Campus Fellowship episode 10

CAMPUS FELLOWSHIP ON FIRE
CHAPTER 10
(Identity)

“There is a lady right here in this auditorium. You were sent by your queen in the Marine kingdom. Your mission is to pull down this great Fellowship from it’s foundation. You have failed! You can decide to come out of them and escape judgement if you confess today. It’s your choice.”

The invited Minister proclaimed under high prophetic unction. It was all fun and jamboree, not until the humbly dressed guest minister mounted the pulpit, charging the atmosphere and setting it on fire.

As instructed by God, he refused to allow the choristers back up his songs for him. He could sense the air was polluted. He felt a strong resistance at first, until he was able to break through.

“You have a choice. Choose life. Go and report yourself to the President of the house, Bro Gbile, immediately after the service.”
Linda shook with apprehension where she sat. She self conscious, as though everyone knew she was the one the minister was referring to.

She contemplated stepping out of the auditorium but kicked against that idea. There was no way anyone would leave the building without inviting suspicious stares.
Linda was covenanted into the Marine kingdom by her paternal grandmother before she could even crawl properly, and never in all her countless dreadful missions had she ever been this scared for her life.

Something tugged at her heart and she couldn’t breathe properly anymore.
“You must know your reason for being alive… Our heavenly Father is very particular about each and every one of us. None of us are here by mistake…” The minister pressed on.

“But where am I from?… Who am I exactly? Who are my biological parents? She was fighting internal battles. People around her noticed she was sweating. Bro Nathaniel who was seated by her right was nice enough to hand her a face towel as her heavy makeup had smeared.

“Jesus knows you by name my beloved sister…”
“But what exactly is my name?!”
“Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart right now beloved sister. Why not choose life today? Why not give Him a chance…?”

By now, Linda’s eye glistened with unshed tears as she questioned all Queen mother had made her believe right from childhood. If indeed there is really a place like heaven, she was going to ask President Gbile if her kind could go there.

Immediately after the service, she headed to President Gbile’s office. Unfortunately for her, a crowd of those who wanted to see him had already taken numbers in front of his office, so she decided she would confess to him another day.
On getting home, she met Haman seated comfortably, waiting for her in her bedroom.

“Ha… Haman?! How on Earth did you get inside with the doors securely locked?” She stuttered in fear. What does he want now?!

“Tch Tch Tch…” He smiled in a way that scared her. “Now is that anyway to greet your husband to be? Not even a hug?” He opened his arms.

“Just tell me why you’re snooping around. Just tell me why you broke into my room!” Her fear was slowly giving way to anger.

“Chill my dear.” Slowly lowering his hands, he edged closer towards her and placed a hand on her chin. He titled her face upwards, examining it. “Funny, I heard you might have shed a tear or two at our enemy’s camp. Am I right?”

Linda knew any show of fear on her part and he’ll comfirm the rumour. They monitored her every move.
“Haman just cut to the chase. I’m tired and I need to rest today.” She smacked his hand and moved away.

He then sat down on her sofa with folded arms and crossed legs. Smiling, he watched her as she took off her head turban and shoes. What’s he still doing here? Linda rolled her eyes. His presence intimidated her in a way.
She took off her jacket and began unbuttoning her shirt wishing he would just disappear into thin air.

“Can’t I have some privacy in my own house?!” She turned to face him in annoyance.
“You mean the house we bought for you?” He corrected. “We take care of all your needs, down to the luxury clothes and fancy underwear… So why the attitude?”
All my needs? She scoffed inwardly, but it was true. She had nothing of her own. Her soul wasn’t even hers anymore.
“Now continue with the business at hand, I won’t disturb.” He smiled coyly.

Linda was cowering inwardly, she knew him very well. He could do anything with her. He could kill her and easily get away with it. But he wouldn’t. She was too much of an asset.
“I’m never going to undress in front of you Haman. Hope you got that?!”
“But we’re practically couples… So why not?”
“Yeah, why not?” Linda reasoned. Faintly, she remembered Sister Lizzy’s charge, “IMMORALITY KILLS” She was surprised because she had never paid attention to ANY sermon.

“You’ve been betrothed to me ever since you were a child. Can it be any more official than that?” He argued.

Haman had a domineering attitude, but Linda stood her ground.
“Go now. If not, I’ll back out of this mission. You of all people should know it would be impossible to find someone brave and courageous enough to take it up.” She challenged. He was giving her dreadful looks from where he sat but she remained unbothered.

Turning her back to him, she continued like he wasn’t there and when she was done unbuttoning her shirt, he was gone. The next day, Linda was the first to arrive at President Gbile’s office.
