Jacob’s dad and mum drove to the hospital the next morning, he met his father Chief Afonja a business mogul and renown politician , he was dressed on black Agbada , his mother was also dressed in black .
The maid brought food for Jacob he had not eaten any food since the attack on his wife the previous day .
Margaret was in a private wing in a very big sophisticated private hospital, she was now fully conscious .
“How is your wife Bolu?” Mr Afonja asked his son Jacob.
“Dad Margaret is now better , but her BP is jumping up and down its not stable the doctors are saying she’s not yet out of danger .” He said with a sullen face .
The maids and driver were offloading provision Mrs Enita brought for her daughter in-law .
“How is her baby ? Is it still alive ?” Mrs Enita asked .
“Mummy what kind of question is that ? ” Jacob ask feeling a little uneasy.
“No my son why are you taking it that way ? The description you gave to us on the phone says it’s serious .” Mrs Enita tried to ease up her pissed son .
“Why would we want to wish bad on our first grandchild?” She asked with a sullen face.
“Mum my baby is okay , the doctor said she’s fine .” His father’s face immediately became darkened, he began to gnash his teeth , his knuckles tightened against the horse whip on his hand.
“Take us inside let us go and see her .” Mr Afonja commanded .
“Wait here dad , let me talk the doctor if they would allow visitors to see her .” He said as he went in to see his wife , who was on oxygen mask .
“Doctor please may I talk to my wife in privacy?” Jacob spoke to the doctor attending to Margaret. He nodded and left the room.
“Baby my parents are here they want to see you .” She kept shaking her head in rejection . She struggled to take off the oxygen mask .
“Jacob I don’t want to see your parents tell them to go away .” she struggled to say , feeling severe pains in her lungs were Afonja had kicked her .
“This are my parents we’re talking about , what do you mean ?” Jacob asked a little beat sad .
“What should I tell them ? What excuse ? Your in-laws are here to see you, see how you show your appreciation for all their love and support?” He fumed , storming out of the room , he couldn’t understand his wife baloney .
“Your dad… You dad…” Jacob stormed out, shutting her words in, as he went to to meet his parents at the provision they had brought in the corridor , he couldn’t understand if the fall had affected his wife’s brain .
Jacob should have giving his wife a listening ear instead of getting angry
