LIFE IMPRISONMENT 11
WRITTEN BY: GRACE OLAYEMI
Mr Emmanuel was still in his office, fuming and trying to understand why the CSP would speak to him in such manner. He knew the CSP was a short-tempered man that lacked speaking ethics but he had never heard him speak to anyone as badly as he just spoke to him. He was still wondering what could have gone wrong when a Constable ran into his office.
“Sir! Sir! Sir! The city is on fire!” He screamed incoherently and Mr Emmanuel shot to his feet.
“What is it? What happened?” He inquired as panic took over him and he trembled gently though he was quietly calming himself and was already praying in his heart that the Holy Spirit would take control of whatever the problem was.
“It’s Danger o! he has done it again!” The constable said and Mr Emmanuel’s heart sank. He had called the CSP in the morning to have him check his mail so he could sign the arrest warrant for Danger. If he had signed it, they would have arrested him and whatever he did again would have been impossible.
“Let the boys get ready to go to the site immediately,” he said and the Constable shook his head.
“Sir, Danger did not steal, rape, burn or kill anyone this time. He abducted some students from the Community Primary School and the number of those students are yet to be confirmed.”
“What?” Mr Emmanuel screamed. He could not believe what he just heard. “Why is this happening at this time?” He asked no one in particular.
“Have the police from the community gone to the school?”
“Yes sir!”
“We need to send some delegates from the headquarters so we can immediately know how to handle the situation. Since we have Danger’s file here, it would be wise for us to handle the situation.”
He dismissed the Constable and called his assistant. Some police men were sent to the community to get first hand information about what had happened. He told his assistant to go with some of their boys to arrest Danger immediately even without the arrest warrant. He was not ready to take chances anymore.
About seventy policemen were sent to his apartment and they were all fully armed and well-skilled. The house was invaded and though there was no one in the house, they received the instruction to stay there until Danger returned.
Mr Emmanuel was so determined to catch Danger that he totally forgot about the mole that was in the Force.

“Whew! Dealing with children is so tiring,” Danger said and sighed as they carefully led the children through the bush path that led to the secret warehouse where they would hide the children.
They had initially thought of giving the children something that would make them to sleep so that they would not master the route to the warehouse to avoid any overly smart child playing a fast one on them. But the thought of carrying 50 children made them change their minds and they only tied the children with one another, making it impossible for any of them to escape. The police that tried to trail them had been misled and they knew no one could ever locate the children there. They took the children to the room on the first floor when they arrived the five-storey warehouse that was beautifully decorated by bushes and impossible to be seen from afar.
“Let’s do the video immediately,” Trouble suggested and they all agreed.
They positioned the camera and made sure that their camouflage was in place before they started the recording. They watched the edited video over and over again before Trouble posted it. He made sure to tag the President, Governor, IG and even the CP of their state.
He instructed his guys to give the children something to eat as he retired to rest. He received a call from his other guys that did not go with them for the operation that one of their houses had been invaded by the police. He was surprised to hear that because he never foresaw the possibility of the police locating any of their houses. He thought probably their informant had betrayed them but then he was sure that even the informant did not know where any of their houses were as they only met with him in public places.
Trouble entered the room Danger was and he didn’t hesitate to feed him on the latest development. They called the guys back to know the details of what was happening in town.
“Was it Dare that sold us out?” Danger asked immediately the call was answered.
“No! He was the one that called to inform us to leave the house as the police were coming to arrest you. He was also surprised as to how the new SP knew where we lived. We were able to get some things out of the house and since the house is not our main house I’m thinking we can burn it.”
“No!”
“They might break into the house and who knows might find some incriminating things against us.”
“Do you think they don’t have something against us already? I don’t think that SP can send his boys down if he didn’t have concrete evidence.”
“That’s true”.
“Let’s treat them to a nice barbecue. Call Drown and ask him to give you quality explosives then you guys will plant them in the house at night and blow up those bastards.”
“Wow! That’s brilliant, boss. We will give you feedback.”
Danger dropped the call and checked the reaction to the video he posted on social media. The video had gone viral and since he used a private account there was no way the account could be traced. He relieved himself by laughing at some of the comments of the citizens. Some parents were pleading with him not to harm the children, some rained curses on him and the government while some pleaded with the government to respond quickly before the end of the 48hours ultimatum.
