WILD OBSESSION
Episode 12
****
Sarah already knew the kind of parents she had. She never expected less.
She knew she truly erred and had made up her mind to go through any kind of punishment, if only it would help her be at peace with her family as Frank wouldn’t pick up her calls or come to see her people.
Later on, it was another Sunday, Sarah never knew it would come so fast. She started preparing for church.
She had heard about people being excommunicated in their church but hadn’t seen one. So she was scared of the whole arrangement even though she had made up her mind to go through it.
A few minutes later, her father called her to come out so they could leave for church.
Sarah’s heart started racing.
“I’m coming, dad.”
She took a deep breath and moved out of her room.
They all left for church.
When they got to the church, Sarah’s father showed her where to sit. The place he showed her was much more distanced from the congregation. His wife looked at him in disapproval but he shunned her.
Sarah went and sat there. Her parents left for their respective positions and service went on.
When the service was over, Sarah couldn’t get up from her seat. She felt everyone was looking at her, she buried her head in shame.
A few minutes later, her parents walked up to her and they all left for their house.
A couple of days later, Frank was sitting alone in his living room when he heard a knock at his door. He went and opened the door, it was his father. He welcomed him.
“Daddy you never told me you were coming,”
“You haven’t been going to work and you want me to believe your flimsy excuses.”
They both went and sat on the couch. Frank went to his bar and brought his father’s favourite wine and a glass cup. He kept them on the side table close to where his father sat.
“How is mum?”
“She’s fine. Frank, what is the problem?”
Frank was mute
“Something is eating you up and you chose to hide it from me your father. By the way, where is your wife?”
“I sent her away.”
“Are you crazy? What did she do to warrant your sending her away?”
Frank kept quiet for a little while and later opened up to his father. He told him all that happened.
His father was shocked.
“All these happened and you never cared to tell me.”
Frank was quiet.
“Where is she now?”
“She’s with her parents.”
“Have you thought about what pushed her into such an act? It means you weren’t available for her. You shouldn’t put all the blame on her. You will go and bring back your wife.”
“No, I won’t.”
“I know it’s painful but take a good look at yourself in the mirror and see what her absence is doing to you.”
“Dad, it hurts me so bad whenever I remember what happened.”
“I understand perfectly. Time will heal all the pains. You will either go and bring her back or you come over to the house because I’m not leaving you all alone here.”
“I will come over to the house.”
“You will follow as I’m leaving here.”
“Okay, I will.”
Frank then opened the bottle of wine for his father and poured some quantity into the glass cup.
As he drank, Frank went and packed a few of his clothes in his bag.
They later left together for Frank’s parents’ place.
