EPISODE 03
By just looking at Martin, Vivian could suddenly tell that he was special and different from every other guy she had met in the past. Even though she had just met Martin and they had spent just 3 hours waiting for the Mechanic to fix the car, Vivian felt something for him, and her feelings werenāt fake or forced because she felt that Martin was genuine and a real deal.
Vivian didnāt need a seer to tell her that Martin was an angel in human form. His voice and words were calm and peaceful and it was obvious that he was a rich kid that was well brought up. There was just something special about his eyes and the way he smiled; and when he asked for Vivianās name and phone number, she gave out her name and phone number without hesitating.
interestingly, Martin was quite interested to know more about Vivian and probably to see her again. Which is why he requested for her name and phone number. āWhere do you live?ā Martin curiously enquired and Vivian was shocked with the fact that she gave out her exact location to a total stranger.
The conversation they were having seemed to be giving Martin a great joy, that he didnāt want it to end but finally they parted ways as Martin promised to call her.
All through the drive home, Vivian thought of the calm and peaceful words that proceeded out of Martinās mouth. Vivian was surprised deep down in her heart because no man has ever touched her heart like that before.
āNo man has ever given me such good vibes, he treated me with so much respect, I feel like I have known him for a long time!ā Vivian thought
In no time, Vivian arrived home and as she walked into the kitchen to get something to eat, her phone rang. It was an unknown number and Vivian reluctantly picked up.
āHello Vivian, are you home now?ā A voice said at the other end of the phone.
Vivian doesnāt need a soothsayer to tell her that the caller was Martin.
āHey Martin, yes Iām home nowā Vivian replied half shyly.
Vivian was so happy that Martin called her as the phone call actually made an impact and gave her the impression that Martin liked her too.
For the first time in her life, Vivian felt special and wanted, they talked for a while, Vivian gladly thanked him once again for been far too kind. And finally they ended the call but with no schedule to meet or see each other again.
But after the phone call, Vivian was so elated as she saved Martinās phone number instantly. It was obvious that she had fallen for him. But when Vivian remembered how many times she had experience heartbreak, the thought brought tears to her eyes because no man has ever been serious with her.
Vivian suddenly became emotional and she decided not to make the same mistakes she had made in her previous relationships.
āI always fell for useless guys so easily, but why do I feel that Martin is differentā¦.. And why am I thinking about him when he hadnāt said anything to me, for Christās sake, we met each other today and why am I going crazy?ā Vivian thought.
Vivian tried getting Martin out of her mind but the more she tried not to, the more she just couldnāt stop thinking of Martin and all the different way he made her feel in just one day of their meeting. As she wallowed in thoughts, one thing was clear and it was the fact that Martin was different from all the men she had ever been with. Every thought of Martin brought smiles to her face and she wished those happy feelings lasted forever.
Two weeks had passed and Martin didnāt call Vivian again. Vivian felt so dejected. āMaybe the feeling was not mutual, well I appreciate his kindness, I canāt forget how he waited for a whole 3 hours, he waited till my car was fixed and he also paid for the service. Oh what a nice guyā Vivian thought.
One morning, Vivian woke up in the wrong side of the bed, she was so angry, frustrated and confused.
Just as She was lost in thoughts, she was brought back to reality when her phone rang. One look at her screen and her heart suddenly jumped for joy.
She picked up the call and the voice she heard brought smiles to her face.
āHey Martinā She greeted.
Vivian was so excited as Martin spoke at the other end of the phone. They exchanged warm greetings and chatted for a while.
āI went on a business tripā¦..it was an emergency trip.. i travelled for some important deals, I was so busy, meetings here and thereā¦but you were always on my mind ā¦ā Martin revealed āVivian, you didnāt call me not even onceā he added.
āIām so sorry, I was busy as well butā¦. you were always in my thoughts as wellā she replied. Martin smiled and said
āReally? Iām glad to hear that because ever since I met you, you have always been on my mind, I canāt wait to see you againā
Vivian was so excited to know that Martin was also thinking about her, the whole time but she tried her best to comport herself on the phone.
āVivian, youāre not saying anything, are you still there?ā Martin asked again after he figured she was mute.
ā Martin, I appreciate your help the other day and Iām sorry that I didnāt call you not even onceā Vivian finally said.
āItās okay Vivian, I want to see you again, thatās if you donāt mind, thereās something I want to discuss with youā Martin said calmly.
āI hope thereās no problem, please tell meā Vivian uttered
āI think that discussion will be more interesting if itās done over a cup of coffee or During lunchā¦.Please, Letās meet up and talk, or what do you think?ā Martin added.
But Vivian didnāt say a word, she was Just excited within.
āDid he just ask me out on a date?ā Vivian thought
āVivian, I really want to see youā¦ Please letās meet up at noonā Martin continued
Vivian and Martin finally agreed to meet up that same day at a very popular restaurant before they said their āgoodbyesā and ended the call.
At noon, Vivian headed towards the restaurant to meet up with Martin excitedly. In no time, she arrived and walked straight into the restaurant, She was pleased to see Martin waiting for her. After exchanging a friendly hug, they sat down, talked for a while, they ordered for a meal and the meal was served, they ate together like one happy couple.
After having the meal, Vivianās heart raced as Martin officially asked her out and she gave in without hesitation.
āMartin, i like you too but please letās take things slow, so we could know each other betterā Vivian entered
And Martin agreed, just like Vivian, he had also experienced many heart breaks and disappointments from his past relationships and he was hoping that his new relationship with Vivian will be different. They promised to be transparent with each other and to tell one another the truth at all time.
After that day, Vivian and Martin went on many dates, their relationship was so beautiful, They were so into each other.
Some months later, Vivian introduced him to her family and of course, Martin met her son, Eric. In no time Martin became so fond of the little boy. Vivian was so excited to finally find someone one who was attached to her son.
With Martin by Vivianās side, she felt fulfilled and she was ready to go for her dreams. Time went bye so quickly as Vivian graduated from the medical school, she pursued her medical career and her mother gradually became so proud of her.
The woman was so excited to see her daughter happy with herself.
āI can see how much your life had improved ever since Martin came in to your life, he is an angel, his kind is rare. I canāt Still believe he stayed after you told him you have a sonā Vivianās mother had said. Vivian smiled and her mother continued
āI have noticed how close he is with Eric, my grand sonā¦ they love each otherā¦. Well itās a good thing that Martin loves my grand son, and I pray your relationship with him leads to marriageā¦ Come to think of itā¦ my daughter have you been intimate with him? You knowā¦ have you slept with him?ā Vivianās mother asked .
āMomā¦.. No.. he wants toā¦ Butā¦. Mom why did you ask?ā Vivian responded half shyly.
āNothing ohā¦. I just want to knowā Vivianās mother continued.
āMomā¦. You just want to know? Mom?ā Vivian added half shyly.
āMartin is a good young man but nevertheless you should wait after marriage, I believe itās because you did the right thing this time thatās why he is still here, men donāt appreciate loosed womenā Vivianās mother added.
āMom, I donāt think so, I have a son already and any man could easily tell that I was loosed because I had s*x before I got pregnant and had Eric, Iām not proud of the kind of life I lived, but I guess God is giving me a second chance ā Vivian entered in tears
āYou are right my child, donāt cry, itās okay my daughter, you are not a loose woman just because you had Eric, it was circumstances that led you into the hands of chief Okoh, the good part of this story is that you have a lovely son and you have a man who loves you now. Please donāt live in the past, move forward and fulfill your destinyā Vivianās mother concluded.
Six months later, one cool Sunday evening, Martin finally proposed to Vivian and she gladly accepted. The two love birds went out to celebrate at a very classic bar, where different kind of drinks were sold.
Out of excitement, they ordered both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks to celebrate their engagement, and at the end of that date, they both ended up drunk.
The next morning, Vivian was so shocked to wake up n***d beside Martin. One stare, Vivian knew they were in Martinās bed room. It was obvious that they had s*x all through the night. Vivian who was so disappointed with herself, tried to remember what had happened last night.
She remembered that when they left the bar drunk as they were heading home, Martin almost lost control of the car due his drunken state. Out of fear, They decided to park the car at the bar and they ordered for a cab, that drove them down to Martinās house, where she spent the night.
Few weeks later, Something happened, Vivian was so shocked when she found out that she was expecting Martinās child.
When she told her mother about the pregnancy, the old woman was disappointed in her again.
āNot again, how could you allow this to happen? I thought you wanted to do things right, why didnāt you wait till your wedding night, what will happen if Martin decide to leave now? You are so foolishā Vivianās mother said at once.
āMom, Martin will not leave me not now or ever, he had proposed to me and he loves me so muchā¦we are engaged..he is with me foreverā Vivian entered even though she was so scared too.
āYou are sounding like a child, Iām so disappointed in youā Vivianās mother added and walked away in anger.
For weeks, Vivian was too scared to inform Martin about the pregnancy.
āWhat if he leaves? What if my mother was right, oh God please I know I have sinned again but please Lord do not forsake me. I donāt want to be a single parent of two children. Please let the love Martin feels for me be true like he claimedā Vivian thought.
Vivian who couldnāt hide the truth from Martin any longer, decided to open up.
One day, She was lost in her thought, when her phone rang.
Lo and behold the call was from Martin. Vivian picked up nervously.
āHey my love, how are you?ā Martin greeted warmly.
āMartin Iām not fine, Iām scaredā¦.. Iām terrifiedā Vivian entered in tears.
āMy love, what happened? Please talk to me, itās been a while, are you okay?ā Martin added.
Vivian lost her voice as she couldnāt utter a word, she was just crying over the phone, Martin hanged up and that broke Vivianās heart the more.
An hour later, Vivian was shocked to see Martin in her house, she ran into his arms and they hugged each other so tightly. When Martin saw that Vivian was calm and was in her right frame of mind.
He asked āMy love, can you tell me why you were scared? For weeks you refused to take my callsā¦ What have I done?ā
Vivian was mute for a while and when she noticed that Martin couldnāt bear her silence, she finally revealed that she was pregnant with his child.
āWhat?ā Martin exclaimed. It was obvious that he was shocked as it shown clearly in his face and in his voice.
āI know that you donāt love me, the love you claim you have for me is fake even the marriage proposal right?ā Vivian threw in.
āMy love what are you saying, I love you and I want to marry you, Iām just shocked because I didnāt see that coming, we only made love onceā¦..we were both drunk remember and I never thought you will end up pregnant but I swear I love you and I want our child. We have to fix a date for our wedding but first I will have to introduce you to my family. Please donāt ever doubt my love, I love youā Martin entered calmly.
Vivian hugged him with tears falling from her eyes.
āIām sorry please forgive meā she said. Martin kissed her so passionately and reassured her of his undying love.
