Once in Love
Episode Two
Tossing around on the bed, she opens and closes her eyes, and suddenly it’s morning. She checks the time and it’s 7:30 am.
“Oh my God, Isabel is supposed to be in school by now!” she exclaims.
She tries to feel the bed with her hands, but her husband isn’t sleeping next to her.
She jumps out of bed and goes straight to their daughter’s bedroom.
“Good morning, sweetie,” she says with a smile as she opens the door, only to find an empty bed.
“Isabel, sweetheart, where are you?” she calls out. Isabel emerges from the bathroom, a six-year-old girl with a slender figure and ponytail hair.
She has a serious expression and is covering herself with a towel.
Mrs. Williams stands still, admiring her daughter for a moment and marveling at how much she has grown in just a few years.
Then she walks closer and gives her a hug. Isabel remains expressionless, unsure of how to react.
“I’m sorry, baby. Mom was so tired last night that she couldn’t wake up early,” Mrs. Williams apologizes.
With a smile, Isabel returns the hug.
She knows how hard her mother works around the house to make sure everything is in place.
“It’s okay, Mom,” she says. “I’m no longer a baby. I can do most things for myself, and I can also help you with the things I can do.”
Isabel continues to clean herself with the towel.
Mrs. Williams looks at her, pleased with her daughter’s maturity. Before leaving, she says, “In five minutes, come to the dining room for breakfast.
Let me go and find your father. I haven’t seen him since this morning.”
“Okay, Mom,” Isabel nods. But then she remembers something and says, “Wait, Mom!” as her mother turns to listen.
“I had a bad dream about you and Dad. It looked as if everything in this house was divided,” I said to Mrs. Williams.
She stood there, deep in thought, pondering the dream for a while.
Then she replied, “It’s just a dream, baby. Nothing like that will happen.”
Mrs. Williams walked out to make breakfast, while Isabel opened her wardrobe to grab her ironed uniform for school.
As she put on her uniform, Isabel paused and said, “But the dream felt so real.”
After a moment of reflection, she continued getting ready, realizing she was running late. “Oh no, I’m late!” she exclaimed, rushing to the kitchen.
Suddenly, Isabel remembered that she forgot to grab her school bag.
She quickly went back to get it and returned to find her parents already at the dining table having breakfast.
“Good morning, Dad. Good morning, Mom,” she greeted them, taking a small bite of sliced bread and sipping her tea.
Mr. Williams then announced, “Your mother is taking you to school today.”
Everyone was shocked since he usually took Isabel to school every day. They wondered why the sudden change, but didn’t have any answers.
After waiting for both parents to finish breakfast, they finally set out to leave.
Mr. Williams left in his car, while Mrs. Williams drove Isabel to school.
On the way to school, Isabel couldn’t help but be troublėd by her father’s recent behaviour.
She finally mustered the courage to ask her mother, “Mom, did you notice the way Dad has been acting lately?
It seems like he doesn’t care about me anymore.”
Mrs. Williams reassured her, saying, “Your father might be stressed, dear. He will come around.”
They arrived at the school, and Isabel said goodbye to her mother before heading inside.
As Mrs. Williams drove home, she couldn’t help but think about her husband’s sudden change in attitude.
“It was obvious he had changed from her caring husband to someone she didn’t even understand anymore.
She finally got home and went straight to the kitchen to prepare lunch.
After that, she went to freshen up and then began to pray for her marriage.
With tears in her eyes, she said, “Lord, please save my marriage. I commit everything into your hands.
We were joined together in the church, and your words say, “What God has joined together, let no man put asūnder.”
She made the sign of the cross and went back to continue preparing lunch.
