*EPISODE 2*
(CHANGE OF RULES)
Oye Adesola, 25 years old, was a vibrant woman full of life. She was a nurse who ran her late father’s pharmacy. She lived with her grandmother after her parents died.
Due to the death of the police officer who was shot by Bayo, all the shops in the area were closed. Waiting for the police to finish investigating the cause of death of the deceased officer.
When Bayo heard this, he had to trace her to her house. He arrived at her residence but met her absence instead. After inquiring from her grandma about where Oye had gone off to, he then went ahead to go pay a visit to the hospital where she worked.
When he arrived at the hospital, he asked around for nurse Oye. Afterwhich, he was directed to where she was attending to some elderly patients. Bayo stood outside and kept looking at her. He saw how cheerful and free Oye was with the elderly. He also noticed how much oye was loved by them. He stood there for a long time watching her attend to her elderly patients until finally, she turned and her gaze caught with him. And immediately, Bayo quickly looked away with his heartbeat racing faster.
“What if she recognizes my face?” he asked, turning away, with his heartbeat racing.
He stood there for some time, and when he felt no sign of oye coming toward him, he slowly turned to see if she was still there.
But his heart almost jumped out of his mouth as he turned to meet the gaze of Oye, who was already standing next to him, with her arms crossed.
“Holy Moses!.” Bayo yelled in shock with his hand on his chest. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack?” He asked.
Oye didn’t say a word. She took a few steps closer to Bayo, still staring at him with her arms crossed.
“Why does your face look so familiar? Have we met before?” Oye asked, glaring at him.
“Oh no! She recognized my face” He said and slowly reached for his gun in his back pocket.
“Do you know me?.” he asked, with his heart beating faster.
“I think I’ve seen this face somewhere,” Oye said, rubbing her chin like she had beards.
At this point, Bayo almost urinated on himself while continuing to wait for her to let the cat out of the bag. Then, after many looks, Oye finally spoke up.
“Aren’t you the guy who I saw in traffic the other day?. The one who was eyeing me in his car” Oye said pointing at him.
When Bayo heard that, he breathed a sigh of relief. Then he said to himself:
“Thank God she doesn’t recognize me from the crime scene.” He said relaxing his mind. But then, Oye’s words played in his head.
“Wait a minute.” He tried to clarify what he just heard. “Did you just say I eyed you in traffic?.” He asked, with his eyes wide with shock.
“Yes, you. I remember you lustfully staring at me like a pervert over and over again.” Oye said.
“Huh? Are you kidding me? It was you who rolled your eyes at me and not the other way around.” said Bayo.
“For real? Do you think I’m the type to just roll my eye at people who haven’t done anything to me?” Oye asked, staring at him.
“How should I know?” Bayo asked, blinking his eyes. “Nevertheless, I didn’t lustfully stare at you in traffic. It was you who rolled your eyes at me for no reason.” Bayo said.
“For real?.” Oye asked taking a few steps closer. “So you’re indirectly calling me a troublemaker, right?” she asked, nodding her head.
“Well obviously you look like one with the way you act,” Bayo said.
“What is that your name again?” Oye asked, tapping her foot on the floor.
“Bayo. And why do you ask?” Bayo asked, staring at her curiously.
“Just so I can file a police report if I later find out my suspicions about you are true,” Oye said, writing his name on the file she was holding.
“And what suspicion are you talking about?” Bayo asked completely confused.
“My suspicion that you’re a pervert. Or better yet, a womanizer,” said Oye.
“Are you serious?” Bayo asked in disbelief.
“More than serious, Bayo,” Oye said with a straight face.
“For heaven’s sake, Oye, I’m not a pervert,” Bayo yelled.
“Did you just mention my name?” Oye asked without believing her ears.
Bayo couldn’t find the right words to explain how he had come to know her name. And as such, he simply remained silent, completely at a loss for words.
“Oh!. So you’re one of those men who haunt me, right?. It wasn’t enough that you lusted at me in the traffic. You found my name without my permission. And now you followed me to my workplace to monitor my life?.” Oye said, almost going insane.
When Bayo heard that, he had to make himself clear. “Look, Oye, I’m not a pervert. I’m not a stalker either. You’re getting the wrong impression of me.” Bayo said.
“Really? Okay then. Can you tell me what brought you here? Why are you here?” Oye asked.
“Well, that’s because I wanted to confirm something,” Bayo said.
“Something like what?” Yemi asked.
“It’s very personal,” Bayo said.
“Which confirms my suspicions. I know your type. I have met people like you. Do you think I don’t know your techniques?. Eyes on you, I’ll make sure to report you to the police.” Oye yelled in his face.
Bayo was completely speechless.
“What does she think of herself? She’s nothing compared to all the girls I’ve met. What a proud and crazy creature she is.” Bayo said as he exited the hospital.
Stepping outside, he quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Chief Afolabi’s number.
“Hello, boss.” He greeted.
“Hello, Bayo,” Chief Afolabi responded.
“Yes, boss. I just came from Oye’s place of work,” said Bayo.
“Who is Oye?” Chief Afolabi asked.
“The lady who saw me leave the crime scene,” said Bayo.
“Oh! OK, so what did you find out? Does she know anything about the incident?” Chief Afolabi asked, sitting up straight.
“No, sir. She doesn’t recognize my face,” said Bayo.
“How can you be so sure?.” asked Chief Afolabi.
“Because I just met her. Aside from being a crazy and talkative girl, there’s nothing fishy or out of the ordinary about her,” Bayo said.
“You can never tell if she’s playing smart with you. Since you’re not coming to work today, I’ll allow you to spend the whole day monitoring her movements. And don’t hesitate to shoot her. If you notice anything suspicious about her movement.” Chief Afolabi said.
“Yes, Boss” Bayo reluctantly answered.
