Ain’t I suppose to be taking you home? Jide asked

Stop me I said please. Susan raised her voice.

Jide parked and she stepped down and took another vehicle home.

Three months later Jide’s affairs with Susan became stronger and Jide brings her home every day at the closure of work.

Babe, I don’t like the fact your boss now drops you off at the gate from work every day. I’m not insinuating anything but I’m not just comfortable with it. Ken complained bitterly.

Babbby is just a harmless lift. He now follows this direction that’s why I see the need to follow him nothing more. But It’s fine. Since you don’t like it trust me it won’t occur again I promise. Susan assured Ken.

Come here. Ken, called Susan. and held her. Don’t feel bad okay? I don’t have anything in mind. We have two cars here I thought by now you have started receiving your salary you would have fixed one for yourself and be driving it to work.

You have a point. The two cars will be fixed not just one. Susan said.

Just go inside, freshen up, and come to the dining I prepaid Ghana Jollof rice for you. Ken romantically said.

Oooooh! Babe, how many times have I begged you to stop cooking? I know you went to the market today because there are no foodstuffs in the house. Babe, please stop. I don’t want people to start seeing you frequent the market. I will eat today’s own but next time I won’t eat so you will stop cooking.

Who cares if people see me frequently in the market? I don’t do it for people I do it for my wife and daughter. By the way, ain’t you the one that thought me how to cook? So what’s the essence if not for days like this you are busier and I’m less busy. Go freshen up go! Go!

You are a sweetheart. Ken replied while he stare at Susan entering the room.

Jide, my husband doesn’t like the fact that you bring me home. I will stop joining you in your car because I wouldn’t want him to suspect us. Susan told Jide.

Okay if you said so but Susy are you not considering giving birth to another baby? Jide asked

It’s God that gives Children. It is not in my hand. Susan replied.

It is in your hand, Susy. Just allow me. I want you to have my baby.

What are you saying? Are you indirectly calling my husband an impotent man? Don’t you ever suggest such again? I might be cheating on my husband with you but I will never give him a child that is not his. God forbids! Susan angrily said and wanted to leave his office.

I’m sorry! I’m sorry forgive me. I promise I won’t think of such again. Jide said looking at Susan’s face and she was still angry. Okay, I will get you a new car of your choice just say the name.

Are you sure? Susan asked with a smile on her face.

I’ve never been this serious in my life baby. Just say it. Jide said with seriousness on his face.

Susan hugged him and they both hugged each other tightly. There was a sudden knock on the door. Susan and Jide quickly let go of themselves and seated back where they suppose to be.

The doors opened it was his secretary. Sir, there’s a lady here to see you. She said her name is Edna.

Oh! Let her in. Jide said.

She walked in. It was a fine, tall slim lady.

Well, Susan meet Edna, my fiancee. Edna, meet Susan my Marketing Manager, and a sister to my best friend Lotanna.

Wow! Nice to meet you, Edna.

Same here Susan. They both stretched their hands and had a handshake.

I guess our meeting is over now? Susan asked Jide.

Yes, sure. I will call you when your presence is needed. Jide said and Susan left.

Why didn’t you call me and tell me you are coming to my office? Jide asked Edna.

I came to see a friend I remembered your office is closed. I said let me stop by. Edna explained.

It’s okay but next time call me. Let’s go for lunch. Edna and Jide stepped out.

Later the same day Susan went to Jide’s office because she was confused about meeting a fiancee when she knows Jide is married.

Jide, you introduced a lady today as your fiancee what happened to your wife? Susan asked.

We are no more together. Jide answered.

All this while I’ve been asking you about your wife you keep telling me she’s fine why didn’t you tell me?

Because I don’t want to talk about it. Enough of asking me about my wife. Come let me drop you off to where you will get a taxi home since I’m not taking you home.

Susan got home and what happened in the office still gives her concern. She decided to call her brother because she knows her brother must know what is happening. She dialed her brother’s number and he picked up. After asking him how he was faring she now went straight and asked him.

It seems his fiancee came to the office today. Lota asked her on the phone.

Yes, she came. I was surprised to see a fiancee instead of a wife. Susan answered.

Jide, Jide. Well, you know Jide has an appetite for women. So, Helen, his ex-wife kept seeing him with numerous women. And she started avoiding Jide and also depriving him of séx. She insisted before Jide will touch her again that both of them will go for a medical test. They both went and the hospital confirmed Jide HIV positive and Helen Negative. That was how Helen ran for her life.

Wait Lota, you mean Jide is HIV positive? Susan asked to confirm what she had heard again.

Yes na! Lota boldly answers her on the phone.

Susan screamed and ended the call.
