EPISODE 10
“Jubril?” He said while holding the picture. Rebecca’s mum caught him in the act.
“What are you doing?” She asked
“Sorry, Is this Rebecca’s father?”
“You don’t have the right to ask questions here. And you have not started any of these” she pointed at the dirty clothes.
Imma could only do the dishes, he washed them in tears.
“My mum finally abandoned me, I knew she was never proud of me. How did prof Sophia know I’m in jail, Aunty Gladys looks so unhappy, is so obvious God never loved me, he created me to suffer, I pray my death comes quicker than I expected”
Rebecca’s mum maltreated Imma, he eats one time a day. She did not allow anyone to visit him.
After a month of hard labor, Imma went to God in prayers “God I still have 11months ahead, it looks like an eternity, help me, you delivered me in prison, you can still deliver me” he prayed fervently. He slept off on the spot. He had a dream and saw himself in a conference hall.
“I welcome you all to our annual star conference, let’s welcome our guest speaker but I will let him introduce himself,” The moderator said as
an old man walked up to the podium. He was wearing a white robe, and a crown and had a king staff in his hands.
“Thanks for this opportunity, a long time ago, a Sun and a Moon gave birth to 12 stars, and one out of the 12 stars was born to shine brighter than the rest. There was a prophecy that the Sun, the moon, and the 11stars will bow down to him. This lead to jealousy and hatred. They threw him in a pit, This star was in so much pain, but God called it progress. He was sold as a slave and at a time it looks like things were going well, and all of a sudden a woman falsely accused him of Rape. This star was thrown into the prison, he was so much in pain, but God still called it progress. It was all God’s strategy to get the devil off his destiny. He interpreted a dream in the prison, he used his gift even in pain and after two years he was remembered. His light sprang forth. He became the prime minister in the land he was sold to as a slave. The Sun, the Moon and the 11 stars eventually bowed to him. I am that brightest star, and my name is Joseph.”
The congregation clapped for him in a standing ovation.
“Please sit down, what distinguished me was my story, one day your story will distinguish you, your story will bring you honor that man will admire, but they will not be able to get it because they did not experience your kind of pain. It will get to a point where only those who have gone through your kind of pain can stand where you stand. Even among stars, we have the brightest. The brightest is determined by the level of pain. Not everything that looks negative is demonic some are God’s strategies.
A man asked God “why are you taking me through troubled waters and God answered him; ” Because your enemies can’t swim”
“I was in pain for years but God called it progress, could it be that that pain you are passing through is a ladder to your greatness. Adversities has Advantages.” The congregation clapped again
“Thank you all. Let us pray” The congregation stood up to pray when Imma woke up.
He woke up to see Rebecca’s mum crying profusely beside him.
