Sister Aduragbemi episode 2

SISTER ADURAGBEMI

Part 2.

By Authoress Rhoda.

They didn’t expect anyone to barge in, but Audra did.

To her greatest surprise, she only met two people in the office.

The pastor and sister Joy.

“What!!!!” she shouted.

“Sister Adura, you know your condition. Why did you have to stress yourself by coming down to my office when you have a phone.

Just a phone call across to me would have been a better solution rather than undergoing much stress to bring yourself down here.” The pastor said as he tried to hide the shock that was well written on his fore-head.

” Sister Adura, you really lack etiquette. How on earth will you barge into an anointed man’s office without knocking at the door?” Joy said, scanning Adura with her eyes full of rage.

” I’m sorry for barging in just like that. Nevertheless, Joy or what are you being called, you don’t have the right to open your big mouth to insult me.

Who the hell do you think you are? If you think you can’t correct in love, then keep your dirty mouth shut forever. Nonsense!” Adura shouted as she tried to make her way out of his office.

No doubt, Adura was infuriated.

At the same time, anger spiraled from the pit of Joy’s stomach, obliterating every form of patience she had left.

Before anyone could say jack, she rushed to Adura and gave her a dirty slap that almost made her blind.

The pastor rush down to the two ladies to settle them. Initially, it was a difficult task because Joy was ready to squeeze life out of Adura who couldn’t fight too much for herself.

After some minutes, peace was restored. Although, Joy to Adura was like a thrash.

“Joy, I know that both of you are expecting a baby soon. Nevertheless, don’t abort that pregnancy. Please, don’t follow your so-called pastor’s advise. Good bye.” Adura said while looking at the two of them with an eye full of wrath.

It was as if the ground should open and swallow them. They just couldn’t look at Adura. They were looking at each other. Sweet covered them.

Joy couldn’t hide the shock. The pastor too couldn’t.

They never believed she overheard their conversations.

” Who on earth could have told her?”

” Well, I heard everything. You hear!” Adura said, laughing sarcastically as she clapped her two hands.

“So, anointed man of God fornicates? Choir mistress fornicates too? Wowww! Wonders shall never end.” She said.

Joy fell on her knees immediately, begging Adura not to expose them.

Pastor was confused. Tears began to flow.

Adura went her way.

As she was leaving, fear clawed at her insides.” What if pastor sends someone to claim my life? What if any of them commits suicide? What if someone is sent to beat me up on my way home.”

Her sister kept on waiting for her for what seems to be like eternity. The worms in her stomach were already shouting” hunger!! “. Despite that, she just couldn’t leave her sister behind.

She saw her sister Adura, coming! She felt so happy but faked her happiness by frowning at her sister for taking too much time.

Despite the frowning of face, Adura wasn’t moved. She didn’t utter a single word which made her sister to be fearful.

She tried thinking deeply in her spirit to see if she had wronged her.

She didn’t offend her in any way. But, what could have caused the sudden silence.

Adura on the other hand was trying to process everything that happened in her mind.

Millions of thoughts climbed her mind. She just wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone.

All attempts to make Adura cheerful and lively became futile. Her sister gave up immediately and faced her life. They went home in total silence.

Immediately they got home, Adura went straight to her room. She locked herself up. The tears that came from her eyes were almost turning into a river.

She kept on crying, yet without uttering a single word.

“Sister, it’s time to eat.” Her sister called out.

There was no response.

She dialed her line, it rang but she failed to pick her calls.

Her mum’s patience were almost flying.

“What could be wrong with my daughter? Or, did anyone remind her of her disability? Was she insulted?”

“Seun, let’s break this door. Who knows if she is planning to commit suicide. Who knows whether she is lifeless.” Mum said.

At the spur of the moment, her sister rushed down to her neighbor’s house.

Immediately Adura got to know that they were very serious about breaking the door to her room down, she stood up. She wiped her tears and walked towards the door to open it.

Immediately she opened it, her mum rushed to her. Her mum broke down in tears. She was broken seeing her daughter in a bad condition.

Adura thought she wiped those tears well. She didn’t want to break her mum’s heart. She wasn’t ready to open up her pains out to anyone. She was willing to bear those thoughts alone, but her eyes betrayed her.

Her eyes wailed for help. Help that wasn’t known to anyone.

Her eyes read “Help!!!! I’m dying inside.”

Yet, they had no clue on how to help her because she wasn’t saying anything.

“Will you come and eat now?” Her mum asked.

She told them she wasn’t interested.

Her mum became more disturbed. She tried everything she could do to make her happy, but all went down the drain.

“Mum, I am fine. Can you please allow me to be alone?” Adura said firmly.

“Please, don’t hurt yourself. Don’t question God for your predicament. Don’t think too much. Don’t break mum’s heart, daughter. You can be alone. As you are there alone remember you are not fully lonely.

Jesus is right there with you. Remember, I love you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.” Her mum said as she bent to hug her.

The name” Jesus” infuriated her, but she kept quiet.

She went into her room, hoping to catch some sleep that would take away her thoughts. Sleep never came.

She kept on thinking till she started having migraine.

Her stomach was hurting. She wasn’t becoming herself.

She called her sister to serve her.

Immediately she devoured her meal, she slept off.

Something terrible happened the following Sunday. What was that?

To be continued.
