EPISODE 8
“Introduce yourself please,” The Judge said
“I’m Barr Peace, my client here Imma Davidson has been wrongly accused of Kidnapping and murdering. I’ve gotten enough evidence to prove that Imma is not guilty of this offense. The deceased willingly followed him to his house on the 11th of June. Here are some pictures they took, while they were together” He handed over the pictures to the Judge
“Your Honor, you can see the deceased was smiling happily in the pictures, one who was kidnapped will never do that. Here is a camera showing what happened on the day Miss Rebecca died”
The judge went through the video and saw how Rebecca was begging Imma to tell his mother she was not with him. And how she hid till she suffocated.
“Your Honor, from my observation in that video, I found out the deceased mother has not been showing proper affection to her daughter, or why will a child be hiding from her mother, some sources claimed she has been maltreating her”
“Objection my Lord,” His opponent; Barr. Badmus asked in anger
“Objection overruled!”
“Thank you my lord” Barr. Peace continued “May I call my first witness”
Prof Sophia Ime walked to the witness box. She was given a bible and made to swear. “I’m the new neighbor to the accused. I found the hidden camera and some other details that proved his innocence.”
“Thank you Prof Ime, your honor may I present my second witness.”
This time Gladys walked into the courtroom and went straight to the witness box. Imma broke down in tears
“I am the guardian to Imma Davidson. Rebecca begged to go home with us. We looked for her mother to inform her, but couldn’t find her, we left when it was getting dark. They were best of friends”
“Meaning you were there when the incident happened,” The Judge asked
“I was not there” The people began to murmur
“Order!!!”
“That happened in my absence but I’m sure he didn’t kill her, the camera confirmed that.”
“Okay, so Barr. Badmus do you have anything to say”
“Thank you, my lord, I’m so convinced all these stories were fabricated, who will accommodate someone without the concept of the person’s family”
The Judge took a deep breath “After hearing all that has been said, this is my judgement.”
To be continued.
