CAMPUS FELLOWSHIP ON FIRE
CHAPTER 5
(Strange fire)
“You’re welcome sister Linda. Thanks for honouring our invitation.” President Gbile said as he ushered Linda into his office one evening.

Barely one month after Linda joining the fellowship, she became popular and was loved by all and sundry.
“Thanks so much for inviting me sir.” She smiled shyly. But inwardly she was fidgeting.

“Have I been found out? Do they know who I am already? What will I tell Queen mother now? What would become of my plan?” She played nervously with her fingers.

“You may have your seat, I won’t keep you for long anyways.” President Gbile, the fellowship president pulled his chair closer and sat down while Linda sat across from him.
“I know you must be wondering why I called you here ma.”

This is it Queen Mother. I failed before getting started. This task is truly beyond me. They saw right through me. I was a fool to have underestimated them.

“Relax, Sister Linda. You seem nervous. Please don’t be.” President Gbile smiled. Perhaps his serious face was making her all tense.

“We the leaders of the great house have noticed your commitment and consistency towards the things of the kingdom and how you’re fervently serving the Lord…” President Gbile started.

“Pheew!” Linda sighed inwardly in relief. So she hadn’t been found out after all. She didn’t even hear what the President was saying. She got lost as she became re- energized to complete her mission once again.

“… So Sister Linda, would you be available to work in God’s vineyard as assistant music director?” President Gbile continued. Everyone loves and adores you. What about your voice? It’s just divine and out of this world! We know you’ll make the Father proud.” The President beamed and stretched his hand to shake her.

“All…alright sir. I won’t fail the church. I promise!” This mission is going to be easier than I thought! Haman was afraid for nothing.” She left the office happy and energized.

That evening, Queen Mother organized a small party to celebrate her minor victory. “I just knew you were up to the task Linda.” She smiled.

“For this reason, I believe you deserve a promotion. I’m going to increase your rank. You’ll have all the benefits and honour of a level 12 agent. I’m sure you’re excited to hear that.”

There was no time to waste. Linda began to take action immediately. Many of the songs ministered in the fellowship were gotten from secular artists whose lifestyles were not worth emulating. Many of them had criminal records related to drug trafficking and majority of their music videos contained explicit sexual content.

It was not long before the spirits behind these obscene, immoral and sometimes violent songs began to manifest in the lives of the fellowship members. During the praise and worship session, the whole auditorium becomes more like a club than a church.

Prayo Moses always felt tense and uneasy whenever “Sister Linda” was around. He didn’t fall for her charm, neither did her smile captivate him.

After another dead service, he and the Sisters coordinator decided to have a meeting with the President.
