NIGHTCLUB CHRONICLES
CHAPTER 6
It almost became a bad day. For a start, I wasn’t wearing a mask ๐ท. The security guys refused to let me in which was a blessing in disguise. If I had my mask on, I would have been allowed in and since tempers were still high, I couldn’t tell what would have happened.
I stopped a passing bike and went to a roadside pharmacy at my neighborhood and got my wound dressed. After that, I went straight home, bathed and went to bed. I was owing about six hours of sleep and needed to catch up. I decided I wasn’t going to club for the next two months. However, that was not to be.
Exactly one week later, my girlfriend came to town. I had not seen her in a while so I decided to give her a treat. On Sunday morning, after returning from church, we went to Silver Springs Hotel and resort for a swim. After spending the whole afternoon there, we decided to go home and prepare for clubbing at night.
However, while we were at the resort, there was this guy who claimed he was a medical doctor in town. He walked up to us and greeted. We had never met him but we accepted his greetings as a sign of goodwill. When I went to get drinks, I saw him by the corner of my eye trying to get my girlfriend’s number. She refused to give him. When I walked back to her with the two bottles of drinks in my hand, I asked her what the guy wanted and she told me. I decided to ignore him so as to avoid trouble. We left soon after.
It was 10:00 PM. I was in front of Double Dose, my favourite club, a club I had fought in several times. By my side, was my girlfriend, looking hot. She was wearing a pair of very short bump shorts. We were at the entrance of the club in a queue as the bouncers checked everyone for concealed weapons.
We were inside now and I took Linda as she was called, straight to the back, around the smoking section. I don’t smoke but I was aware of my records in club, so I wanted to stay by myself.
The club was beautifully lit. The rotating bulbs and disco lights produced a thousand fragments of light on our bodies. I had been watching too much movies lately.
I was in no mood to dance so I just sat there waiting for the waitresses to show up so that I could order something to drink. Linda however, was having none of my gentlemanly behaviour. She wanted us to dance but I declined. If only she knew what I was avoiding.
She sat on my laps and gave me a good lap dance. I had only seen that in movies. Everyone around us stopped dancing and watched us. Some started clapping. I sort of enjoyed the attention but little did I know that the attention would lead to trouble. The doctor was in the club and had noticed us.
Lap dance was over now. I had been waiting fruitlessly for the waitresses to show up but they hadn’t. I woke up from my seat, told Linda I would be right back and headed for the bar. As soon as the doctor saw me leave, he took his chance and walked up to where were sitting to talk to Linda. You can’t blame the doctor much, Linda was a beautiful girl. She was slim, fair-skinned and tall; even taller than me. However, unfortunately for the doctor, I met a waitress on my way to the bar and as I was taking her back to our seats to get our commands, I saw the doctor leaving in a hurry.
I directed the waiter to where Linda was sitting and followed the doctor. He went behind the club and I followed him slowly. He didn’t know he was being stalked. However, his instincts told him someone was following him. He made a quick turn around and faced me.
“Can I have a talk with you?” I asked
“Yes”
“I understand you are a doctor?”
“Yes, I am.”
“What kind of Doctor?”
“Surgeon”
“Good. That makes sense. I believe you will be able to reconstruct your face after I deform it.”
“What are you talking about?” He asked, feigning innocence.
“My name is Ric, I saw you earlier at the resort and you have been disturbing my lady friend. I want you to back off or there will be fireworks. ”
“What if I don’t?”
“Then you will have what you have been looking for” I threatened.
“You can’t do anything. Do you know who I am?”
I didn’t answer. I had already made my point. I gave him the middle finger and turned to leave. He grabbed me from behind and pushed me.
The problem with the doctor was that he hated me. Since he hated me, he underestimated me. That was his error. When I regained my balance I turned in his direction and greeted him with my favourite move – a hard kick on his tummy.
