drama Cord Is a glutton, the Gen Sec is has a foul tongue, Bro Kenneth is a womanizer and almost all the members have a secret sin or weakness they’re battling. How on earth is their God putting up with them?!”

“Don’t you know that the Mighty One is merciful and slow to anger? They’re manifesting the power, but the presence of the Mighty One has long departed from them. The glory has departed, and they’re not aware. This made your job easier.” Queen mother explained.

“But then, if their God is as merciful as you say He is, why would He allow me take down the campus fellowship? Almost all their members have been possessed through what I gave them. Their fire has gone out. The foundation is destroyed!”

“Is it not rather too early to start celebrating our victory?” Queen mother hissed. She was getting tired of Linda’s incessant questions. This was Linda’s cue to keep quiet.

“Queen mother is definitely hiding something from me.” She thought to herself.
