JUDGEMENT DAY 5
I smashed the flower pot as I fell on it. Ugly Uncle who was sitting there managed to escaped .
His wife was busy abusing me like I was a condemned criminal awaiting execution.
Just when I was about to be swallowed like Jonah, someone banged on the gate.
It was the laundry man.
He had mistakenly swapped my trouser.
The used pack of condom was from another customer’s trouser. So he mistakenly emptied the content of the pocket of the trouser to my wife, since the two trousers were of the same color.
So he ran to my place to rescue me because he knew what my wife could do.
After the gate was opened for him and he explained the rather unfortunate mistake, I was set free.
Everyone blamed him for giving such an information to my wife knowing very well what it could have meant.
He apologized and left.
My wife apologized too. I was about to begin my own drama with my wife for false accusation when the same man I met in the hotel with Ugly Uncle’s wife entered the compound.
Accompanying him were three men.
Ugly Uncle’s wife was seen shaking.
She tried to return to the backyard immediately, but I called her back.
No one was going to leave. Everyone was to collect.
“Good evening everyone,” the man greeted. “My name is Engineer Ifon and with me are Barrister Victor, Mr. Roland and Chief Ifon, my father. We are here in respect to…”
“Hold it there. Na me first una come,” Calabar Witch cut him off as she emerged from the other side of the compound pointing at us the object tied in a red piece of clothe. She was dressed in an attire that resembled their witch’s official attire.
No one knew when or how she changed into her knew attire.
“I sabi wetin carry una come, but make I first handle my own. I no go take time.”
We kept quiet as she walked closer.
“Mr. Alphonsus, I no wan talk plenty talk. When you been dey my house for Bayelsa, you know say I no dey too talk but I dey overdo. So you go dey answer as I dey ask. No fall my hand ooo.”
She was still pointing the object at Ugly Uncle.
“When you been dey my house for Bayelsa, you been dey do my daughter?”
Ugly Uncle looked at his wife. You could see ‘guilty as charged’ written all over his face.
“Yes,” he answered.
“Who give ahm belle?”
“Na me.”
“Who name dis pikin Miracle?”
“Na me.”
“Who come give ahm the second belle?”
“Na me.”
“I no wan ask you why you runaway. But you go marry ahm abi you no go marry ahm?”
“I go marry ahm.”
She turned to her daughter and added: “Oya carry your bag go inside. Na your house be this from today. Anybody wey no wan make you stay for here, do make I know.”
I quickly turned to Ugly Uncle’s wife, but she did not bother stopping the lady from entering the house. She was still restless.
“Mr. Alphonsus. I dey go back Bayelsa now now. But make I wan you, if head pain my pikin, na you I go hold.
