*EPISODE 3*
((CHANGE OF RULES))
Bayo waited in his car until Oye finished from work. When he saw her coming out of the hospital, he quickly got out of his car and walked towards her.
“Hello, Oye.” Standing next to her, Bayo waved.
Seeing him unexpectedly, almost gave Oye a heart attack.
“What are you still doing here?.” She asked not believing her eyes.
“Well, I just couldn’t leave without getting to know you better. At least to satisfy my curiosity.” Bayo lied like a pro.
“What silly curiosity are you trying to satisfy?. Listen, don’t take my words as a joke. Because I meant everything I said to you in the morning. One suspicious move from you, and I won’t hesitate to call the police on you.” Oye threatened.
“When did it become a crime for a young, single, and vibrant man like me to communicate my intentions to a lady who has inspired my imagination?” Bayo asked, taking a few steps closer to Oye, who was staring at him rigidly.
“How can she be as strong-hearted and fearless as a man?” Bayo wondered when none of his tactics got through to her.
“You must think I was joking when I said, another suspicious move and I’m going to call the police,” Oye said.
And without hesitation, she pulled her phone out of the purse she was carrying. And immediately she had the phone in her hand, Bayo flipped it up and caught it in his hand.
“And, what do you think you’re doing?.” Oye asked amazed.
“Making sure you don’t call the police. Because I didn’t do anything wrong to get arrested.” Bayo said, putting her phone in his b****t pocket.
“Look, Bayo. I don’t have the strength and time for your jokes. So please give me back my phone.” Oye said, stretching out her right palm with her left palm resting on her waist.
“I will return your phone on one condition,” Bayo said.
“And what is your condition?” Oye asked crossing her arms.
“That you will permit me to drive you home,” Bayo said.
Upon hearing this, Oye scoffed, and said, “Is that your way of kidnapping me?. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you. Your plans to tactically kidnap me have failed. Because I’m smarter than you’ll ever imagine.” Oye clicked her tongue at Bayo, who was utterly frustrated by her stubbornness.
“If I had wanted to kidnap you, I would have done so long ago. Besides, I’ve already met your grandma.” Bayo said.
Oye was completely shocked when she heard that from Bayo’s mouth. She glared incredibly at Bayo, who shrugged his shoulders.
And surprisingly, Bayo received a dirty slap in the face.
“You stalker. Make sure nothing bad happens to my grandma. Because if it does, then be rest assured that you won’t be able to take what I will serve you.” Oye yelled in his face.
After that, she angrily grabbed her phone from his b****t pocket and walked away, leaving Bayo in utter surprise.
“This girl is trouble,” Bayo said, rubbing his cheek.
He watched as Oye stopped a cab and drove out of sight. He then went back to his car and got in, still rubbing his cheek.
“How can her slap be as strong as a man’s?” Bayo wondered.
He was about to turn to leave when a strange thought struck him.
“What if she did all this to keep me from the truth she’s hiding?. What if she’s just pretending she didn’t recognize my face?” He thought deeply. Then he said. “There’s only one way to find out.”
He quickly started his car engine and sped down to Oye’s house at full speed. Because he knew she wouldn’t be at the pharmacy due to the ongoing police investigation.
Back at Oye’s house.
Oye got out of the cab and paid the cab driver, after which she walked into the compound, only to find her grandmother crying outside with her belongings scattered all over the premises.
Seeing her grandmother on the floor crying, she quickly ran to her and knelt before taking her hand in hers.
“Grandma, what’s going on? Why are you sitting outside on the floor?. Why are our things scattered everywhere? What’s wrong?” she asked through tears.
“The loan shark has come to collect his loan.” Her grandmother cried.
Oye was completely speechless. She got up and went ahead to plead with the moneylender, who was busy telling his boys to bring their things out.
The moneylender was popularly known as Baba Tunde. Baba Tunde was a moneylender who offered loans at extremely high-interest rates. He had strict terms and does not use the legal system to collect his debts. He often resorted to enforcing repayment by force and threats of force.
But what prompted him to collect his money sooner than expected, was that Oye turned him down on various occasions. And as such, he decided to teach her a lesson by coming to humiliate her and her grandmother.
Oye walked up to him and got on her knees, grabbing his leg and pleading with him while tears welled down her eyes.
She kept begging him to please give them more time to raise the money. But he angrily kicked her hands off his feet and continued to give his boys the orders to bring out every valuable property from their room.
At that moment, Bayo entered and what he saw infuriated him. He quickly went to Oye’s grandmother and helped her up. He gently helped her sit down on the wooden bench that stood at the corner of the compound.
When Oye saw him, she was more ashamed than angry. She couldn’t bring herself to confront him for coming to her house uninvited. She just stayed kneeling on the floor with her head bowed in shame and pain.
Bayo, unable to control his anger, went to Baba Tunde and grabbed his collar.
“Why did you have to hurt these innocent people? You know very well that they are defenseless women. Yet, you came after them?. What is their crime?” Bayo raged over Baba Tunde’s face.
“Young man, what is your problem?” Baba Tunde asked confused.
“Same thing I’ve been wanting to ask you. What’s your problem with them?” Bayo yelled out to his face in anger.
“Who are you?. Are you the old woman’s hidden son?. Or are you her granddaughter’s secret boyfriend?” Baba Tunde asked not knowing where Bayo suddenly appeared from.
“Unfortunately, I’m the man who’s going to give you the worst beating of your life,” Bayo said, glaring at Baba Tunde.
