(MY SOULMATE)
It took series of pleas and explanations to pacify the anger of Gloria’s mother.
When she was finally calm, she invited Chris inside her sitting room. There they sat and Chris opened up to her on everything that had transpired between him and Gloria. He also told her of his intention of marrying her and the condition his father gave him.
Hearing these, Gloria’s mother insisted that he should leave and return when her husband is around. So he can also bring to his notice, the exact things he had told her. Cause it’s not in her powers to give her daughter’s hand out in marriage. And so they agreed and he left.
When he left, Gloria’s mother sat her daughter down and tried talking senses into her. She advised Gloria to be wise and smart in her dealings with the Ogbuefis as rich people always had this disregard for the poor.
Days later, Chris returned with Hilary his best friend and had a heart to heart discussion with the father of Gloria.
But he didn’t agree with the idea of his only daughter going to live with a man and his family for a whole month without the man performing her marital rites. He further stressed on the fact that she was a woman and any mistake can keep her stuck in her father’s house forever.
But Chris went ahead to promise that none of his worries would come to pass. But even at that, Gloria’s father insisted that Chris must at least come with his father and some elders to make their intentions known to him. So he can be rest assured that Chris’s parents were in support of his daughter staying with them for a month.
Chris who thought that the process would be easy, felt frustrated. He returned to his father and pleaded with him telling him everything that Gloria father had said. And surprisingly, Chris’s father was excited about the way Gloria’s father handled the situation.
For if it were to be some money hungry and desparate fathers, they would have sent their daughter off to go stay with them without following the right procedures.
Because of that act, he obliged to carry out the demands of Gloria’s father. Bringing along with him two elderly men from their village, they went with Chris to Gloria’s house.
Seeing chief Cosmas Ogbuefi in their house, Gloria’s parents were convinced that truly, their daughter had found favour in Ogbuefi’s family. And for that, they gave her their blessings and permitted Gloria to follow them home.
Under the agreement that it must not exceed a month. And that if their daughter should get pregnant at the cause of her stay in their mansion, then they must take full responsibility. Whether they like her character or not. Cause they gave their daughter to them as a virgin. And they hope that she remained so till they have performed all the necessary marital rites.
Before they left, Gloria’s mother drew her to a corner and advised her over again. Reminding her of who she was and where she came from. Also, she advised her to remain respectful and submissive to the Ogbuefi’s household. So they can come to properly marry her after the one month had elapsed.
Back at Ogbuefi’s mansion, Gloria was given a separate room which was next to Chris’s room. And they were both warned and advised not to keep close contact to avoid getting intimate with each other before the one month elapsed.
It was a dream come true for Chris, who was so excited and optimistic that his parents would come to like Gloria’s personality. And so it happened. Within her two weeks of staying at Ogbuefi’s mansion, Chris’s father came to like her personality, humility and sincerity. He needed no further examinations to approve of her marrying his son.
But there was Chris mother who hated every single thing about Gloria. And of course, she made life a living hell for Gloria who thought of leaving countless times. And this kept bringing issues between her and her husband.
Madam Agnes was never pleased with whatever Gloria does. She always had a reason to yell or insult her entire generations. On the first day of the third week, She made Gloria cry because of the hurtful and dehumanizing things she said to her. And Gloria angrily got ready to leave the mansion with the intention of going back home as she could no longer tolerate the whole insults, ridicules, humiliations and constant reminder of her background from Chris’s mother.
But Chris had to stop her from leaving. And when Chris father noticed how determined Gloria was to leave the mansion that day, he then spoke with Chris telling him to take Gloria so they could go spend three days or more with his grandmother (chief Cosmas’s mother) who was in the house her late husband built specially for her.
Chris’s grandmother loved him so much and Chris found it easier opening up to her than he would to his parents. When Chris finally arrived at her house with Gloria, she was really excited for Chris.
And since she loved Chris, she loved everything that had to do with him. So loving Gloria was not a problem. She fell in love with Gloria and instead of staying for three days like they had planned, they made it a week. On their 4th day of staying at Chris grandma’s place, she brought out a beautiful bracelet which she said was the first love present she received from her late husband. And that she had always wanted to give it to Chris’s wife whenever he got married.
And with excitement, she gave it to Chris who wore it on Gloria’s wrist saying,
“My love, my peace, my life. You are my soft place to fall, my guiding light, my best friend. In you I see our happy ever after. What a love I have found with you. You are my soulmate. I give this bracelet to you today as a token of my endless Love to you. And I hope that whenever you look at this bracelet, you will be reminded of how dazzling you look at this moment.” He said kissing her hand.
Gloria couldn’t help but blushed effortlessly as he slipped the bracelet into her wrist. Later on, Chris’s grandma prayed for them and blessed their union intensively.
Later that night, while Gloria was laying down in her room staring tirelessly and endlessly at the beautiful bracelet on her wrist, She heard a knock at the door. She got up and unlocked the door. Pulling it open, she saw Chris standing before her.
“Chris?. What are you doing here?.” She asked.
But Chris shut her up by crossing his finger across her lips.
“Shhhhhhh….you might wake grandma up.” He said gradually pushing his way into Gloria’s room.
“I thought we were told to avoid keeping close contact with each other?. Don’t you think you are going overboard by coming into my room by this time of the night?.” Gloria asked sitting next to him on her bed.
“I’ve tried fighting this emotions for too long but it’s not working. Do you even know how beautiful you look whenever you smile at me?. What man in his rightful senses will not desire to hold and touch a beautiful woman like you?. Besides, this is the third week. By the ending of next week, we will be officially getting married. So why the restrictions and all?. I’m gradually losing my mind thinking and imagining different romantic moments with you in my head.” Chris said looking frustrated.
“Your body is hot Chris. What’s wrong?.” Gloria asked ignoring him and feeling his body temperature.
“You might not know this because you haven’t been with a man before. But being s*x starved and sexually frustrated can increase a man’s body temperature like this.” Chris said looking like a child.
“So how do we calm your body temperature?. Shouldn’t we just tell Grandma?. I’m sure she will know one or two medicines that can cure or curtail your feverish conditions.” She said standing to go but Chris held her by the wrist and pulled her back on the bed.
“Come on Gloria. Don’t you get it?. The only solution to my problem is you. I’m seriously in need of your warmth. Your body. I want to have a taste of your womanhood if that will make you understand what I mean.” Chris opened up.
“What?. Is this it?. You simply want to have s*x with me don’t you?.” Gloria questioned.
“Yes. And I’m unapologetic about it. I mean, we will be getting married at the beginning of next month so what’s the difference between giving it to me now, and giving it to me later?.” Chris asked.
“Chris you know what?. Just leave my room.” Gloria said angrily standing on her feet.
“You want me to leave your room?. Gloria why are you being this mean and inconsiderate towards me?. Why do you want to s*x starve your husband to be?.” Chris questioned totally frustrated.
“I’m glad you said husband to be Chris. Until we are rightfully married, I won’t let you see my nakedness even if it remains a day to our marriage. So please leave before I call on grandma.” She said pointing at the door.
“Fine Gloria. I will leave. But whenever you see me relieving my sexual urge somewhere else, I hope you will understand.” Chris said. And with anger, he left the room.
Gloria sat back on her bed and pondered on the way she treated Chris who had been nothing but good to her.
“Did I overreact?.” She asked herself feeling bad.
The next day being the 5th day, Chris started giving her cold shoulder treatments. He stopped being around her like he used to. It was so obvious that he was avoiding her. And when his grandma noticed and asked Gloria what was going on between them, she was too shy to tell her what the actual problem was.
Gloria who was not used to his silence and cold treatments, became restless and worried. She was with him but still missed him.
Chris on the other hand, would intentionally see a girl and hold her down in a conversation. All to make Gloria jealous. And of course it got to her. Then she remembered his statement.
“…..whenever you see me relieving my sexual urge somewhere else, I hope you will understand.”
And this got her scared and restless. Later that night Chris couldn’t sleep as he kept rolling from one end of his bed to the other. The entire room suddenly became stuffy and inconducive for him. He hated the fact that he hadn’t talked properly with his woman. And as such, he quickly stepped out and headed to her room to apologise for ignoring her. But before he got to her door he saw Gloria coming out of her room. She was also restless that she couldn’t sleep too knowing fully well that Chris wasn’t happy with her.
As soon as she stepped out of her room, she and Chris bumped into each other and they both quickly pretended not to have missed each other. Chris made a U-turn and went back to his room. Gloria quickly went back in and shut her door.
As they both went back into their individual rooms, they still found it difficult to sleep. Now it was a matter of who will go to the other and apologize first.
They both stayed awake staring at the ceiling till it was 11 pm. Chris couldn’t take it anymore so he quickly got up to go out and sort things with Gloria. But as soon as he pulled his door opened, he found Grace standing before him.
“Chris, I’m sorry for the way I spoke to you.” Gloria said.
“I’m also sorry for ignoring you and giving you cold shoulder treatments through out today.” He said scratching his head.
“Can I spend the night here?.” Gloria asked.
Just then, Chris eyes ran through her night wear and he liked what his saw. At that moment all his sexual organs were jumping up in excitement and lustful desire.
“If you cross this door tonight, I can’t guarantee that I will be able to restrain myself from touching you. So it’s best you go sleep in your room to be on a safer side.” Chris said fighting his sexual urge.
But without a word, Gloria took few steps forward and crossed into his room. Leaning towards him, she pressed her lips against his.
“Gloria. You called for this. I hope you won’t change your mind later. You still have the opportunity to step out while I’m being nice.” Chris said struggling so hard to suppress his emotions.
“I came prepared and ready Chris. All I ask is that you take it gently and slow with me. Cause this is going to be my first.” Gloria whispered in his ears.
And without further hesitation, Chris pushed the door and shut it. Turning to Gloria, he pulled her into a warm yet satisfying deep kiss running his hand through her hair.
He grabbed her and lifted her up still kissing her passionately like a long starved dog. Gloria wrapped her hands around his neck and returned the kiss with great delight and romance.
Chris carried her to his bed and gently laid her on it. He stopped kissing Gloria and gazed steadily into her eyes.
“Are you sure about this?. Are you ready for this?.” He asked with curiosity written all over his face.
Gloria nodded and said,
“As long as it would make you happy Chris. I just need you to promise me that you won’t leave my side no matter what happens.” She said.
“As long as we both live, I promise to stay by your side till the end of time.” Chris said.
And slowly, he kissed her on her forehead, then to her nose, lips and neck. He returned to her lips. But this time, he took it more slowly and gently using his hands to slowly undress her. When he undressed her, he noticed the shyness on her face and to ease her worries, he quickly turned off the light. And like a gentleman, Chris took it slowly and gently with Gloria. As every stroke he gave her, sent pains through her lower region. She grabbed Chris very tight enduring the pains.
That night remained fresh in their memories cause it was the night they got intimate for the first time. In an unforgettable, pleasurable and memorable way.
Meanwhile back at home, Vanessa called Chris’s mother to ask her of what her plans were.
“Are you going to watch her get married to Chris?. We have just one week left. If you can’t handle this, then let me handle it my own way.” Vanessa said.
“Relax my child. I’ve got the perfect plan that will separate them forever. Let’s just wait for their return.” Chris’s mother said smiling mischievously.
