CHAPTER THREE
The population seated in court that day Jarred in shock. They couldn’t believe The deceased
best friend was going out with the deceased husband. People started murmuring and making noise.
“Order In the court” the judge charges at the noise.
He flips through the images
“ I didn’t kill my wife!!!” Mr Bichong blurted out.
“ Did you or did you not have an erotic relationship with Miss Miranda?”
“Objection your honor. The council is misleading my client” Mr Bichong’s lawyer jumps in immediately to help his client.
“Objection overrule!. Answer the question” looking at Mr Bichong
“Yes we had something but that was a long time ago…”
“With all the evidence presented in this court your honor will agree with me that The defendant is therefore guilty and should be punished accordingly. I rest my case” he goes back to his seat proudly smirking at Mr Adebayo.
Mr Bichong’s lawyer moves forward to witness box. He addressed his fellow colleagues, the members of the jury and then started.
“ I am quite a wear of the evidence presented by my colleague. It’s true that my client here had a thing with Miss Miranda, his deceased wife’s best friend. But that doesn’t prove that My client and his mistress connived to kill the deceased.” He moves back and front
“ The evidence presented, holds no grounds. This is because there were not pictures of my client directly pushing his wife off the building.”
“Your Honor, what am trying to say is his evidence has not been backed by any concrete proof.” He walks back to his seat and takes out disc from his bag
“With me is the evidence that my client here is innocent. This is a CCTV footage which was taken from my clients house.” He hands the disk to the judge who gives it to be played. After a while, the court was silence. After the video had been played, the population went on again with the noise
“This CCTV footage is a major evidence that Mrs. Ellen Bichong commited suicide. Neither Mr Bichong noh Miss Miranda was present at the crime scene.”
The look on Mr Adebayo’s face became gloomy. He himself was shocked at this great revelation.
Mr Bichong was prepared for his security. Since he was a big business tycoon he wanted to make sure that he monitored his every environment so as not to keep enemies. He secretly installed mini cameras at the Balcony of his house. From the entrance of his house to the stairs and the balcony outside.
Judgement was passed in favor of Mr Bichong and Miranda and they were both release.
In disgrace, Mr Adebayo traveled back home. He insisted that his daughter will not be buried in a strange land. He took along her corpse and buried it at his own house.
Months have passed, still no reason had come up why the ones Beautiful and happy soul Ellen Bichong had to end her life. She was one of the luckiest girls on planet earth as she never had to suffer. She was blessed with a wonderful family and a very protective and loving father, who would go to all lanes to make sure she was okay. She also had a Billionaire husband who loved and pampered her.
What then was her problem?, why did she commit suicide? Did she find out about her husband’s little secret?.
Why would she end her life?. This Questions kept coming to me and I was worried. I personally watched that video, where she climbed up the Balcony and throw herself from the tall building. If not I would maybe guessed it to be an accident.
The next day I was coming back from work when k suddenly bump into Mr Leo. He was heavily drunk and looked so drown that you could barely hear him talk.
“ Madam Trisha, how’s your school? How are your stu..dins?” he said, stumbles and falls.
“ Mr Leo!! When are you going stop this your drinking habit? It’ll put you in trouble ohhh. By the way my students are fine. Thanks for asking” I covered my mouth with my hands the same time struggling to push the bad alcoholic smell that he sent out.
“ Please tell me something. Didn’t I tell you people that Ella was pushed by the woman in black gown?”
“What do you Mean?. The footage we saw had no woman in black wedding gown in it.”
“Hahahaha so you say. And who’s that standing In front of Mr Bichong’s gate?”
“ Hahahaha this man, I can see that the alcohol is really getting into your head.” I wanted to walk away but he stopped me again
“ But look” he pointed to Mr Bichong’s gat again. “ That’s the same woman I saw that day. The only difference is that she’s carrying a bouquet of red roses.”
“ What!!!
“She’s putting on a black dress, her face looks pale and blood oozing out of her eyes and nostrils. Her flowers are dripping blood.”
The whole description scared me so much that I ran without looking back.
Mr Leo in his drunken state walked pass the Bichong’s house singing a song.
“The evil Bridesmaids, Evil bridesmaids is here to take you. She’s angry at Ella, and has Taken Ella away. Miranda!!! Watch out for the evil Bridesmaids is coming for you!”
I know I wasn’t Miranda but I was so scared that I travelled to my cousin’s place to spend the night with her…
