Title: Love’s Bitter Lesson
Episode 7

Adanna had never felt so alive. The concert night had awakened something in her—a realization that she had spent so many years drowning in pain, forgetting how to truly live.

Kelechi had become more than just a familiar face at the café. He had become a friend, a source of laughter, and a reminder that love didn’t have to be painful. But even as their bond grew, Adanna remained cautious.

One evening, as they sat at a quiet restaurant, Kelechi leaned forward. “Adanna, do you ever think about love again?”

She tensed. “I try not to.”

“I understand,” he said gently. “But love isn’t always betrayal. It isn’t always pain.”

She looked away. “That’s all I’ve ever known.”

Kelechi sighed. “You deserve more, Adanna. You deserve someone who sees your worth. Someone who will cherish you.”

Adanna swallowed. “I don’t think I can risk my heart again.”

He nodded, respecting her feelings. “I won’t rush you. I just want you to know—I’m here. Whether you need a friend or something more, I’ll always be here.”

Adanna felt something stir within her—fear, hope, and a flicker of something she hadn’t felt in a long time.

As she lay in bed that night, she asked herself a question she had avoided for so long.

What if love wasn’t the enemy? What if I had just given my heart to the wrong person?

For the first time since Chuka’s betrayal, she allowed herself to wonder…

Could she love again?

Episode 8

Adanna found herself thinking about Kelechi more than she intended. His words had planted a seed of doubt in her heart—a question she was too afraid to answer.

Could she truly love again?

She had spent so long building walls around her heart, ensuring no one could hurt her the way Chuka did. But Kelechi wasn’t forcing her to tear them down. He was simply waiting, offering patience, kindness, and a friendship that felt too good to be true.

One afternoon, Nkem visited her at home, sipping on a cold drink as she studied Adanna’s face.

“You’re glowing,” Nkem teased. “Tell me the truth. Is it because of Kelechi?”

Adanna rolled her eyes. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Nkem smirked. “Oh, please. Don’t pretend. I see the way you talk about him. The way you smile when his name comes up.”

Adanna hesitated. “I like his presence. He makes me feel safe. But I’m scared, Nkem. What if it all ends in betrayal again?”

Nkem leaned forward. “Not all men are like Chuka. Kelechi has shown you nothing but respect. Don’t let your past ruin something beautiful before it even starts.”

Adanna sighed. “I just… I don’t know how to open my heart again.”

Nkem smiled knowingly. “Then don’t rush. But don’t shut him out either. Give yourself a chance to heal—fully.”

That night, as Adanna lay in bed, she found herself replaying her moments with Kelechi. The way he made her laugh. The way he listened. The way he never pressured her.

For the first time, she whispered to herself, Maybe love isn’t my enemy.

Maybe, just maybe… it was time to give it a chance.
