Title: Love’s Bitter Lesson
Episode 5
Days turned into weeks, and Adanna found herself running into Kelechi more often than she expected. It started with casual greetings at the café, then short conversations about work, and soon, he became a familiar face in her daily routine.
He never pushed too hard, never asked too many questions about her past. He simply existed—kind, charming, and present.
One evening, as she packed up her laptop to leave the café, Kelechi smiled at her. “Ever thought about taking a break from work? Maybe dinner sometime?”
Adanna hesitated. The idea of dating again felt like stepping into dangerous territory. But something about Kelechi’s approach was different. He wasn’t rushing her. He was just… there.
“I don’t know if I’m ready,” she admitted.
Kelechi nodded. “That’s okay. It doesn’t have to be a date. Just a meal between two people who enjoy good food.”
She chuckled softly. “You’re persistent.”
“I prefer the word patient,” he said with a wink.
That weekend, Adanna found herself sitting across from Kelechi at a rooftop restaurant, watching the city lights twinkle in the night sky. She had expected to feel nervous, but surprisingly, she felt… comfortable.
They talked about everything—life, business, childhood memories. For the first time in a long time, Adanna laughed freely.
As the night ended, Kelechi walked her to her car. “You know,” he said, “you don’t have to rush into anything. Healing takes time. But I just want you to know… I’ll be here.”
Adanna swallowed the lump in her throat. No man had ever spoken to her like that before. No pressure, no demands—just a quiet reassurance.
As she drove home that night, she realized something.
Maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t as broken as she thought.

Title: Love’s Bitter Lesson
Episode 6
Adanna found herself thinking about Kelechi more than she intended. His words echoed in her mind—You don’t have to rush into anything. Healing takes time. But I’ll be here.
For the first time in a long while, she felt safe around a man. No pressure. No demands. Just a gentle presence that made her feel valued.
One evening, she received a message from Nkem.
Nkem: Babe, have you heard the latest news about Chuka?
Adanna’s heart skipped a beat. No. What happened?
Nkem: His so-called perfect marriage is already on fire. The girl he left you for has been cheating on him.
Adanna stared at her phone, uncertain how to feel. A part of her wanted to rejoice, to call it karma. But another part of her… felt nothing.
She typed back. That’s his problem, not mine.
Nkem sent laughing emojis. E pain am!
Adanna smiled faintly but quickly shook the thought away. She had spent too long crying over Chuka. His life was no longer her concern.
Later that evening, Kelechi called.
“Hey,” his voice was warm. “Are you free? There’s a small concert happening tonight. Thought you might like it.”
Adanna hesitated, but then she took a deep breath. “You know what? Let’s go.”
As they arrived at the concert venue, Adanna felt something different—she felt free. The music filled the air, and for the first time in years, she danced without care. She laughed, sang along, and allowed herself to live in the moment.
Kelechi watched her with admiration. “You have a beautiful smile, you know?” he said softly.
She looked at him, her heart skipping a beat. Maybe she wasn’t completely healed. Maybe she still had a long way to go.
But one thing was certain—she was no longer broken.
