“Mrs Margaret you have to put your trust in God right now , your life and that of your child is at risk right now .” A Doctor said running hands on Margaret’s stomach .
“Your water broke before time , the situation induced premature labour , your child will be fine and yourself, only if you can trust us , and work with us , God willing you’ll deliver your child safely .” Margaret was cryingoh from the intense labour pains and throbbing headache pain nodded , as tears and sweat missed together rolled from her browse .
“Mrs Margaret you’re going to push now ,Doctor Shade has helped you shift your child , she’s well placed and he’s ready to come out.” Doctor Dapo who had sent out Jacobs parents said to her .
“push now !” Margaret brows contracted , her mouth squeezed into a big cry as pains was unbearable.
“I can’t push the baby” her mouth quivered as she cried . “I can’t bear this pain ! I want my mother , please call my mother .” She wept . the doctor went one of the nurses in the labour to call Jacob .
He came running with his heart beating behind his chest , he was terrified . “what is it doctor is my wife okay ?” The doctor who was unhappy with him grumpily said .
“She’s fine , she’s having it hard pushing the baby .” He said pealing off the latex gloves from his hands . “have you called your mother in-law ?” Jacob shook his head , affirming that he’s not .
“please you need to call your mother in-law . Your wife need her here for emotional support.” he nodded and went out to dial his mother in-laws number , she doesn’t want to see my parents but want her own here .
“Mrs Margaret you have to push harder , your baby is set to come out , leaving him inside , might be dangerous to your health and his . you have to push .” She nodded and began pushing .
Then Nike and her husband Afonja appeared in the labour room .
“Oh Jesus they’re back , oh Jesus they’re back !” Margaret cried erratically.
“Who is back we can’t see anyone anywhere here .” the doctors said in confusion . Margaret began to shriek and shake erratically , pointing to where Afonja and his wife were standing .
“Nobody can see us , we are going to make sure you don’t come out of this labour room with that child , the both of you must die! you cannot bring your blood into our family.” Afonja said pointing at Margaret’s stomach . “Who only want the sacrifice of your first child but since you choose to be stubborn. we are going to take your life , so our son would another wife .” Afonja said .
“leave me alone ! oh my God!”
Her BP rose up to one hundred and eighty over one hundred twenty .
“We have to inject her , her blood pressure is dangerously high .” Doctor Dapo said . He injected her and she calmed down .
“Mrs Margaret are you a Christian?” doctor Shade asked . Margaret nodded , biting her lips to keep down the urge to scream the hospital down .
“I do believe you that they’re dark forces , I will pray right now for you , I hope you’d join your faith with mine ?” She nodded again .
“Every foul spirit in this room , I chase you out with the blood of Jesus !” Afonja got so angry he wanted to attack the doctor but the fire coming from her was too much for him to bear,Nike grabbed his hands they disappeared from the hospital.
“Are they still here ?” doctor Shade who was a slim , woman in her mid thirties asked Margaret . She shook her head to tell her that they were gone .
“I’ll like cover your face with this piece of clothing, so you won’t see them , should they return while you’re still in labour , is that okay by you ?”
“Yes doctor do it please.” She said letting out a silent whimper .
the doctor covered her face, Afonja returned alone , but saw Margaret couldn’t see him, he stood there frowning as she struggled .
At last the baby jumped out of the womb. Margaret let out a cry of joy , Doctor Shade cleaned the baby and passed her to its mother .
tears of joy flowed down her eyes , as she held the bundle or joy all her pains disappeared.
