Now what if it is a two way pain that doesn’t only affect the one cheated on but also the person cheated with?. What if the supposed ‘home wrecker’ had no clue about the marital status of the person she was involved with?. What if the home wrecker isn’t to be blamed much but rather the main culprit who kept his marital status away from an innocent lady he had just met and wooed till she genuinely fell in love with him?. In such case, It’s safe to say that a Love Triangle was formed with two parties totally clueless of the fact that they were being cheated on. This was the sad reality of a once happy couple.

It all began in a bar one Saturday evening. On that fateful day, Nicole and her boss had a heated argument at the office which got her furious all day long. After work, she decided to first cool off at a nearby bar before heading home. Nicole was the perfect example of a dead-drop damsel. She possessed every single qualities that would have any man without self-control drooling just at the sight of her. Matter of fact, the reason she wasn’t in good terms with her boss was due to the fact that he made intimate advances towards her but she declined and since then, he resorted to frustrating her at any given opportunity he had.

On that fateful day, Nicole was seated at the extreme end of the bar sipping her drink when a handsome gentleman majestically walked in looking sad. At first, she was drawn to him but later shut down any emotion his presence ignited in her. The gentleman seemed like one in his early thirties while Nicole was in her late twenties. As she sat pretty sipping her drink, she noticed him walking towards her direction. On seeing that he was walking towards her chair, her heart dropped but she managed to comport herself.

“Hi there, would you mind if I sit with you?” The mysterious man asked and Nicole gently nodded ‘Yes’ while still sipping her drink. The atmosphere seemed a bit awkward but not for too long. “My name is Jerry, thanks for letting me share your seat” he calmly said. She looked towards his direction and smiled; “Oh it’s nothing, it’s not like I gave you life or anything; it’s just a seat” she instantly replied.

That subtle sarcasm from Nicole gave room for more conversation to spring forth. “Actually, I feel alive by just sitting next to you so I guess you gave me more than just a seat” Jerry jokingly chipped in and she rolled her eyes and smiled faintly while at it.

Without being told, Nicole could sense that Jerry was troubled and sad. The atmosphere become less awkward after their little chit chat but they weren’t heading anywhere in terms of having an actual conversation. It’s apparent that the frustration and argument from work made Nicole a bit hesitant to keep the conversion going and also less excited to meet a new face despite how handsome, cool, calm and collected Jerry seemed. Just when they felt they had reached a dead end with each other, a breakthrough happened.

“You seemed upset about something, would you like to share? I’m a good listener” Nicole calmly asked and Jerry smiled; “I think I should be asking you same question rather because you seem sad” he said. After much persuasion, Nicole finally opened up to Jerry about her stressful day which led to more conversations between them. Before either of them knew it, an hour had gone by but they weren’t aware because they were too engrossed in the conversation they were having.

After over 2 hours of an in depth conversation, Jerry concluded by assuring Nicole of how much of an amazing person she was and why she shouldn’t let her boss shenanigans get to her. After that, he beconked on the waiter to bring both their bills and that was when Nicole noticed the round scar on his wedding ring finger. You know that faint round scars that become visible on your finger after wearing ring for a very long time? That was the exact kind of scar she noticed on his wedding finger.

At that point in time, Nicole was already feeling really attracted to Jerry. She had been swept off her feet by his handsomeness, coupled with his amazing gentle personality. She had already fallen for him without her consent so it was such a ‘buzz kill’ to find that scar on his wedding ring finger even though he wasn’t putting on any ring at the time. In order not to assume further, she summoned the courage to inquire about the scar.

“Why do you have those?” Nicole calmly asked out of nowhere. “Have what?” Jerry asked and she pointed at his wedding ring finger; “Why do you have this scar? Are you married?” She curiously inquired but he was fast to shut down those thoughts. “Oh no! These are scars I got from wearing random rings; I’m such a sucker for fashion rings because I love them. Don’t worry, I’m very much available and not taken” he swiftly said while handing his card over to the waiter to pay for their drinks. Without putting much thought and effort into it, she waived the thought of him being married from her mind as they got up to leave.

As they walked to the parking lot, Jerry showed his gentleman traits by opening Nicole’s car door for her to get in after she unlocked it with her car remote. When she was comfortably seated in her car, he knocked on the window and she wined down the car window. “When am I seeing you again? I love your company and would love to see you again” he calmly said. Without saying a word, Nicole inserted her hand inside her bag and brought out her card. “Call me” she said with a smile on her face before driving off.

Immediately Nicole was out of sight, Jerry slipped the card into his pocket and got into his car. He was about driving off when his phone rang. He reluctantly removed the phone from his pocket to see who was calling and the name that popped up on his screen was ‘Wifey’.
